A mid-roof anchoring system includes a series of anchoring channels secured to the roof structure along a line midway between the eave and the ridge of the roof. Metal roof panels installed over tile substructure are permitted to float laterally on the roof, except where they are attached to the anchoring channels. As a result, the roof panels expand or contract in both directions away from the midway line. This approach minimizes thermally induced movement the upper and lower edges of the roof, and minimizes reaction forces at the anchor.

A seamed metal roof is formed from an array of panels having lateral edges interconnected by rolled seams, and a plurality of clamps, each comprising a first elongate part having a mating surface, a longitudinal recess having dimensions like those of the seam, a second elongate part having a mating surface opposing the recess and the mating surface of the first part, and a fastener for drawing said parts together, to confine the seam in the recess.

An insulated roof includes a deck which acts as a diaphragm and a plurality of interlocked roof panels which carry vertical loads. A layer of insulation is also included, as are bearing plates.

Insulated roof

A prefabricated wall panel unit capable of being matingly joined with like units in edge-abutting relationship. The unit includes interior and exterior wall panels joined by hermaphroditic coupling elements. The coupling elements each have a channel-defining portion and a wing-defining portion with the portions being offset from each other and positioned so that a wing of one panel unit is received in a channel of an adjacent unit. Deformable strips of low thermal conductivity material are mounted in the channels for embeddingly receiving the wing elements to couple adjacent units together to form a wall.

Wall panel unit

Insulation for the roof of a building. The insulation comprises a plurality of distinct layers of flexible insulation blankets with a spacer channel member interposed therebetween. A spacer block can be included to space the top layer of insulation from a roof panel at a location adjacent a purlin. The spacer member is channel-like and is generally U-shaped in transverse cross-section and is adaptable to be used in conjunction with a variety of purlin shapes.
