A distributed processing system wherein client-side process is simplified and system reliability is improved. An information transmission requesting section makes a request for transmission of information, and an information providing section provides received information to a user. An information management section manages the information, and an information relaying/transmitting section relays the information to be transmitted to a client application. An account authentication section verifies authenticity of account of the client application, and an information storage section stores the information. After the authenticity is verified, a service application control section controls the start and termination at logon and logoff, respectively, of a service application corresponding to the client application.

No overlap with a preliminarily provided mounting schedule for another physical component per each predetermined measure of the scheduled mounting position is confirmed based on the inputted mounting plan information. Information of a holder class instance already generated in association with all of the predetermined measures of the scheduled mounting position is changed only when the mounting schedule is implementable, and a physical class instance associated with the holder class instance is generated.

Network element management method, apparatus, and network management system

In a message control apparatus for transferring messages between objects which belong to different processes, a message distributor distributes messages to queue buffers provided for each of target objects, and a thread controller simultaneously prepares a plurality of threads less than a maximum thread allocation number predetermined for each of processes and the target objects and takes out the messages to be given to a corresponding target object. Also, the maximum thread allocation number corresponding to a CPU serviceability ratio in the processes can be designated, and a part of the thread allocation number of the target objects with few thread number used is allotted to the maximum thread allocation number of the target objects with many thread number used.

Message control apparatus

An object management system and data processing system which enable the containment relationships among a plurality of resource managers to be changed without affecting client applications which use services of those resource managers. A tree manager maintains tree structure data that defines the containment relationships among resource managers, together with identification data that is used to distinguish between them. From this tree structure data, an object manager builds a containment tree to grasp the containment relationships among the resource managers. When a client application issues an operation request to one of the resource managers, a message processor receives and forwards it to the object manager. The object manager then searches the containment tree to find identification data of a relevant resource manager for which the received operation request should be destined, thus sending the request to the found destination resource manager. This centralized approach of object management facilitates addition and removal of resource managers to/from the tree structure data.

A data storage and management apparatus for storing and managing data of an object as a persistent object in a data storing system. When storing an object in the data storing system, information on complexity of data of at least one attribute of the object is recorded in the apparatus, and data of each of the at least one attribute of the object is stored in a first table in the data storing system when the data of the attribute is not complex data, and in a second table in the data storing system when the data of the attribute is complex data. When manipulating data of an attribute of the object in the data storing system, the above information on complexity is referred to, and manipulation is performed on the first table when the data of the attribute is not complex data, and on the second table when the data of the attribute is complex data.

An object-oriented type information managing system includes a network control system and a network managing system, the network control system includes an upper control object, and the network managing system includes a plurality of processes each having one or more objects. Each destination object returns a response message. A protocol conversion system that provides improved reliability in data transmission and reception. The system comprises a first node belonging to a network A, a second node belonging to another network B, and a protocol converter disposed between the two nodes. The first node uses a first communications protocol that defines a set of rules for communications in the network A, while the second node uses a second communications protocol for the network B. Serving as a relaying device between the first node and second node, the protocol converter converts the communications protocol of the messages traveling between them. The protocol converter comprises a first message processor to process the messages according to layer definitions of the first communications protocol, a second message processor to process the messages according to layer definitions of the second communications protocol, and a first protocol converter that adds and removes some control information to/from the messages for protocol conversion. The second node comprises a second protocol converter working as a counterpart of the first protocol converter.

System and method for converting communication protocols

A main controller of a recording medium dualization system reads, when the power is turned on, three types of information: USE information (status information of a recording medium of each medium board) indicating whether or not the medium can be used; ACT information indicating which of the recording mediums is or was used in an active system; and PWON information indicating whether or not the power for the recording medium is turned on, whereupon the main controller sets the information to denote that the master system is an active system and executes a mirroring process whereby the USE information and the PWON information of the slave system are identical to the master system. When it is found that the recording medium of the master system is removed, on the basis of the USE and ACT information, the slave system is switched to an active system, and the corresponding information setting is performed. When it is found that the recording medium of the master system is mounted, on the basis of the PWON information, the USE information and the PWON information of the slave system are mirrored onto the master system.

An apparatus for controlling synchronization in a system having at least first and second units each having internal circuits includes signal paths through which a control signal output from a second unit is sent to a first unit and a control signal output from the first unit is sent to the second unit. A first preparatory process part carries out a process to place the internal circuits of the second unit in an operating state when the second unit is connected to the system and for outputting a control signal to the signal paths. A first function mask control part is provided for stopping the operation of the internal circuits of the second unit when a control signal from the first unit is not received by the second unit, and for restarting the operation of the internal circuits when the control signal is received. A second preparatory process part carries out a process to place the internal circuits of the first unit in an operating state when the control signal from the second unit is received by the first unit, and for outputting a control signal to the signal paths. A second function mask control part is provided for stopping the operation of the internal circuits of the first unit when the control signal is not received, and for re-starting the operation of the internal circuits when the control signal is received.
