A display device includes a display panel including: a first subpixel including a first light-emitting element; and a second subpixel adjacent to the first subpixel and including a second light-emitting element. The display device includes a circuit unit calculating a degradation amount of the first light-emitting element in accordance with a light-emission state of the second light-emitting element, and calculating a compensation value of the first light-emitting element in accordance with the calculated degradation amount of the first light-emitting element.

Display device and method for driving display device

A display device is provided with: a display portion including a plurality of scanning lines, a plurality of data lines, and a plurality of pixel circuits; a scanning line drive circuit; and a data line drive circuit. The level of a data voltage applied to the data line decreases when a frame frequency is switched higher, and increases when the frame frequency is switched lower. This can prevent a display flicker when the frame frequency is switched. The level of the data voltage may change when the frame frequency is switched, and may return to its initial level over a plurality of frame periods. The timing of the control signal used to drive the display portion may change in accordance with the frame frequency to cause the length of the charging period of the pixel circuit to change in accordance with the frame frequency.

A display device according to an aspect of the disclosure includes a pixel circuits, a scanning signal line, a data signal line, a first power supply voltage line, a second power supply voltage line, a scanning signal line drive circuit, a data signal line drive circuit, and a display control unit. The display control unit compares data values written in pixels in an n-th row corresponding to the selected scanning signal line with data values written in pixels in an (n−1)-th row which is one row prior to the n-th row of the selected scanning signal line, and corrects the data voltage corresponding to the pixels in the n-th row in a case where a difference between the data values is equal to or greater than a threshold value.

Display device and driving method

In a display device that changes the number of light emissions per frame period, a display control circuit outputs a control signal specifying an emission period included in a frame period to an emission control line driver circuit. The emission control line driver circuit adds sequential delays to the control signal and thereby generates signals to be applied to the emission control lines. When leading and trailing frame periods have the same proportion of emission periods but include different numbers of emission periods, the leading and trailing frame periods are intervened by a transition frame period having a different proportion of emission periods from the leading frame period. This configuration prevents flickering caused by the changing of the number of light emissions per frame period.

A display panel includes a second display region and a first display region arranged side by side in a direction in which data signal lines extend, and a source driver provided in a picture-frame region close to the second display region. The display panel further includes a switching signal line disposed between the second display region and the first display region, and a plurality of switches provided at intersecting portions of the data signal lines and the switching signal line. Each of the plurality of switches is connected at a control terminal thereof to the switching signal line, connected at a first conductive terminal thereof to a data signal line disposed in the first display region, and connected at a second conductive terminal thereof to a data signal line disposed in the second display region.

A memory liquid crystal display including a liquid crystal panel with a built-in touch panel is provided with a state control circuit configured to switch a state of a pixel electrode between a floating state and a non-floating state. A pulse signal for touch detection is supplied to a common electrode in a touch detection period. The state control circuit changes the state of the pixel electrode from the non-floating state to the floating state before the start of the touch detection period, and changes the state of the pixel electrode from the floating state to the non-floating state after the end of the touch detection period.

In a memory liquid crystal display including a liquid crystal panel with a built-in touch panel, a black voltage or a white voltage is provided to a pixel electrode in accordance with a value of binary data stored in a memory circuit, and a display voltage generation circuit changes voltage values of the black voltage and the white voltage in synchronization with a continuous pulse voltage for touch detection in a touch detection period so that an absolute value of a voltage between the pixel electrode and a common electrode is maintained at a constant magnitude in each pixel circuit throughout a period from a point in time immediately before the start of the touch detection period to a point in time immediately after the end of the touch detection period.

Touch panel control device and information processing apparatus

A display apparatus includes a source driver and a gate driver which drive a display section such that pixel signals are selectively supplied to a plurality of pixels provided in the display section. The display section includes a non-image visual recognition area, in which it is not possible for a visual recognizer to visually recognize an image to be displayed, and an image visual recognition area in which it is possible for the visual recognizer to visually recognize the image to be displayed. The source driver and the gate driver lower a driving rate which drives the non-image visual recognition area further than a driving rate which drives the image visual recognition area.

In the present invention, occurrence of abnormality such as display misalignment at the time of image update is prevented even when pause drive is performed in a display device where data signal lines are driven by a plurality of driver ICs. In a liquid crystal display device which includes a master IC (L) and a slave IC (R) as driver ICs and performs pause drive, upon detection of refresh start timing by a REF (Half) of the master IC (L), the master IC (L) transmits a refresh control signal RfC to the slave IC (R), and upon receipt of a refresh detection signal RfD indicating refresh start timing detected by a REF (Half) of the slave IC (R), the master IC (L) transmits the refresh control signal RfC to the slave IC (R) as well as starts refreshing on the left active area based on data in a 1/2 RAM (L). Upon receipt of the refresh control signal RfC, the slave IC (R) starts refreshing on a right active area based on data in a 1/2 RAM (R).

A display device () in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention includes: an LCD driving section () and an LCD controller () for causing an image based on an image signal to be displayed on an LCD (); and a CPU () for supplying an image signal to the LCD controller (), the LCD controller () being configured to supply, to the CPU (), a control signal that instructs the CPU () to supply an image signal, and the CPU () being configured to supply an image signal in a case where the CPU () receives a control signal.

Display device and control method

In a liquid crystal display device, a drive unit is controlled in a direction of eliminating a polarity bias of a data voltage corresponding to image data at a point of time when a refresh signal for updating an image displayed on a display unit by periodical refreshment or forced refreshment is generated, and the polarity bias is obtained for each of subsequent frame periods. In this manner, not only the polarity bias after the point of time when the refresh signal is generated is obtained so that the polarity bias at the point of time when the refresh signal is generated is eliminated, but also the polarity bias is repeatedly obtained in the same way every time the refresh signal is generated, and accordingly, the polarity bias can be prevented from being increased.

An object of the present invention is to prevent occurrence of abnormality such as display misalignment at the time of image update even when pause drive is performed in a display device where data signal lines are driven by a plurality of driver ICs. In a liquid crystal display device which includes a master IC (L) and a slave IC (R) as driver ICs and performs pause drive, upon detection of refresh start timing by a REF (Half) of the master IC (L), the master IC (L) transmits a refresh control signal RfC to the slave IC (R), and starts refreshing a left active area of a display portion. Upon receipt of a refresh detection signal RfD indicating refresh start timing detected by a REF (Half) of the slave IC (R), the master IC (L) transmits the refresh control signal RfC to the slave IC (R), and starts refreshing the left active area of the display portion. Upon receipt of the refresh control signal RfC, the slave IC (R) starts refreshing a right active area of the display portion.

In a liquid crystal display device, it is determined whether or not image data inputted from the outside has changed from image data of the previous frame by comparing those image data with respect to each line. As a result, when it is determined that the image data has changed, an entire screen is not rewritten, but image data from a top of a screen as a fixed position to a last line with the image data having changed are read from a frame memory and written into a pixel formation portion. Accordingly, of the screen for one frame, a screen from a top thereof to the last line where the image change has been detected is updated, and on subsequent lines, an image of the previous frame is continuously displayed.
