A swash plate type variable displacement compressor includes a collection and supply mechanism. The collection and supply mechanism has collection passages, supply passages, an annular space, an inlet port, and an outlet port. The inlet port is communicable with a working collection passage of the collection passages. The outlet port is communicable with a working supply passage of the supply passages. When the inclination angle of the swash plate is maximum, residual refrigerant gas in a compression chamber of collection phase is collected through the working collection passage and the collected refrigerant gas is supplied to a compression chamber of supply phase. On the other hand, when the inclination angle is less than the maximum, residual refrigerant gas is supplied no more into the supply-phase compression chamber.

Swash plate type variable displacement compressor

A displacement control valve includes an electromagnetic solenoid, a drive force transmitting body actuated, and a pressure sensitive portion having a pressure sensitive body that selectively extends and contracts in the movement direction of the drive force transmitting body in correspondence with pressure in a pressure sensitive chamber. A first valve body is arranged in the pressure sensitive body to adjust the cross-sectional area of an outlet passage. A second valve body is connected to the drive force transmitting body to adjust the cross-sectional area of a supply passage. The pressure sensitive body is movable in the movement direction of the drive force transmitting body in the pressure sensitive chamber. The pressure sensitive chamber is configured to communicate with the control pressure chamber. The pressure sensitive body is urged by the pressure in the control pressure chamber in the direction in which the first valve body closes.

Displacement control valve

The swash plate type variable displacement compressor includes a rotary shaft, a swash plate, a plurality of pistons, a first rotor, a second rotor, a solenoid and a cone clutch. The second rotor transmits the rotation of the first rotor to the swash plate. The solenoid produces electromagnetic force that acts on the first rotor or the second rotor so that the first rotor and the second rotor move toward each other. The cone clutch is engageable by energization of the solenoid. The cone clutch has a male cone portion and a female cone portion. The male cone portion has a conical surface provided on one of the first rotor and the second rotor. The female cone portion has a conical surface provided on the other. The conical surface of the female cone portion is connectable to and disconnectable from the conical surface of the male cone portion.

Swash plate type variable displacement compressor and method of controlling solenoid thereof

A compressor includes a swash plate, and a shoe connected to an outer periphery of the swash plate. A surface of the swash plate slides upon a flat surface of the shoe. A sliding film is applied to the surface of the swash plate. The sliding film is formed of binder resin which contains a solid lubricant and titanium oxide powder. This allows the surface of the swash plate and the flat surface of the shoe to smoothly slide upon each other.

Coating composition for use in sliding parts

A double-headed piston type compressor forms a first compression chamber and a second compression chamber for compressing gas. The compressor has rotary shaft having an inner chamber that interconnects a suction chamber and the first and second compression chambers for introducing the gas into the first and second compression chambers. The compressor also has a partition wall that is located in the inner chamber for dividing the inner chamber into a first passage and a second passage. The first passage interconnects the suction chamber and the first compression chamber. The second passage interconnects the suction chamber and the second compression chamber.

In a piston type compressor, a housing includes a cylinder head which defines a discharge chamber and a cooling chamber. The cooling chamber located adjacent to the discharge chamber surrounds the discharge chamber. The housing also defines a suction chamber, a compression chamber, and a crank chamber. The cooling chamber is isolated from the suction chamber. Gas is introduced from outside of the housing into the suction chamber. A rotary shaft is rotatably supported in the housing. The cam is accommodated in the crank chamber. A piston is operatively coupled to the rotary shaft through the cam. Rotation of the rotary shaft is converted to reciprocation of the piston. A seal member shuts communication between the cooling chamber and an atmosphere outside the compressor to seal an inside of the cylinder head. An introducing passage interconnects the cooling chamber and the crank chamber.

Piston type compressor

A lubricating structure in a fixed displacement piston type compressor has a housing, a rotary shaft, a cam, a piston, a rotary valve and a rotary body. The housing defines a cam chamber, cylinder bores and a suction pressure region. The rotary shaft is rotatably supported by the housing. The cam is located in the cam chamber and is connected to the rotary shaft. The piston is located in each of the cylinder bores and engages the cam to reciprocate with rotation of the rotary shaft through the cam. The rotary valve connected to the rotary shaft includes an introducing passage and a supply passage that interconnects the introducing passage and the suction pressure region. The introducing passage introduces fluid into the cylinder bores through the supply passage. The rotary body connected to the rotary shaft includes a communication passage that interconnects the cam chamber and the suction pressure region.

Lubricating structure in fixed displacement piston type compressor

A lubricating structure in a piston type compressor has a housing, a device for being lubricated and a rotary shaft. The housing defines an accommodating chamber and a suction pressure region. The device for being lubricated is located in the accommodating chamber. The rotary shaft is rotatably supported by the housing. The rotary shaft includes a supply passage, a communicating port, a lubricating hole and a flow guiding portion. The supply passage transfers fluid that contains lubricant. The communicating port interconnects the supply passage and the suction pressure region. The lubricating hole interconnects the accommodating chamber and the supply passage. The flow guiding portion is formed on a circumferential surface of the supply passage and is located near the lubricating hole. The flow guiding portion guides the lubricant toward the lubricating hole.

Apparatus for lubricating piston type compressor

A refrigeration suction mechanism used in a piston type compressor. The compressor comprises a rotary shaft, a plurality of pistons, a compression chamber and a rotary valve. The pistons are arranged in a circumference of the rotary shaft to reciprocate in conjunction with a rotating motion of the rotary shaft through a cam member. An end surface of one of said pistons reciprocates in the compression chamber. The rotary valve includes an introducing passage which allows refrigerant to flow into the compression mechanism through an end opened on an outer surface of the rotary valve. The refrigeration suction mechanism comprises a suction passage and a reactive force transmitting mechanism. The suction passage communicates with the cylinder bore and intermittently communicates with the end of the introducing passage in conjunction with a rotating motion of the rotary valve. The reactive force transmitting mechanism transmits a reactive force applied on one of the pistons that is in a discharging stroke so as to press the rotary valve against a mouth of the suction passage which communicates with a cylinder bore that contains the piston in the discharging stroke.

Refrigeration suction mechanism for a piston type compressor and a piston type compressor

Swash plate type compressor

In the present compressor, a retainer is prevented from being deformed without impairing the sealing performance of a metal gasket provided between a covering member for closing a compression chamber of a cylinder block assembly and a discharge valve forming plate. A discharge valve forming plate is provided between a valve plate having at least one discharge port through which a fluid compressed in a compression chamber of a cylinder block assembly is discharged into a discharge chamber of a housing and the cylinder block assembly. A retainer for restricting the magnitude of opening of a discharge valve is integrally formed in a metal gasket which is provided between the discharge valve forming plate and the housing. The housing is provided with a restricting section at a position corresponding to a proximal portion of a rising portion of the retainer for restricting the proximal portion of the top surface of a rising portion.

A double-headed piston compressor includes a pair of opposite discharge chambers. Each discharge chamber is defined by a large annular wall and a small annular wall. The annular walls are located about the axis of the drive shaft. A limit wall is formed in each housing and is located in each discharge chamber. Each limit wall extends substantially radially to connect the annular walls near the outlet of the discharge chamber. Therefore, each discharge chamber forms a gas passage, which extends circularly about the axis of the drive shaft from the limit wall to the outlet. Compressed gas discharged from the cylinder bores to each discharge chamber through the discharge ports flows in one direction toward the outlet. As a result, pulsation of compressed gas is attenuated.

A valve structure includes a central valve plate having a valve hole, and a flexible valve element having a root portion lying on the central valve plate and a bendable portion to open and close the valve hole. A retainer element has a retaining surface to restrict deformation of the valve element when it is bent toward the retainer element to open the valve hole. The profile is expressed in a two-dimensional coordinate system (x, y), and the freely bent shape is represented by coordinates (x, f(x)) obtained by pushing the valve element at an abscissa position corresponding to the center of the valve element. The retaining surface has a profile containing a coordinate (x&prime;, f(x&prime;)&minus;K) so that the profile is displaced toward the central valve plate with respect to a freely bent shape of the valve element.
