An analysis system includes an analysis apparatus that analyzes a specimen managed in an analysis center and a server apparatus managed in a service center. A server apparatus stores a first reference specimen ID for identifying a first reference specimen and a first range based on a first reference value, in association with each other. The analysis apparatus analyzes the first reference specimen provided without notification of the first reference value and transmits to the server apparatus, the first reference specimen ID and an analytical value of the first reference specimen with which the first reference specimen ID is associated. When the server apparatus determines the received analytical value of the first reference specimen as not belonging to the first range stored in association with the received first reference specimen ID, the server apparatus provides an abnormality signal.

At least one stable isotope reagent is added to each biological sample and standard sample to prepare biological samples for analysis and standard sample for analysis. The quality of the biological samples is evaluated using data of one set of biological samples for analysis composed of a plurality of biological samples for analysis. Besides, the quality of a pretreatment and/or analysis of each set of samples for analysis is evaluated using data obtained by analyzing the standard sample for analysis before and after an analysis of one set of samples for analysis. An abnormality in a chromatograph or mass analyzer used for the analysis of one set of samples is evaluated by the data obtained by analyzing a sample for device evaluation before and after the analysis of one set of samples for analysis. Thus, the quality of data obtained by chromatographic mass spectrometry on biological samples is comprehensively evaluated.

Method and device for chromatographic mass spectrometry

An apparatus that identifies the type of a test cell based on a result obtained by performing mass spectrometry on the test cell includes a higher-level database, which contains mass lists that each list ion mass values of constituent components of a known cell, and a lower-level database, which contains partial mass lists that each list only strain-specific ion mass values out of the ion mass values. The higher-level database is first searched for a test mass list which is created from the result of the mass spectrometry performed on the test cell, and based on a result of the search, an organism species to be searched in the following search operation is determined. Mass values common to the organism species are subsequently deleted from the mass list for the test cell, and the mass list having undergone the deletion operation is used to search the lower-level database.

Mass analysis is performed on the same sample while changing the cooling gas supply rate to the ion trap, i.e. the gas pressure conditions, and the respective mass spectra are obtained. Under high gas, ion energy will decrease and modifiers such as phosphate groups will not detach readily, while under low gas, ion energy will remain high and so detachment of modifiers will occur readily. Thus, between multiple mass spectra obtained while changing the gas pressure, if the mass difference between a peak for which signal intensity increased and a peak for which it decreased corresponds to the mass of a known modifier or an integer multiple thereof, it can be inferred that those peaks have the same basic structure and differ only in the number of modifiers. Thus, such peaks are selected as precursor ions to perform MSanalysis and structural analysis.
