A curtain airbag device includes a curtain airbag disposed along an upper side surface of a vehicle facing a cabin in a folded state to be able to expand downwardly along the side surface, and an inflator for inflating the curtain airbag. A guide airbag is arranged to expand substantially at the same time when the curtain airbag is expanded. The guide airbag guides the curtain airbag toward the cabin and/or regulates an expanding direction of the curtain airbag.

Curtain airbag device and vehicle provided with the same

An airbag is folded into a predetermined shape and is held by a shape-maintaining member or rubber strap to keep its shape. Both ends of the rubber strap are attached to the airbag by sewing portions. When the airbag is inflated with gas from an inflator, the rubber strap is detached, so that the airbag rapidly expands. In the airbag device with the shape-maintaining member, the shape of the folded airbag can be maintained, so that the airbag can be easily assembled.

A child seat has side walls on left and right sides of a squab portion thereof, and recessed portions for a seat belt passage, respectively. In case of a relatively large-sized infant, a seat belt installed in a vehicle and designed primarily for use by an adult is placed to extend across the squab portion. The seat belt passes through the recessed portions so as to extend closely with the infant's body to protect the infant. In case of a relatively small-sized infant, an impact shield is attached to the seat belt, so that the infant can be protected by the seat belt via the impact shield. Fitting members are fitted in the recessed portions to make the tops of the side walls flat when using the impact shield. The impact shield is stably placed on the side walls having the flat tops.

Child seat

A seat belt retractor of the invention is basically formed of a first reel, a second reel, a rope extending between the first reel and the second reel, and a spiral spring situated in the second reel as an urging force providing device. The first reel is connected coaxially to a rotational axis of a reel shaft for winding a webbing, and has a drum shape on which the rope fixed at one end to the first reel is wound. The second reel has a rotational shaft disposed parallel to and laterally spaced away from the first reel. The second reel includes a small diameter reel portion, a large diameter reel portion, and a transition portion connecting the small diameter reel portion and the large diameter reel portion. The rope attached to the first reel extends to the small diameter reel portion and the transition portion, and is wound around a groove of the large diameter reel portion. The seat belt retractor is improved in assembling the members, and an approximately constant force for withdrawing the webbing can be achieved even if a withdrawal amount of the webbing is increased.

An air bag is structured by superposing a lower panel and an upper panel and sewing up the peripheral portions of the panels. The air bag is provided with an opening for an inflator at its rear portion. Flaps are extended from a peripheral portion of the opening for the inflator.

Air bag

The invention is a combination of an air bag device and a vehicle. An air bag for the air bag device for a passenger seat or a rear seat is structured by superposing a lower panel and an upper panel and sewing up the peripheral portions of the panels. The lower panel is longer than the upper panel. Portions of the lower panel are superposed each other and extended out of the air bag so as to form elongated portions. A protrusion of the air bag is formed by sewing up side edges of the elongated portions with threads.

Combination of an air bag device and a vehicle

An air bag for a passenger seat or a rear seat which is produced by easy sewing and is assembled into an air bag device easily is structured by superposing a lower panel and an upper panel and sewing up the peripheral portions of the panels. The lower panel is provided with an opening for an inflator and vent holes. The opening is provided with a cloth sewed on the outside of the periphery thereof. The rod-shaped inflator is inserted between the cloth and the opening. The both ends of the inflator are fixed to a casing.

Air bag device

An air bag device to be mounted in a steering wheel of a vehicle comprises an air bag, an inflator which generates to deploy the air bag, a retainer to which the air bag and the inflator are attached, and a cover attached to the retainer to cover the air bag, wherein the air bag device has lugs on the periphery of the air bag. Each of the lugs is attached to the retainer and has tear strength such that the lug is torn by the tensile force applied to the air bag after it is deployed in front of the retainer in the process of deployment of the air bag.

A slip anchor for a seat belt has a guide hole which slidably guides the webbing in a longitudinal direction. An escape portion is formed at least on one end of the guide hole, and a projection is provided on the connecting section between the escape portion and the guide hole. Accordingly, the webbing is guided by the projection, and this perfectly prevents the inversion of the webbing. Further, the escape portion can be formed relatively large, and the end of the escape portion to be contacted by a lateral portion of the webbing can be eliminated. As a result, this prevents tearing of the webbing and also prevents twisting of webbing due to inversion.

Slip anchor for seat belt

A shoulder adjuster includes a guide rail fitted so that the longitudinal direction is set as a vertical direction to a vehicle and provided with a plurality of notches formed at intervals in the longitudinal direction; and a slide member slidable in the longitudinal direction of the guide rail and having engaging parts engaging with the notches and a shoulder anchor fitting part. The notches have cut-in edge parts positioned on the underside in the vertical direction and substantially orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the guide rail and cut-in edge parts positioned on the upside in the vertical direction and obliquely to the longitudinal direction as to expand apertures of the notches. The slide member has an anchor fitting part to provide advancement and retreatment in the engaging direction and includes an elastic member for biasing the anchor fitting part in the engaging direction. The engaging parts are integral with the anchor fitting part and biased by the elastic member in the engaging direction.

Shoulder adjuster

Disclosed is a shoulder adjuster comprising: a guide rail fitted so that the longitudinal direction is set as a vertical directions to a vehicle and provided with a plurality of notches formed at intervals in the longitudinal direction; and a slide member slidable in the longitudinal direction of the guide rail and having engaging parts engaging with the notches and a shoulder anchor fitting part. The guide rail consists of a synthetic resin guide rail and a metal guide rail so that the slide member engages with the synthetic resin guide rail during an emergency, and during a non-emergency the synthetic resin guide rail is deformed to make the slide member engage with the metal guide rail.

A pretensioner for removing slack from a seat belt having a slack removing mechanism drive actuated in response to a detection signal indicative of a prescribed degree of deceleration of a vehicle, and pawl gears which, owing to a driving force produced by the drive, and meshed with a gear that co-rotates with a seat belt take-up reel, rotates the take-up reel in a direction that removes slack from the seat belt. When deceleration of a predetermined magnitude is sustained, as at the time of a collision, slack in the seat belt is removed reliably and the amount of tightening of the seat belt is substantially constant. As a result, the seat belt functions at maximum effectiveness to effectively restrain the passenger wearing the seat belt.
