A beam-control member has a substantially cylindrical holder that is light-permeable, and a first beam-control member disposed on an end surface of the holder, the first beam-control member reflecting part of the light emitted from a light-emitting element and admitting part of the light. A guide protrusion and a tab are provided on the end surface of the holder. A concave portion corresponding to the tab is provided on an outer circumferential part of one surface of the first beam-control member. The first beam-control member is radially mated in a rotatable manner along the guide protrusion. Rotating the first beam-control member on the end surface of the holder so that the tab and the concave portion engage causes the first beam-control member to be secured on the end surface of the holder.

The horizontal cross-section of the incidence surface () is substantially similar in shape to that of an n-hedral irradiated surface (). In the horizontal cross-section of the emitting surface (), each of the straight lines connecting together adjacent angles of the n angles that correspond to the n angles of the irradiated surface () is substantially parallel to the side that corresponds to the horizontal cross-section of the incidence surface (). Lighting device

Disclosed is a light emitting device to reduce the number of components and elements of a light emitting device and a lighting device having the light emitting device, and simplify and miniaturize the structures of these devices. With this light flux controlling member (), a total reflecting surface () functions like a reflecting member, light from a light emitting element (LED, for example) () that is incident from an input surface () and that arrives at the total reflecting surface () is total-reflected by the total reflecting surface () toward the output surface () side (including a first output surface () and second output surface ()), and the illuminating light from the second output surface () is superimposed upon the illuminating light from the first output surface (), so that the light from the light emitting element (LED, for example) () is used efficiently and illuminates the illumination target surface () over a wide range.

A fluid handling unithas an outside large-diameter cylindrical portion, an outside small-diameter cylindrical portionand an inside cylindrical portionwhich are integral-molded so as to be integrated with each other. Fluid handling unit and fluid handling apparatus using same

A fluid handling unithas an inside cylindrical portionwhich is arranged in an outside small-diameter cylindrical portionso as to be eccentric with respect to the outside small-diameter cylindrical portion, and a plurality of slitsfor establishing a communication between an inside fluid housing chamberand an outside fluid housing chamber. The most part of liquid in the inside fluid housing chamberenters the outside fluid housing chamber, in which the height of the liquid level varies in circumferential directions, when the quantity of the fed liquid is not larger than a predetermined quantity. A fluid handling device including an eaves section of a first side wall engaged with a recess of a strip plate including a plurality of wells using concavity and convexity and an eaves section of a second side wall engaged with a recess of the strip plate using concavity and convexity. Slits are further formed in a corner section of the second side wall connecting to another side wall, so as to extend downwards from an upper end section. The second side wall also is partially cut away from the other side wall and is more easily deformed than the first side wall.

A joint to be attached to a port of a micro fluidic element, has an outer peripheral surface of truncated subulate shape at a front end portion of the joint to form a front surface as a top of the truncated subulate shape, and a cuneiform space in an inside of the joint at the front end portion of the joint, the joint is made of an elastomer, and the cuneiform space includes a front end overlapping the front surface as seen in a direction along which a tube is guided by the cuneiform space when the tube is inserted into the joint so that the tube is enabled to penetrate the front surface through the front end.

A fluid handling apparatushas a plurality of fluid handling subassembliesarrayed on a plate body.
