A navigation system is provided. A medium insertion port is disposed on the front surface of a main unit and a portable recording medium is loaded into or unloaded from the main unit through the medium insertion port. A display unit is disposed on the front surface of the main unit and can move between a closed position where the medium insertion port is covered and an opened position where the medium insertion port is exposed. A limitation section limits the movement of the display unit to the opened position. A limitation removing section removes the limitation by the limitation section. An operation section receives an operation on the navigation system. The operation section can receive an operation other than an operation to be intrinsically received by the operation section. The limitation removing section removes the limitation by the limitation section when the operation section receives the operation other than the operation to be intrinsically received.

Navigation system

An information processing device capable of processing navigation information is provided. A touch panel can display images and can receive a user's touch operation. An image generation section generates a navigation image including a map image and a plurality of operation button images for receiving the touch operation, the images being displayed on the touch panel. A plurality of operation button images include a first operation button image related to a navigation function and a second operation button image related to a plurality of functions other than the navigation function. The image generation section generates a first image which is obtained by combining the navigation image and the first operation button image and a second image which includes the second operation button. The first image and the second image are respectively displayed in a first display region and a second display region. The first display region and the second display region are separated by a movable boundary.

Information processing device and image processing device

An in-vehicle display system is installed in a vehicle for displaying information to a user. The system includes a display unit that displays information; an operation unit that is located separately from the display unit and that allows a user to perform user operations including a directional operation and a turning operation; and a receiver that receives user instructions for making entry of plural characters that can be displayed on the display unit, based on displayed content displayed on the display unit and the user operations made with the operation unit. The receiver receives: (i) a first one of the directional operation and the turning operation as the user instruction in order to select a group from amongst a plurality of groups displayed on the display unit each of the plurality of groups representing a plurality of characters which are candidates for entry, and (ii) a second one of the directional operation and the turning operation as the user instruction in order to select a character from amongst the plural characters included in the group that is selected by the first one of the directional operation and the turning operation.

In-vehicle display system

An image display whereby one can extremely easily know the current position of one's own vehicle and also grasp the actual situation around the current position of the vehicle, and with which the user gets highly satisfied. The image display includes a display device to display a photo picture on a prescribed reduced scale which is prepared based on photo data on a first scale that is read from a storage device in which photo data of two or more types in different scales to one area is stored, and a display switching device to conduct display switching according to a user's command to a photo picture on another reduced scale which is prepared based on photo data in a second scale that is different from the first scale.

Image display

An in image display apparatus having a first display control unit for displaying a map image on a display panel on the basis of map data, a second display control unit for displaying real images of facilities such as ballparks, which images have the same scale of that of the map image, in areas corresponding to the facilities such as ballparks on the map image on the basis of area information indicating the areas corresponding to the facilities such as ballparks on the map image, and real image data associated with position coordinates.

Image display apparatus

An image display apparatus includes display control means for displaying a map image and a real image on a display screen on the same scale concerning the same region based on map data and real image data. The display control means has a function of superposing on either of the map image and the real image as a background, the other image in a predetermined area and combining the images so that only the other image is seen in the superposition area.
