A radiation image conversion panel that has a phosphor layer. A nonaqueous secondary battery comprising a positive electrode and a negative electrode both containing a material capable of reversibly intercalating and deintercalating lithium, a nonaqueous electrolyte containing a lithium salt, and a separator, which has at least one protective layer on the negative electrode and/or the positive electrode. The battery has a high discharge potential, satisfactory charge and discharge cycle characteristics, and high safety.

The present invention provides a nonaqueous secondary battery having a high discharge potential, a high discharge capacity, a good charge-discharge cycle characteristics and good high current charge-discharge characteristics. That is, a novel nonaqueous secondary battery is disclosed, comprising a sheet-shaped positive electrode having at least one layer containing a lithium-containing transition metal compound as a positive electrode material, a sheet-shaped negative electrode having at least one layer containing a negative electrode material capable of intercalating and deintercalating a lithium ion, a porous separator comprising polyolefines, and a nonaqueous electrolyte containing a lithium salt, wherein at least one of said sheet-shaped negative electrode and said sheet-shaped positive electrode comprises three or more layers applied to a current collector and the two layers furthest from said current collector each contain an insulating solid fine particle which doesn't substantially intercalate and deintercalate a lithium ion.

The present invention provides a non-aqueous secondary battery having an improved charge and discharge cycle property and high discharge voltage, high energy density, high capacity and increased stability as well as an excellent high electric current atitude by using a lithium-containing transition metal oxide as a positive electrode material and at least one of the specfified composite oxides as a negative electrode material. Accordingly, the feature of the present invention consists in that the negative electrode material mainly consists of at least one member selected from the group consisting of amorphous chalcogen compounds and amorphous oxides containing at least three atoms selected from the group consisting of Group 13, 14, 15 and 2 atoms of Periodic Table.

Non-aqueous secondary battery

Disclosed is a direct positive photographic material comprising a support having thereon at least one photographic emulsion layer containing previously non-fogged internal latent image-type silver halide grains, wherein the photographic emulsion layer contains at least one compound of formulae (I), (II) and (III) preferably along with at least one compound of formulae (IV), (V) and (VI), and that the internal latent image-type silver halide grains are silver bromide, silver chloride, silver iodobromide, silver chlorobromide or silver chloroiodobromide grains and contain at least one metal of manganese, copper, zinc, cadmium, rhenium, lead, bismuth, indium, thallium, zirconium, lanthanum, chromium, mercury and metals of Group VIII of the Periodic Table.

Direct positive photographic material

Disclosed is a direct positive photographic material having an improved time-dependent storage stability. The material comprises a support having thereon at least one photographic emulsion layer containing previously non-fogged internal latent image type silver halide grains wherein the photographic emulsion layer contains at least one compound of formula (I): ##STR1## where R.sup.11 is an aryl group, R.sup.12 to R.sup.15 each are a hydrogen atom, or an aliphatic or aromatic group, and R.sup.11 to F.sup.15 may have substituent(s) and may form ring(s).

A method for producing color images comprising developing a negative silver halide color photographic materials and an internal latent-image type direct positive silver halide color photogaphic material, with the same developer having a pH of 9.0 to 11.5, said direct positive photographic material containing at least one compound represented by formula (N-I) as nucleating agent and at least one compound represented by (I) or (II) as magenta coupler, thereby ensuring high color reproducibility to both photographic materials: ##STR1## wherein the symbols and substituents of said formulae are as defined in the specification.

Method of forming color images

A silver halide photographic material comprising one or more silver halide emulsion layers and hydrophilic colloid layers, wherein at least one of the layers contains an acylhydrazine compound as described below. The instant photographic materials have high contrast negative-gradation or positive-gradation characteristics, high maximum image density, excellent reversal characteristics and long-term storage stability.

Process for preparing an internal latent image silver halide emulsion

A method for forming a direct positive image having a high Dmax and a low Dmin, which comprises image-wise exposing a photographic light-sensitive material having on a support at least one photographic emulsion layer containing unprefogged internal latent image-type silver halide grains and developing the photographic light-sensitive material after or while fogging to form direct positive image, wherein the aforesaid development is performed in the existence of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of compounds represented by formula (I), (II), (III), (IV), (V) or (VI), acid salts of compounds represented by formula (I) to (IV) provided substituents thereof contain an amino group, and acid salts of compound represented by formula (V) or (VI); ##STR1## wherein symbols are defined as in claim 1.

A direct positive photographic material comprising a support having provided thereon one or more hydrophilic colloid containing layers, wherein at least one of said hydrophilic colloid containing layers is an internal latent image type silver halide emulsion which has not been previously fogged and at least one of said emulsion layer or other hydrophilic colloid containing layer contains a colloidal metal or a colloidal water-insoluble metallic sulfide, selenide or telluride, and a method for forming a direct positive from the direct positive photographic material in which a light-sensitive material contains at least two layers containing colloidal silver.

A method for forming a direct positive image composed of the step of developing with a surface developer an imagewise exposed photosensitive material compose of support having thereon at least one photosensitive emulsion layer containing unprefogged silver halide grains capable of forming an internal latent image; the at least the photosensitive emulsion layer composed of hexagonal tabular silver halide grains in an amount of at least 30 wt %, based on the total silver amount of silver halide grains therein; the hexagonal tabular grains having two parallel hexagonal faces, the ratio of the longest side to the shortest side of the hexagon being at most 2; the aspect ratio of the hexagonal tabular grains being from 2 to 8; and the hexagonal tabular grains having a monodisperse size distribution. The method provides increases in processing speed, maximum density, and contrast in the toe portion, and an improvement in graininess, even when exhausted processing solutions are used.

Method for forming a direct positive image

A direct positive image forming method comprising development processing an imagewise exposed direct positive photographic light-sensitive material which comprises a support having thereon at least one layer containing internal latent image type silver halide grains not having been previously fogged after fogging treatment or while fogging treatment, wherein the fogging treatment is conducted in the presence of a compound represented by the following general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein A.sub.1 and A.sub.2 both represent a hydrogen atom or one of A.sub.1 and A.sub.2 represents a hydrogen atom and the other represents a sulfonyl group or an acyl group; G.sub.1 represents a carbonyl group, a sulfonyl group, a sulfoxy group, ##STR2## or an iminomethylene group; L.sub.1 represents a divalent linkage group; X.sub.1 represents --O-- or ##STR3## wherein R.sub.4 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an aryl group); Y.sub.1 represents ##STR4## R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each represents an aliphatic group, an aromatic group, a heterocyclic group, --OR.sub.5 or --NR.sub.5 R.sub.6 (wherein R.sub.5 represents an aliphatic group, an aromatic group or a heterocyclic group; and R.sub.6 represents a hydrogen atom, an aliphatic group, an aromatic group or a heterocyclic group); and R.sub.3 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkoxy group, an aralkyl group, an aryloxy group or an amino group. In accordance with the method of the present invention direct positive images having a high maximum image density and a low minimum image density and being stable even when preserved under high temperature and high humidity conditions.
