There is provided a control device for vehicle. A sideslip speed which is the moving speed of a vehicle in the width direction is calculated on the basis of an estimated running position of the vehicle after a predetermined time interval has elapsed from a time at a starting running position of the vehicle on the estimated running path, and the actual running position of the vehicle after the predetermined time interval has elapsed from the time at the starting running position of the vehicle on the estimated running path.

Control device for vehicle

A side airbag apparatus includes an airbag that can form a plurality of chambers with a single inflator and protects an occupant from an impact on a side door by deploying the airbag between the occupant and the side door. The chambers of the airbag includes a vehicle sidewall chamber that can be deployed around a shoulder region of the occupant and a compartment chamber that is disposed closer to the inner side of an occupant compartment in the vehicle width direction than the vehicle sidewall chamber and can be deployed around a chest region of the occupant.

Occupant protection apparatus and occupant protection method

There is provided an occupant protection device. An air bag device according to the present invention protects an occupant against an impact caused by a collision of a vehicle by inflating and expanding a head protection air bag body and a chest protection air bag body upon the impact which are housed in a center pad of a steering wheel, the occupant protection device including an inflation and expansion mode control unit configured to inflate and expand the head protection air bag body and the chest protection air bag body mutually independently in accordance with a collision mode of the vehicle, and to control inflation and expansion modes of the head protection air bag body and the chest protection air bag body when inflated and expanded.

Occupant protection device

A vehicle-occupant protection system in a vehicle has a first sensor and a second sensor on a lateral side closer to a seat of an occupant. The first sensor is either forward of or lateral to the seat of the occupant in the front-rear direction of the vehicle. The second sensor is rearward of the first sensor. The system further includes a collision determination section, which concludes an occurrence of a collision when a signal of the first sensor exceeds a determination threshold value in a situation where a signal of the second sensor has not exceeded a determination threshold value. Upon concluding the occurrence of the collision, the collision determination section activates a movement restraint device to restrain the occupant from moving away from the seat.

Vehicle-occupant protection system

There is provided an occupant protection device. An air bag device according to the present invention protects an occupant against an impact caused by a collision of a vehicle by inflating and expanding an air bag body upon the collision, which is housed in a center pad of a steering wheel, the center pad being provided so as not to rotate along with the steering wheel, the air bag body having a first chamber and a second chamber which is configured to be expanded between the occupant and the lower edge of the steering wheel in the vertical direction of the vehicle.

There is provided an occupant protection device. An airbag device includes an airbag that is stored in a center pad of a steering wheel of a vehicle and is expandable toward an occupant side upon a collision of the vehicle. The center pad is disposed to have a non-rotating structure independent from the steering wheel. The airbag includes a first extension portion and a second extension portion which are disposed at opposing edges of the airbag in a width direction of the vehicle and are expandable to extend toward a rear side of the vehicle.

A side airbag apparatus includes an airbag that can form a plurality of chambers with a single inflator and protects an occupant from an impact on a side door by deploying the airbag between the occupant and the side door. The chambers of the airbag includes an upper chamber and a lower chamber that can be deployed above and below a door arm rest in a vehicle vertical direction, and a chest chamberthat is disposed closer to the inner side of an occupant compartment in the vehicle width direction than the upper and lower chambers and can be deployed around a chest region of the occupant.

There is provided a steering device. The steering device has an airbag module that is disposed inside a steering wheel for steering a vehicle and that protects a vehicle occupant during a collision of the vehicle with another object by deploying an airbag body toward the vehicle occupant. The steering device includes a detecting unit that detects the collision of the vehicle with another object in advance; and an adjusting unit that positionally adjusts the steering wheel to a neutral position when the collision of the vehicle with another object is detected by the detecting unit, the neutral position of the steering wheel being a position of the steering wheel when the vehicle is traveling straight.

Steering device

A seat for a vehicle comprises a cushion frame member provided in a seat cushion, an outer seat supporting member provided under the seat cushion on the door side of the vehicle for connecting the seat with a vehicle floor, an inner seat supporting member provided under the seat cushion on the center side of the vehicle for connecting the seat with a vehicle floor, a front reinforcement member laterally provided under the front part of the seat cushion, connected with the cushion frame, connected at a door side end thereof with the outer seat supporting member and connected at a center side thereof with the inner seat supporting member, and a rear reinforcement member laterally provided under the rear part of the seat cushion, connected with the cushion frame, connected at the door side end thereof with the outer seat supporting member and connected at the center side end thereof with the inner seat supporting member. The seat thus constituted has a strong resistance to the deformation, thereby a seat occupant can be protected from incoming body components on an impact.
