A card-type electronic key having a high level of portability and including an emergency mechanical key that is difficult to duplicate. The electronic key is used with a communication controller arranged in a vehicle. The electronic key includes a communication circuit unit which transmits a wireless signal including an authentication code. The communication circuit unit is allowed to control an external device arranged on the subject when the communication controller receiving the wireless signal determines that the verification code is authentic. A key card unit includes a verification code pattern formed by through holes. A concealment film is removably adhered to the key card unit and conceals the through holes so that the through holes cannot be seen.

Card-type electronic key

The portability of a mechanical key and a locking/unlocking key having the mechanical key is improved. The mechanical key is housed in a portable device in such a manner that a key plate is folded into two at a portion formed with an inner groove. Thus, the housing space for housing the mechanical key can be reduced and the portable device can be made smaller. Accordingly, the portability of the locking/unlocking key can be improved.

A shift lever device for operation of a transmission of a vehicle having a plurality of shift ranges is provided which includes a lever main body, a housing that movably supports the lever main body, a light source provided at one of the housing and the lever main body; a knob mounted to a distal end portion of the lever main body, and having a transmitting portion, a light guiding portion provided at the knob and guiding light from the light source to the interior of the knob, and a light guiding control portion. The light guiding control portion includes a shutter member operatively connected to and movable with the lever main body which, when the lever main body is positioned at least at one specific shift position, does not block light from the light source to the knob transmitting portion, and which, when the lever main body is positioned at a position other than the specific shift position, is moved to a position blocking the light to the knob transmitting portion.

Shift lever device

A shift lever apparatus is provided in which, after a slider has been assembled at a case, a link is assembled to the case while an intrusion shaft is inserted into a hole. For assembly of the link to the case, an assembly pawl provided at the link is resiliently deformed and inserted at an assembly portion which is provided at into the case. The assembly pawl includes an engaging protrusion that is engaged with a surrounding area of the assembly portion by resilient force of the assembly pawl. A blocking member is pre-positioned to interfere with the assembly pawl when the engaging protrusion is engaged with the surrounding area to block release of the assembly pawl.

Shift lever apparatus and method of constructing thereof

When a key is rotated, it is moved in order of an ON position, an R position, an N position and a D position so that the range of an automatic transmission is switched. Moreover, when the key is pressed in the ON position and the N position, it is moved to a START position so that power is applied to a starter. In this case, it is possible to carry out an operation for starting an engine and an operation for switching the range of the automatic transmission by manipulating the same key in a different direction. Therefore, the operation for starting an engine and the operation for switching the range of the automatic transmission can be carried out easily.

Switch device for vehicle

A shift lever device having a shift lever which allows selection of an arbitrary shift range by shift operation and includes a support which rotatably supports the shift lever and includes breakable portions which break when an impact force above a preselected magnitude is applied to the shift lever. Accordingly, when an axial impact force indicative of a sudden deceleration is applied to the shift lever, the support is broken. The breakage of the support allows safer absorption of the impact force applied to the shift lever. The breakable portions may take the form of a frangible pin or bracket that pivotally supports the shift lever.

A shift lever device includes a shift lever which allows selection of an arbitrary shift range by shift operation and which is rotatably supported by a structure that breaks when an axial impact force above a preselected magnitude is applied to the shift lever. The breakage of the supporting structure allows safer absorption of an impact force applied to the shift lever. The breakable supporting structure may take the form of a portion of a thin portion of a circular wall forming a bearing that rotatably supports the shift lever, or a frangible pin or bracket that pivotably supports the shift lever.

An operating apparatus for an automatic transmission, comprising: a shift lever which is shifted to each of a plurality of automatic shift ranges in an automatic shift mode; shift position detecting means which detects that the shift lever has been shifted to a specified automatic shift range; a manual shift mode changing switch which is provided in the vicinity of a steering wheel and which is operated for switching the automatic shift mode to a manual shift mode in which each of gear ratios in the automatic transmission can be selected manually when it is detected by the shift position detecting means that the shift lever had been shifted to the specified automatic shift range; and a shift up/down switch which is provided in the vicinity of the steering wheel independently of the manual shift mode changing switch and which is operated for selecting each of the gear ratios in the manual shift mode. Since the manual shift mode changing switch and the shift up/down switch are provided in the vicinity of the steering wheel, the switching between the automatic shift mode and the manual shift mode and the operation for switching between the gear ratios in the manual shift mode can be facilitated.

Operating apparatus for automatic transmission

A shift lever device includes: a shift lever capable of selecting an arbitrary shift range among a plurality of shift ranges by a shifting operation; a T-shaped shaft whose horizontal portion is pivotally supported in such a manner as to be rotatable in a longitudinal direction of a vehicle and whose leg portion extends upward; and a connecting portion provided on an outer periphery of the leg portion so as to pivotally support the shift lever in such a manner that the shift lever is rotatable between a first position where a longitudinal direction of the shift lever is parallel with a longitudinal direction of the leg portion and a second position to which the shift lever is rotated in a transverse direction of the vehicle. Accordingly, since the shift lever is connected to the T-shaped shaft, which is stable in terms of its strength, via the connecting portion in such a manner as to be rotatable in a direction perpendicular to the rotating direction of the T-shaped shaft, the shift lever device can be applied to various shift patterns.

A holding device for a connector associated with an electrically controlled automotive mirror is provided such that the connector becomes fixed to a mirror unit. With the connector being fixed to the mirror unit, connections between the connector and mated connectors provided in automotive vehicle bodies may be made in a much easier fashion.

Connections between the control lever and the first connecting member, between the first and second connecting members, between the second and third connecting members, and between the third connecting member and the mirror holder, permit smooth transmission of vertical and horizontal control movements of the lever to the individual members for mirror angle adjustment.
