A display unit includes a substrate including a pixel region including a plurality of pixels and a peripheral region. The display unit includes a plurality of first electrodes, wherein each of the plurality of first electrodes is in a corresponding pixel of the plurality of pixels. The display unit includes a second electrode opposed to the first electrode, wherein the second electrode is common for all of the plurality of pixels. The display unit includes an organic layer between the second electrode and the plurality of first electrodes, wherein the organic layer includes a light-emitting layer. The display unit includes a wiring layer between the substrate and the plurality of first electrodes. The display unit includes an auxiliary electrically-conductive layer including an organic electrically-conductive material, wherein the auxiliary electrically-conductive layer is electrically coupled to the second electrode. The auxiliary electrically-conductive layer is in a recess in the wiring layer.

Display unit

A display unit includes a substrate, a first electrode, a second electrode, an organic layer, and an auxiliary electrically-conductive layer. The substrate includes a pixel region including a plurality of pixels and a peripheral region outside the pixel region. The first electrode is provided for each of the plurality of pixels in the pixel region on the substrate. The second electrode is opposed to the first electrode, and is provided common for the plurality of pixels. The organic layer is provided between the second electrode and the first electrode, and includes a light-emitting layer. The auxiliary electrically-conductive layer includes an organic electrically-conductive material, and the auxiliary electrically-conductive layer is disposed in the pixel region on the substrate and is electrically coupled to the second electrode.

A display unit includes multiple pixels, a first electrode, a partition wall, a light emission layer, and a second electrode. The multiple pixels each have a light emission region and a non-light emission region along a first direction. The first electrode is provided in the light emission region in each of the multiple pixels. The partition wall is provided between each two of the pixels that are adjacent to each other in a second direction. The second direction intersects the first direction. The light emission layer covers the first electrode and is provided in the light emission region and the non-light emission region in a continuous manner. The second electrode faces the first electrode across the light emission layer.

Disclosed is an organic EL display panel having pixels arranged in matrix includes a substrate, pixel electrodes disposed on the substrate for each of the pixels, insulating layers disposed so as to cover each upper part of the pixel electrodes and having not less than three slit-shaped openings extending and arranged in a column direction, partition walls extending in the column direction and partitioning the pixel electrodes in a row direction, organic functional layers disposed on the pixel electrodes and including organic luminous layers configured to cause electroluminescence in each of the openings, and light transmissive counter electrodes disposed on upper parts of the organic functional layers. Levels of top faces of the partition walls are higher than that of the insulating layers. Row-direction widths of openings adjacent to the partition walls in the row direction are larger than row-direction widths of openings not adjacent to the partition walls.

Organic EL display panel, organic EL display device, and manufacturing method of organic display panel

An ink drying process includes exhausting gas from atmosphere surrounding a substrate and drying ink through placing the substrate in a predefined pressure or less to form organic functional layers. Exhausting of gas includes: reducing, during a first period, pressure of the atmosphere from standard atmospheric pressure to a first pressure higher than vapor pressure of solvent having the highest vapor pressure among solvents of the ink; and subsequently reducing, during a second period, the pressure of the atmosphere to a second pressure lower than vapor pressure of solvent having the lowest vapor pressure among the solvents. Where pressure of the atmosphere is 10Pa (X indicating a real number), a change amount average of X per unit time has a greater absolute value during the second period than during the first period.

Method for manufacturing organic EL display panel, and ink drying device

An organic EL display panel includes a substrate, an interlayer insulation layer formed over the substrate, and an organic EL light emitting section formed over the interlayer insulation layer. The organic EL light emitting section includes a plurality of pixel electrodes arranged in a matrix pattern, a plurality of partition walls each of which is disposed between the pixel electrodes adjacent to each other in a row direction and extends in a column direction, an organic layer including a light emitting layer formed in a region partitioned by the partition walls, and a counter electrode formed on an upper side of the organic layer, and includes a first light emitting section for a first color and a second light emitting section for a second color. The first and second light emitting sections are different in thickness of the organic layer and in digging amount of the interlayer insulation layer in the region partitioned by the partition walls.

A display unit includes a display panel, a photochromic layer, and an ultraviolet absorption layer. The photochromic layer is configured to be colored by ultraviolet light and be decolored or color-faded by visible light. Portions of the insulating layer between the first openings adjacent in the column direction are lower in height relative to the pixel electrode than a portion of the insulating layer between the first opening and the second opening.

An organic EL display panel including a substrate, an element array, a planarizing layer, light emitting layers, and a dummy light emitting layer. The element array is disposed above the substrate and includes a light emitting region and a peripheral region that does not emit light surrounding the light emitting region. The planarizing layer is disposed between the substrate and the element array so as to cover the substrate. The light emitting layers are present in the element array in the light emitting region and include organic light emitting material. The dummy light emitting layer is present in the element array in the peripheral region and includes organic light emitting material. A portion of the planarizing layer below the dummy light emitting layer is recessed, and a lower portion of the dummy light emitting layer extends inside the recessed portion.

Organic EL display panel and organic EL display panel manufacturing method

An organic EL display panel with improved visibility is disclosed which includes sub-pixels each emitting light of a color selected from R, G, and B and disposed in a matrix, pixel electrodes disposed above a substrate in the matrix corresponding to the sub-pixels, and column banks row-directionally arranged extending in the column direction. The organic EL display panel further includes pairs of auxiliary column banks extending parallel to the main column banks, disposed in gaps between pairs of the column banks adjacent to each other where the pixel electrodes corresponding to the sub-pixels emitting the B color are present, each pair of the auxiliary column banks covering both edges in the row direction of each of the pixel electrodes therebetween.

A method of manufacturing an organic electroluminescence display panel includes forming pixel electrode layers in a matrix on a substrate. The method includes arranging column banks extending in a column direction above the substrate. The method includes applying ink containing organic light emitting material to gaps between the column banks so that the ink is continuous between ends of the column banks in the column direction. The method includes arranging the substrate and a rectifying plate facing each other, the rectifying plate having a uniform density of through holes, such that the rectifying plate is at a predefined distance from the column banks. The method includes exhausting gas from an environment including the substrate and the rectifying plate. The method further includes heating the substrate to dry the ink to form an organic functional layer. The method includes forming a counter electrode layer above the organic functional layer.

Organic EL display panel manufacturing method and ink drying device

A display apparatus includes a display panel and a driving circuit. The display panel includes signal lines extending in a column direction, scanning lines extending in a row direction, and lead-out lines extending in the column direction. Each of the lead-out lines intersects with corresponding one of the scanning lines at an intersection and is electrically coupled to the corresponding one of the scanning lines at a node. The node is disposed at the intersection or in a region surrounding the intersection. The driving circuit supplies corresponding one of the signal lines with a signal pulse corresponding to an image signal, and supplies corresponding one of the lead-out lines with a selection pulse having a peak value based on a distance from one end of the corresponding one of the lead-out lines to the corresponding node, after increasing the peak value with an increase in the distance.
