A braking force control device can control braking forces of the respective wheels of a vehicle, suppresses an increase of the braking force of a first wheel that is a wheel having a relatively large slip amount in a pair of right/left wheels and increases the braking force of a second wheel that is a wheel having a relatively small slip amount. The braking force control device may suppress the increase of the braking force of the first wheel before the friction coefficient of a road surface to the first wheel reaches a peak and when the friction coefficient is in the vicinity of the peak. It is preferable to suppress the increase of the braking force of the first wheel by holding the braking force of the first wheel.

Braking force control device

A vehicle braking control system includes a wheel cylinder which applies a braking force in accordance with a fluid pressure to a vehicle wheel and a control device which controls the fluid pressure of the wheel cylinder based on the vehicle wheel acceleration. Then, the control device applies the predetermined fluid pressure to the wheel cylinder so as to acquire a return level of the vehicle wheel acceleration and calculates a control target value of the fluid pressure based on a behavior of the vehicle wheel acceleration after starting a sudden braking operation and before starting ABS control.

Vehicle braking control system

A vehicle braking force control apparatus detects a period of time from when a braking force of a brake device is cancelled until a vehicle body speed in the backwards direction of a vehicle on a hill reaches a predetermined state, determines a brake output according to the detected period of time, and controls braking pressure according to the determined brake output. The period of time depends on the gradient of the hill. Therefore, by determining the brake output according to this period of time, braking force control according to the gradient of the hill is made possible even at an extremely slow speed at which the vehicle speed is undetectable.

Vehicle backward movement detection apparatus and vehicle braking force control apparatus

The inventive vehicle behavior control device employs a novel control strategy, suppressing deterioration of a vehicle behavior which would be induced during control processes, and being useful especially for correcting or inhibiting excessive deterioration of a vehicle behavior such as when a risk of rolling-over is detected. The device firstly judges if a possibility of rolling-over of the vehicle is high and calculates a target braking control amount for reducing the possibility of rolling-over in accordance with the result of the judgment of a possibility of rolling-over of the vehicle, where the target control amount when the possibility of rolling-over is high is set higher than when the possibility is low. Then, under control of the inventive control device, wheel braking force is controlled based upon the target braking control amount. After the starting of control of the wheel braking force, however, increasing and decreasing gradients of wheel braking force is restricted when a high possibility of rolling-over is judged.

Vehicle behavior control device

A traction control apparatus for a vehicle sets an allowable slip ratio to a constant value that is rather great, when the shift position of a sub-transmission is in 'H', or the shift position of the sub-transmission is in 'L' and the difference between the maximum value and the minimum value among wheel speeds of each driving wheel is less than a wheel speed difference threshold value. On the other hand, when the shift position of the sub-transmission is in &#x201c;L&#x201d; and the difference is not less than the wheel speed difference threshold value, the traction control apparatus for the vehicle of the present invention sets the allowable slip ratio to a constant value that is smaller than the above-mentioned constant value. In case where the slip ratio of each driving wheel exceeds the allowable slip ratio set as described above, predetermined braking force is exerted on each driving wheel so as to place the slip ratio of each driving wheel within the allowable slip ratio.

Traction control apparatus for vehicle

A device for controlling an over-rolling of a vehicle estimates a first parameter indicative of a rolling amount of the vehicle body, and a second parameter indicative of a change rate of the rolling amount the vehicle body. The device controls the brake system such that the brake system is actuated to accomplish a target deceleration of the vehicle when the first parameter quantity exceeds a predetermined threshold value. The target deceleration is increased from a predetermined minimum value to a predetermined maximum value according to an increase of the second parameter quantity.

Device for controlling over-rolling of vehicle body

Provided is rotational-state-of-wheel detecting apparatus that can avoid output of an incorrect rotational direction during a halt of a wheel. In ECU , a signal input section accurately detects wheel speeds and rotational directions of respective wheels , and, based on the results, respective computers execute ABS control, TC control, and VSC control. On this occasion, switching of the rotational direction is restricted with a computation result of wheel speed of zero, and it is thus feasible to prevent occurrence of a malfunction or state hunting being repetitive switching of signs, due to an external magnetic field during halts of the wheels . This further optimizes the state control of a vehicle.

An executed time of a backward slipping moderation control is counted by a timer, and after a predetermined period of time is elapsed, the control is terminated. Upon the termination of the control, a control of operation of a brake actuator is executed so that a wheel cylinder pressure is decreased with a gentle slope in comparison with a normal operation of the brake actuator for terminating the control. Where the backward slipping moderation control is executed by controlling a brake fluid pressure of the brake actuator, an acceleration &agr; of a vehicle is estimated. If the acceleration is larger than a predetermined value, a target pressure P is increased, thus generating a relatively large braking force.

Running condition control system for vehicle and method

In a vehicle wheel rotation detecting system, a signal input portion of an ECU accurately detects a vehicle wheel speed and a rotating direction of the vehicle wheel speed of the respective wheels. On the basis of the detected results, the respective computers are operated to perform ABS control, TC control and VSC control. When a computing result of the vehicle wheel speed is equal to or greater than a predetermined value, a change in the rotating direction is inhibited. This may prevent an error in the result of detection of the wheel rotating direction owing to an external magnetic filed and the like so as to further optimize the vehicle state control.

Device for controlling spin/driftout of vehicle compatibly with roll control

The invention is directed to a hydraulic braking pressure control system which includes wheel brake cylinders, a pressure generator for supplying a hydraulic braking pressure to the wheel cylinders through two hydraulic pressure circuits, and a pressure control device disposed in the two circuits, between the pressure generator and the wheel cylinders, for controlling the hydraulic pressure in each of the wheel cylinders. The system further includes wheel speed sensors for detecting wheel speeds of the road wheels, respectively, and a braking force controller which controls the braking force by actuating the pressure control device in accordance with control modes provided in response to output signals of the wheel speed sensors. A circuit malfunction detection unit is provided for detecting malfunction caused in either one of the two hydraulic circuits on the basis of output signals of the wheel speed sensors, and a control mode changeover unit is provided for changing over a control mode to another control mode, when the circuit malfunction detection unit detects the malfunction. For example, a wheel speed comparison unit compares the wheel speed in one of the two circuits with the wheel speed in the other circuit, and the circuit malfunction detection unit detects the malfunction on the basis of the compared result of the wheel speed comparison unit.
