An active energy ray-curable antistatic coating composition contains (A) inorganic oxide fine particles having a side chain having a molecular weight of at least 300 and having a functional group and (B) an antistatic agent containing at least a quaternary ammonium salt group-containing polymer, a quaternary ammonium salt group-containing silane coupling agent and/or a hydrolysis condensate of the silane coupling agent, and optionally contains (C) a polyfunctional (meth)acrylate having at least 3 (meth)acryloyl groups in a molecule.

Active energy ray-curable antistatic coating composition

An activation energy beam curable coating composition containing (A) a polymer having an organopolysiloxane unit and a quaternary ammonium salt unit and (B) a polyfunctional acrylate having 3 or more acryloyl groups in the molecule is disclosed. A film excellent in abrasion resistance, antistatic properties and transparency can be formed by applying the activation energy beam curable coating composition of the present invention to the surface of a material, and irradiating the coated surface with an activation energy beam.

The present invention provides a composition comprising (a) a carboxyl-group containing multifunctional acrylate; (b) a multifunctional acrylate having three or more acryloyl groups in the molecule; (c) an organic solvent; and optionally, (d) a photopolymerization initiator, (e) a colloidal metal oxide and (f) an acrylic resin is provided. This composition is applied to a plastic substrate and then irradiated with active energy rays, thereby forming a hard-coating layer having good adhesiveness to the substrate, transparency and hardwearing properties.

An ultraviolet-curing covering composition comprising Component A which is obtained by reacting a hydroxyl group-containing polyfunctional acrylate with a silane coupling agent containing an isocyanate group(s), Component B of a polyfunctional acrylate having 3 or more acryloyl groups in the molecule, Component C of a silica sol in an organic solvent, and Component D of a photopolymerization initiator. This composition forms a coating film shows excellent hardwearing properties and adhesion to plastic substrates after ultraviolet-curing. A process for producing a propylene resin formed article with a hard coat is disclosed, comprising forming an ultraviolet-curing acrylic resin coating film on the surface of a propylene resin film or sheet, subjecting the film or sheet with the coating film to thermoforming, and irradiating the coating film to ultraviolet rays to cure said ultraviolet-curing resin, wherein said propylene resin film or sheet is composed of at least a propylene resin surface layer containing substantially no nucleating agent on which surface is coated said acrylic resin film and a thermoplastic resin base layer containing a nucleating agent which is laminated on the other side of said propylene resin surface layer prior to the thermoforming. The present invention provides a method for forming a cured-resin layer having a surface with antistatic properties. An ultraviolet-curable resin having antistatic properties is laminated on an ultraviolet-curable resin for forming an electrostatic cured surface by curing and the two layers then being simultaneously cured by ultraviolet irradiation thereon. A cured-resin layer is thereby obtained where the surface layer of the cured resin is provided with antistatic properties, and is strongly held by chemical bonding.

A method of forming a hard coat on a polyolefin base, a composite laminate or a formed article is disclosed, which comprises coating the surface of the polyolefin base with an ultraviolet-curable resin composition comprising (a) a polymer containing at least 80% by weight of methyl methacrylate and/or a modified polymer containing at least 80% by weight of methyl methacrylate and having introduced into the side chain thereof a (meth)acryloyl group, (b) a polyfunctional acrylate containing at least 50% by weight of dipentaerythritol hexaacrylate, the weight ratio of components (a) to (b) being from 1 to 10, and (c) a photopolymerization initiator, drying the coating to form an ultraviolet-curable resin layer, and curing the ultraviolet-curable resin layer by irradiation with ultraviolet light.

A novel slow-curing water-curable urethane prepolymer composition obtained by reacting (A) a hydrophilic urethane prepolymer which is a reaction product of a polyisocyanate and a hydrophilic polyol prepolymer and has at least two --NCO groups and (B) a blocking agent selected from a class consisting of heterocyclic compounds having an ##STR1## structure in the molecule thereof, hydroxypyridines and hydroxyquinolines in the proportion that the equivalent ratio of the .dbd.NH groups of the --OH groups in the blocking agent (B) to the --NCO groups in the hydrophilic urethane prepolymer (A), that is, --OH or .dbd.NH/--NCO ratio, is 0.05 to 2 is disclosed. This composition is remarkably useful as a grouting material, for forming hydrogel which is effective as a fixative or carrier of various materials, as a vehicle for coating materials, and as a stabilizer and thickener for aqueous resin emulsions.
