A hydrogen compression system includes: a heat pump part including a heat pump line configured to allow a refrigerant to circulate therethrough, a hydrogen compression part configured to compress hydrogen by being repeatedly heated and cooled, a first circulation line connected to the heat pump line while passing through the hydrogen compression part and configured to allow the refrigerant introduced from the heat pump line to circulate therethrough, a second circulation line provided to pass through the hydrogen compression part and configured to allow a cooling fluid to circulate therethrough, and a cooling unit provided in the second circulation line and configured to cool the cooling fluid, in which the hydrogen compression part is heated by the refrigerant or cooled by the cooling fluid, thereby minimizing electric power consumption and improving energy efficiency.

Hydrogen compression system

Hydrogen storage system () comprising a plurality of storage containers (), each storage container comprising a tubular container wall () and end caps () closing opposite ends of the tubular container wall, and a metal hydride (MH) configured for hydrogen storage contained within a chamber () of the storage container, the plurality of storage containers of one multi-container unit being interconnected by gas flow tubes in a direct fluidic connection ensuring that the gas pressure within the containers are substantially the same. The tubular container wall of each storage container has a diameter in a range from 1.5 cm to 10 cm adjacent ones of said plurality of storage containers of said module being separated by a gap (G) within a range of distance corresponding to 0.02×D to 1×D, D being diameter of the tubular container wall.

Hydrogen storage system

A hydrogen storage-compression system has a hydrogen storage-compression apparatus and a thermal management system. The apparatus includes a casing and a plurality of storage-compression units mounted within an internal chamber of the casing. Each storage-compression unit includes a container and a metal hydride for hydrogen storage-compression contained within the container. The storage-compression containers are interconnected by a hydrogen gas circuit flow system to a hydrogen inlet and outlet for connection to a hydrogen consumer and a hydrogen source. The thermal management system includes a thermal liquid circuit system and a heat exchanger system. The circuit system includes a closed loop thermal liquid flow circuit, a thermal liquid flowing within the flow circuit, and a pump for pumping the thermal liquid in the flow circuit. The flow circuit is connected to a liquid inlet and outlet of the casing for flowing thermal liquid through the internal chamber around the containers of the storage-compression units for cooling or heating thereof. The flow circuit is coupled to a first heat exchanger thermally coupled to heating source and to a second heat exchanger thermally coupled to a cooling source. The system includes a control system connected to the circuit system for controlling the flow of the thermal liquid in the circuit and through the heat exchangers.

Hydrogen storage and compression system

Hydrogen storage system for passive discharge of hydrogen gas without employing heater, comprising a plurality of hydrogen storage tanks each containing at least one metal hydride (MH) storage material, a hydrogen gas flow circuit connected to the storage tanks and a control system including pressure sensors (P) and temperature sensors (T) arranged for measuring the pressure and temperature in each storage tank, the gas flow circuit comprising valves (V, V, . . . Vn) coupling said plurality of storage tanks to an inlet, respectively an outlet of the hydrogen storage system, whereby the inlet and outlet may be common or may be separate. At least a first material storage tank comprises a first metal hydride (MH) of a first composition and at least a second material storage tank comprises a second metal hydride (MH) of a second composition.

The present relates to a combined hydrogen storage-compression unit suitable for the filling of high-pressure (350 bar and beyond) hydrogen vessels. It includes a containment vessel filled with a hydrogen storage alloy, a heating system, a cooling system and a thermal management system. The same shall be connected directly to the hydrogen supply (e.g. an electrolyser) on one side and to the end consumer on the other side. Moreover, it offers the possibility for intermediate storage of at least one time the maximal quantity of hydrogen that is to be supplied at high pressure in a single step.

Combined hydrogen storage - compression system for the filling of high pressure hydrogen tanks
