A connecting device includes a first flexible printed circuit including a bonding end in which a plurality of connecting pads are provided, a first base portion, a junction portion extending between the bonding end and the first base portion, and a plurality of traces extending from the first base portion to the bonding end, a first connector that is mounted on the first base portion, a second flexible printed circuit including a bonding end in which a plurality of connecting pads are provided, a second base portion, a junction portion extending between the bonding end and the second base portion, and a plurality of traces extending from the second base portion to the bonding end, and a second connector that is mounted on the second base portion. The first connector and the second connector are disposed side by side in a same plane.

According to one embodiment, a disk drive includes a first actuator assembly, and a second actuator assembly. In the first actuator assembly, arms each includes a slit provided at a side face of the arm, the slit expending from an extending end of the arm to a first actuator block. The slit is provided such that a central line of the slit in its width direction is offset in position from a central line of the arm in its thickness direction in a direction further away from a boundary plane between the first and second actuator assemblies. The arm have a first inclined face and a second inclined face formed at an open end portion of the slit, the first and second inclined face each inclining in a direction in which an open width of the slit widens.

A magnetic disk apparatus comprises an actuator for swinging a magnetic head substantially in the radial direction of a magnetic disk. First and second magnetic bodies, which individually constitute magnetic circuits between the magnetic bodies and a permanent magnet of a VCM, are fixed to the rear end of the actuator. The first magnetic body is pulled by leakage flux from the permanent magnet to return the actuator to a parking position when the actuator is deviated from the parking position. The second magnetic body is caused by the leakage flux to act so as to return the actuator at least to a position in a range such that a tensile force acts on the first magnetic body when the actuator is moved overpassing that range.

Disclosed is a method and apparatus for printing an image on a print medium with a liquid developer which comprises a liquid carrier and a toner dispersed in the liquid carrier. The printing method has: forming a toner image probably containing the liquid carrier, from the liquid developer; removing the liquid carrier from the toner image; transferring the toner image to the print medium; projecting light radiation on the toner image to be transferred, to measure the optical reflection from the toner image to be transferred; and estimating transfer suitability of the toner image to be transferred, by means of the measured optical reflection from the toner image to be transferred, for appropriately controlling the extent of the removing of the liquid carrier. The printing apparatus has an optical instrument which projects light radiation on the toner image to be transferred and measures the optical reflection from the toner image to be transferred, in order to appropriately control the carrier remover.

Image printing method and image printing apparatus

A color image forming apparatus irradiates a photosensitive drum with exposure light beams to form a plurality of latent images, develops the latent images into visible images, overlies the visible image to form a color image, and transfers the color image to recording paper. In this apparatus, a light reflection surface is formed on the photosensitive drum. Reflected light beams of laser beams from this light reflection surface are detected by a photodetector. The relative positions of the plurality of latent images formed by the laser beams are corrected in accordance with the detection signal from the photodetector. The image registration error of the color image can be accurately corrected without wasting toner or requiring an accurate toner mark detector, and a high-quality color image can be formed at a high speed with a simple arrangement.

Head driving device and method for driving the same for reducing error

The dimension ratio t/H of the thickness t of a flexure spring to the height (thickness) H of a slider 17 is set at 0.047 or less in order to reduce the variation in crown amount due to a temperature variation. As the ratio of the thickness t of the flexure spring to the height H of the slider decreases, the stress acting in the slider due to a difference in linear expansion coefficient between itself and the flexure spring decreases and the rigidity of the slider increases relative to the flexure spring. The dimension ratio H/L of the height H of the slider to the length L thereof is set at 0.245 or more. As the dimension ratio H/L increases, the rigidity of the slider increases and the amount of deformation of the slider due to a difference in linear expansion coefficient between itself and the flexure spring decreases. In addition, the ratio A2/A1 of an actual adhesion area A2 between the slider and a slider fixing portion of the flexure spring to a possible adhesion area A1 therebetween is reduced to 0.42 or less. Moreover, a temperature compensation member is adhered to the slider or the flexure spring.
