A remote starting ECU includes a command recognizing unit and a tuner connecting unit. The remote starting ECU starts an engine of a vehicle when the command recognizing unit receives an engine start command from a remote key or when the tuner connecting unit receives an engine start request from a remote controller.

Starting control apparatus and tuner device

A starting control apparatus that automatically discriminates configuration of a vehicle on which the starting control apparatus is mounted, executes an appropriate starting control, and be widely used is provided. The starting control apparatus prestores therein computer program codes for performing a starting control for normal vehicle and a starting control for hybrid vehicle, discriminates between normal vehicle and hybrid vehicle about the vehicle on which the starting control apparatus is mounted on, and executes one of the starting controls corresponding to a result of discrimination between normal vehicle and hybrid vehicle.

Starting control apparatus

An engine start control apparatus enables a user to start an engine of a vehicle irrespective of a user's operation of ignition key. The engine start control apparatus includes a controller that performs engine start control and a storage unit. When the engine abnormally stops during a period in which the controller performs the engine start control, the storage unit stores at least one of a cause of the abnormal stop and a timing of the abnormal stop.

Engine start control apparatus and engine start control method

A vehicle can have an electronic configuration or a mechanical configuration. In the electronic configuration, a button is operated to start the engine of the vehicle. In the mechanical configuration, a key is inserted in a key cylinder to start the engine of the vehicle. A button signal is output when the button is operated. A key signal is output when the key is inserted in the key cylinder. The configuration of vehicle can be automatically detected based on whether the button signal is output or the key signal is output. An appropriate starting control for the engine is selected based on the configuration of the vehicle.
