Method for obtaining a radiation image

A gradient radiation image conversion sheet, comprising a protective layer a fluorescent layer and a support layer, and the transmissions of said protective layer and/or said fluorescent layer are partially changed and the dots of the print of said gradient patterns and the border between the printed area and the unprinted area are blurred. The gradient image conversion sheet has a gradation area in which the change in transmission is extremely smooth and a speed ratio which may be set in a relatively wide range, and the sheet can be produced through a mass-production system to give products of constant quality.

An intensifying screen comprising: a support, a fluorescent layer on the support and a protective layer on the fluorescent layer, wherein the fluorescent layer is composed essentially of a blue emitting phosphor selected from the group consisting of (1) a M.sup.II WO.sub.4 phosphor wherein M.sup.II is at least one of Mg, Ca, Zn and Cd, (2) a CaWO.sub.4 phosphor, (3) a BaSO.sub.4 :Pb phosphor, (4) a BaSO.sub.4 :Eu.sup.2+ phosphor, (5) a (Ba, Sr)SO.sub.4 :Eu.sup.2+ phosphor, (6) a MeF.sub.2.pMe'X.sub.2.qKX'.rMe'SO.sub.4 :mEu.sup.2+, nTb.sup.3+ phosphor, wherein Me is at least one of Mg, Ca, Sr and Ba, each of Me' and Me' is at least one of Ca, Sr and Ba, each of X and X' is at least one of Cl and Br, and p, q, r, m and n are numbers which satisfy the conditions of 0.80.ltoreq.p.ltoreq.1.5, 0.ltoreq.q.ltoreq.2.0, 0.ltoreq.r.ltoreq.1.0, 0.001.ltoreq.m.ltoreq.0.10 and 0.ltoreq.n.ltoreq.0.05, respectively, provided q+r.noteq.0, (7) a LnOX:Tm phosphor wherein Ln is La or Gd, and X is Cl or Br, (8) a Ln(Ta.sub.1-x, Nb.sub.x)O.sub.4 :Tm phosphor wherein Ln is at least one of La, Y Gd and Lu, and 0.ltoreq.x.ltoreq.0.3, (9) a Y.sub.2 O.sub.2 S:Tb phosphor, (10) a CsI:Na phosphor, (11) a CsI:T1 phosphor, (12) a NaI phosphor, (13) a ZnS:Ag phosphor and (14) a HfP.sub.2 O.sub.7 : Cu phosphor, and wherein at least one of the fluorescent and protective layers is colored with a colorant which has a main absorption peak at a wavelength in the region of 400 to 600 nm.

A radiographic image conversion screen comprising a support, a first fluorescent layer formed on the support and consisting essentially of a blue emitting phosphor and a second fluorescent layer formed on the first fluorescent layer and consisting essentially of a green emitting rare earth oxysulfide phosphor. The green emitting rare earth oxysulfide phosphor is represented by the formula: (Ln.sub.1-i, Yi, Tba, Rb).sub.2 O.sub.2 S where Ln is at least one element selected from the group consisting of La, Ga and Lu, R is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Dy, Pr, Yb and Nd, and i, a and b are numbers within the ranges of 0.ltoreq.i.ltoreq.0.35, 0.0005.ltoreq.a.ltoreq.0.09 and 0.0002.ltoreq.b.ltoreq.0.01 respectively.

A radiographic image conversion screen comprising a support, a first fluorescent layer formed on the support and consisting essentially of a blue emitting phosphor and a second fluorescent layer formed on the first fluorescent layer and consisting essentially of a green emitting rare earth oxysulfide phosphor. A thermoluminescence dosimeter reader having a heater for heating a thermoluminescence element, a light measuring circuit for measuring the intensity of the thermoluminescence emanated from the element when it is heated and a display device for displaying the reading of the dosage of radiation to which the element is exposed according to the intensity of the thermoluminescence is provided with a dosage information inputting means which outputs an electric signal having a value representing a predetermined reference dosage of radiation, a calculating means for calculating a calibration constant which is the ratio between the value of the electric signal and the output value of the light measuring circuit which is the measured value of the dosage of radiation of a reference thermoluminescence element which is exposed to the predetermined reference dosage of radiation, and a memory means for memorizing the calibration constant.

Thermoluminescence dosimeter reader

A radiation image storage panel having a fluorescent layer which comprises a binder and a stimulable phosphor dispersed therein. Further, the panel is colored with a colorant so that the mean reflectance of the panel in the wavelength region of the stimulating rays of the stimulable phosphor is lower than the mean reflectance of the panel in the wavelength region of the light emitted by the stimulable phosphor upon stimulation thereof. The panel provides an image of high sharpness.

An intensifying screen having high physical durability and chemical resistance in which a curable resin is used as a resinous binder of a radioluminescent phosphor can easily be manufactured by employing an ultraviolet radiation-curable resin composition as the resinous binder. A dispersion comprising the ultraviolet radiation-curable resin composition and the radioluminescent phosphor dispersed in the composition is applied to the surface of a support to form a coating on the support, and the coating is cured by exposure to ultraviolet radiation to form a fluorescent layer on the support.
