According to an aspect, a display device includes: a substrate that has a display area; pixels that are provided in the display area and are arranged in a first direction and a second direction intersecting the first direction; gate lines that extend in the first direction and are arranged in the second direction; and a first gate driver and a second gate driver that are configured to supply gate drive signals to the gate lines. The first and second gate drivers are each provided along the second direction and are arranged in the first direction. The first and second gate drivers are configured to: sequentially scan the gate lines in a first area of the display area; and simultaneously scan more than one of the gate lines that are adjacent to one another in the second direction in a second area different from the first area of the display area.

Display device

A display device includes: pixels arranged in a display region; photodiodes provided in two or more of the pixels, respectively; a shift register circuit configured to sequentially output an output signal to the pixels and the photodiodes; a switching circuit configured to switch coupling between the shift register circuit and the pixels, and coupling between the shift register circuit and the photodiodes; and a control circuit configured to control a display period for display by the pixels and a detection period for detection by the photodiodes in a time division manner. The control circuit is configured to sequentially output a gate drive signal to the pixels by an operation of the shift register circuit and the switching circuit in the display period, and sequentially output a sensor control signal to the photodiodes by an operation of the shift register circuit and the switching circuit in the detection period.

A display device, comprising: a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix (row-column configuration) in a display area; a scanning line that is coupled to each of the pixels aligned in a row direction in the display area, and to which a scanning signal is supplied; a signal line that is coupled to each of the pixels aligned in a column direction in the display area, and to which a pixel signal is supplied; a gate driver that supplies the scanning signal to the scanning line; a signal selection circuit that separates the pixel signal that is time-division multiplexed to an image signal; a first control signal output circuit that outputs a first control signal supplied to the gate driver; and a second control signal output circuit that outputs a second control signal supplied to the signal selection circuit.

A display device capable of suppressing the display quality deterioration is provided even if an optically transparent nondisplay area is formed inside the display area of the display panel of the display device. The display device comprises a display panel including signal lines, scanning lines, and pixels that are connected to the signal lines and scanning lines and surrounded by the signal lines and scanning lines. The display panel includes a display area and an optically transparent nondisplay area inside the display area, and a drive circuit for driving the signal lines. The drive circuit includes at least one of a first drive scheme wherein drive voltages are set smaller as distances between adjacent signal lines corresponding to the drive circuit are shorter, a second drive scheme in which the rising speed of drive waveforms are set smaller as distances between adjacent signal lines corresponding to the drive circuit are shorter, and a third drive scheme in which drive times are set longer as distances between adjacent signal lines corresponding to the drive circuit are shorter.

A display device includes a gate scanning circuit and a driver IC. The driver IC includes a voltage detection circuit for detecting a voltage level of an external power supply, a voltage generation circuit for generating the voltage for driving the gate line, a switching circuit for switching between the output voltage of the voltage generation circuit and the voltage of the external power supply, and a drive circuit. Upon detection of the voltage outside of the predetermined voltage range by the voltage detection circuit, the switching circuit supplies the voltage of the external power supply to the gate scanning circuit. The gate scanning circuit selects all gate lines for outputting the voltage of the external power supply. The drive circuit supplies the GND level to all the source lines.

Display device and system with switching to external power supply circuit

A capacitance detection device of a capacitance system includes: a capacitance sensor electrode for detecting a capacitance; a power source for supplying charges to be charged in the capacitance sensor electrode; an electric charge storage capacitor in which an amount of charges to be charged therein changes according to the electric charges charged in the capacitance sensor electrode; and a switch for changing a reference potential of the electric charge storage capacitor. The reference potential of the electric charge storage capacitor is changed in a period of measuring the capacitance.

Coordinate input device and display device with the same

A liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate, a second substrate, and a liquid crystal material sandwiched between the first and second substrate. The second substrate has a touch screen electrode directly on a front-side surface of the second substrate. The first substrate has a wiring line for supplying a position detection voltage. A conductive tape electrically connects between the touch screen electrode and a driver circuit. A polarization plate is disposed above the touch screen electrode.

A capacitive touch panel includes a scanning circuit portion for inputting a drive voltage to each scanning electrode sequentially in 1st to n-th sub detection periods, a capacitance detection circuit portion for detecting a capacitance detection signal of the each detecting electrode in the 1st to n-th groups, and a control circuit portion for calculating a capacitance detection signal change amount from the capacitance detection signals of a plurality of the detecting electrodes detected by the capacitance detection circuit portion, and calculating coordinates of a touch position based on the capacitance detection signal change amounts. The control circuit portion determines, in consecutive sub detection periods, the capacitance detection signal change amount of the each detecting electrode in two groups from which the capacitance detection signals are detected in the consecutive sub detection periods, based on the capacitance detection signals consecutively detected from at least one same detecting electrode.

Touch panel

In RGB time division drives, there is capacitor coupling due to the effects of fluctuation in the drain lines, and thus, the image quality deteriorates (lateral smearing), so that the display brightness becomes different from the desired display brightness due to delay in the convergence of the fluctuation of the common potential, and thus, it is a goal to prevent the image quality from deteriorating (lateral smearing). In RGB time division drives, the order of time division is switched for each frame, or in the direction of the horizontal lines.

Display device with a source signal generating circuit

A coordinate input device includes: a coordinate input unit having a plurality of first detection electrodes and a plurality of second detection electrodes; an electrode drive circuit that applies a drive signal to one or more of the detection electrodes; a detection circuit that detects a signal of the first and/or second detection electrode; a selection circuit for selecting one or more of the detection electrodes to which the drive signal is not applied from among the detection electrodes which are disposed in parallel to the detection electrodes to which the drive signal is applied, as a reference electrode; a detection circuit for detecting a signal of the selected reference electrode; an input coordinate computing circuit for correcting a detection result of the detection circuit on the basis of the detected capacitance of the reference electrode and for calculating an input coordinate from the corrected detection result.

Coordinate input device and display device including the same

The electrostatic capacity coupling type touch panel includes X electrodes (XP) and Y electrodes (YP) which intersect each other via a first insulating layer, and a plurality of Z electrodes in floating states to each other via a second insulating layer. For the second insulating layer, a material which changes in thickness by pressing of touch is used. The Z electrode is disposed so as to overlap both an X electrode and a Y electrode which are adjacent to each other. In a pad part of the X electrode, an area is larger toward the center of the X electrode and an area is smaller toward the center of the adjacent X electrode. Therefore, the nonconductive input means can be used, and highly accurate position detection is realized with a small number of electrodes even when a touch area is small.

A display device includes a display panel, and a flexible printed circuit that is a wiring connected to a terminal on a glass substrate of the display panel, and transmitting an image signal. The display panel includes a master driver circuit element, a slave driver circuit element, and an inter-driver signal line that is a wiring on the glass substrate for conducting a communication between the master driver circuit element and the slave driver circuit element. The flexible printed circuit includes a connection terminal portion that is connected to the terminal on the glass substrate, and an electromagnetic wave blocking portion that extends from the connection terminal portion toward the display area side, and is arranged on the inter-driver signal line, and has a rear surface conductive pattern which is a planer conductive pattern formed on a surface facing the glass substrate.
