A medication support apparatus includes a container, a medicine distribution member, a port, a take-out device, and a transfer device. The container is configured to store one-dose packages of medicines. The medicine distribution member includes a plurality of partitions configured to separately include the one-dose packages of medicines. The medicine distribution member is configured to enter and exit the medication support apparatus through the port. The take-out device is configured to take out a specific one of the one-dose packages of medicines from the container. The transfer device is configured to transfer the specific one of the one-dose packages of medicines taken out from the container. The one-dose packages of medicines are configured to be placed at predetermined positions partitioned by the plurality of partitions in the medicine distribution member.

The present invention relates to a vacuum evacuation system used to evacuate a processing gas from one or more process chambers for use in, for example, a semiconductor-device manufacturing apparatus. The vacuum evacuation system is a vacuum apparatus for evacuating a gas from a plurality of process chambers (). The vacuum evacuation system includes a plurality of first vacuum pumps () coupled to the plurality of process chambers () respectively, a collecting pipe () coupled to the plurality of first vacuum pumps (), and a second vacuum pump () coupled to the collecting pipe ().

A technique capable of improving the ability to observe a specimen using an electron beam in an energy region which has not been conventionally given attention is provided. This specimen observation method comprises: irradiating the specimen with an electron beam; detecting electrons to be observed which have been generated and have obtained information on the specimen by the electron beam irradiation; and generating an image of the specimen from the detected electrons to be observed. The electron beam irradiation comprises irradiating the specimen with the electron beam with a landing energy set in a transition region between a secondary emission electron region in which secondary emission electrons are detected and a mirror electron region in which mirror electrons are detected, thereby causing the secondary emission electrons and the mirror electrons to be mixed as the electrons to be observed. The detection of the electrons to be observed comprises performing the detection in a state where the secondary emission electrons and the mirror electrons are mixed. Observation and inspection can be quickly carried out for a fine foreign material and pattern of 100 nm or less.

An automatic document feeder includes: a recording-medium set unit, on which a recording medium is set; a recording-medium set detecting unit that detects whether the recording medium is set on the recording-medium set unit; a conveying unit that conveys the recording medium; a sheet-feeding cover section that constitutes part of the conveying unit and that includes an openable and closable sheet feeding cover; and a control unit that separately receives a power-on signal, which is output when a power source of an image forming device including the automatic document feeder is turned on, and an energy-saving return signal, which is output when a return is made from an energy saving state where a power source of part of the device is disconnected. When the power-on signal is received, the control unit performs an initialization operation to initialize each unit of the automatic document feeder.

The image reader includes a first reader to read a first image from a first face of a document fed by a document feeder and a second reader to read a second face of the document. An operation mode is switchable between a normal operation mode in which the image reader is in an operation enabled state and an energy-saving mode in which the image reader is in an operation stop state. In a return from the energy saving mode to the normal operation mode, the image reader performs a start-up operation including a first initial operation for returning the first reader to the normal operation mode and then performs a second initial operation for returning the second reader to the normal operation mode.

An electro-optical inspection apparatus is provided that is capable of preventing adhesion of dust or particles to the sample surface as much as possible. A stage () on which a sample () is placed is disposed inside a vacuum chamber () that can be evacuated to vacuum, and a dust collecting electrode () is disposed to surround a periphery of the sample (). The dust collecting electrode () is applied with a voltage having the same polarity as a voltage applied to the sample () and an absolute value that is the same or larger than an absolute value of the voltage. Thus, because dust or particles such as particles adhere to the dust collecting electrode (), adhesion of the dust or particles to the sample surface can be reduced. Instead of using the dust collecting electrode, it is possible to form a recess on a wall of the vacuum chamber containing the stage, or to dispose on the wall a metal plate having a mesh structure to which a predetermined voltage is applied. In addition, adhesion of dust or particles can be further reduced by disposing a gap control plate () having a through hole () at the center above the sample () and the dust collecting electrode ().

According to an embodiment, an ADF includes: a sheet-feed cover unit; a switch unit to be switched on or off depending on whether the sheet-feed cover unit is open or closed and including a first terminal, to which a first voltage, by which a driving motor is driven, is input, and a second terminal connected to the driving motor; and an open/close-detection circuit unit that includes a first switch circuit and a second switch circuit. The first switch circuit is switched on or off based on a threshold voltage that is larger than a second voltage to be generated in the driving motor by a jammed-document removing motion and smaller than the first voltage.
