In an IC card, an operating system manages the access order of each channel for each file using a channel management table. An application controls access to each file based on the access order managed in the channel management table. The channel management table stores, as an access order, an order that each logical channel has set a file in a current state. If current setting by a specific logical channel is canceled, a table updating function deletes the logical channel from the channel management table and moves up the access order of each logical channel next to the deleted logical channel.

An apparatus for photochemically decomposing a photoresist is disclosed wherein processing time can be minimized by inducing a uniform photochemical oxidative decomposing reaction over the whole surface of a base board, and an ozone gas atmosphere can be utilized efficiently. The apparatus includes a rotatable circular table supporting one or more base boards and an ashing platform arranged around the periphery of the table including an ozone feeding slit and an ozone discharge slit. The apparatus also includes a plurality of ultraviolet ray lamps arranged inside a box-shaped vessel located above the ashing platform. An upper cover plate is pivotally mounted on the ashing platform and includes a transparent window plate through which the ultraviolet rays pass to irradiate the base boards. An airtight flat space is formed between the ashing platform and the upper cover to contain the ozone atmosphere.

A manually operable sweeping-type compact printer apparatus includes a key entry unit, a display unit, a memory unit, an encoder and a printer unit which are mounted on a manually manipulatable housing. When the housing is manually moved over a printing medium with the printer unit in contact with the printing medium, data entered by the key entry unit is printed out on the printing medium. In the printer apparatus, only designated segments or lengths of data are printed out on the printing medium, independent of continued travel or movement of the housing. Also, even if the housing is moved over the printing medium at an unstable moving velocity, high printing quality can be realized by control of the printing head. Stop codes designating the end of a data segment can be automatically or manually inserted.

A grandular product is prepared by fluidizing core material such as saccharide in a granulating chamber, spraying melted binding material such as fat to the fluidized core material and concurrently feeding dried viable microorganism cells such as bifidobacterium towards the fluidized core material to form a granular product having stratified structure by adhering microorganism cells on the periphery of the core material. Since the product is prevented from permeation of atmospheric oxygen and environmental moisture, the cell survival rate of the product is higher than that of the conventional product during prolonged storage periods.

A manual sweeping apparatus comprising a housing, rollers which can rotate in contact with an original or a sheet of paper, an image sensor, a printer, memories, and a key-input section. When the housing is swept across an original, with the rollers kept in contact with the original, the image sensor reads the image information from the original. The image information is stored in one of the memories. Character data is input by operating the key-input section, and is stored in another one of the memories. Thereafter, when the housing is swept across a sheet of paper, with the rollers kept in contact with the paper, both the image data and the character data are printed, in a combined form, on the sheet of paper.

Manual sweeping apparatus

A thermal printing system having a plurality of thermal elements aligned on a straight line in the direction perpendicular to the moving direction of a thermal paper for printing characters on a dot matrix principle has been found. Each thermal element is selectively energized by a power pulse according to the desired pattern to be printed, and the pulse width of said power pulse which is applied to a thermal element is controlled according to the moving speed of a thermal paper and/or the status (black/white) of the previously printed several dots so that the desired concentration or color density is obtained. A digital memory which stores the status of the previously printed dots or the duration between the time that the last black dot is printed and the present time is provided, and according to that digital memory, the trigger pulse for initiating the power pulse for each thermal element is defined. Thus, a thermal paper is always heated to a proper temperature to provide the desired printed concentration in spite of the change of the moving speed of a thermal paper and/or the status of the previously printed dots. Then, the high speed printing and/or the variable speed printing is obtained.

A method of treating organic waste water in an aeration tank is characterized by the fact that (1) the dissolved oxygen content in the aeration tank is adjusted to be within the range of 1.5-4.5 ppm; (2) the temperature of the waste water is controlled to be within the range of 15.degree.-40.degree. C. and the residence time of the waste water in the aeration tank is set at ten or more days if the ratio of the total carbon content to the nitrogen content of the organic materials contained in the waste water (TOC/N) is not less than 5, and the temperature of the waste water is controlled to be within the range of 20.degree.-40.degree. C. and the residence time of the waste water in the aeration tank is set at ten or more days if the TOC/N is less than 5 and not less than 2.5, and (3) the activated sludge content in the aeration tank is kept constant by controlling the amount of COD to be removed according to the equation:
