Provided is a method of producing a planographic printing plate, including: subjecting a planographic printing plate precursor, which has a support and a positive-working image recording layer, to image-wise exposure; and developing it using an alkaline aqueous solution which contains a specific compound and has a pH of from 8.5 to 10.8, in this order. The recording layer has: a lower layer containing a water-insoluble and alkali-soluble resin and an infrared ray absorbing agent; and an upper layer containing a water-insoluble and alkali-soluble polyurethane resin and a polyorganosiloxane. The specific compound is a nonionic or anionic surfactant, or at least one compound represented by Formula (1) or (2), wherein R, R, and Reach represent an alkyl group; Rrepresents an alkylene group; and Rrepresents a single bond or a divalent linking group containing a hetero atom; and R, R, and Reach represent an alkyl group. 

Method for producing a planographic printing plate

A lithographic printing plate precursor in a positive-type with an infrared-sensitivity, having a support and an image recording layer provided on the support, the support having a hydrophilic surface, the recording layer having a particular resin, an amphoteric surfactant and/or an anionic surfactant, and an infrared absorbing agent, wherein the particular resin being at least one of resins selected from the group consisting of a polyurethane resin, a poly(vinyl acetal) resin, and maleimide resin A.

Lithographic printing plate precursor and method of preparing the same

A method of making a planographic printing plate includes exposing, to infrared light, a planographic printing plate precursor including a recording layer provided on a substrate, and developing the precursor using an aqueous alkaline solution. The recording layer comprises a copolymer containing a structural unit derived from (meth)acrylonitrile and at structural unit derived from styrene, a water-insoluble and alkali-soluble resin, and an infrared absorbing agent, the solubility of the recording layer in the aqueous alkaline solution being increased by the exposure. The aqueous alkaline solution has a pH of 8.5 to 10.8 and contains a betaine-based amphoteric surfactant and an ammonium salt represented by Formula (I): 

Method of making planographic printing plate and planographic printing plate

A positive-working lithographic printing plate precursor for infrared laser is provided that includes, layered sequentially above a support, a lower layer and an upper layer, the lower layer and/or the upper layer including an infrared absorbing agent, either the lower layer comprising an alkali-soluble group-containing graft copolymer or the upper layer comprising a sulfonamide group-, active imide group-, and/or amide group-containing graft copolymer, and the graft copolymer being a polyurethane resin having as a graft chain an ethylenically unsaturated monomer-derived constitutional unit. There is also provided a process for making a lithographic printing plate, the process including in sequence an exposure step of imagewise exposing by means of an infrared laser the positive-working lithographic printing plate precursor for infrared laser and a development step of developing using an aqueous alkali solution with a pH of 8.5 to 10.8.

There is provided a lithographic printing plate precursor that enables image recording using a laser and that provides an excellent scumming resistance and an excellent developability while maintaining a satisfactory printing durability. Also provided are a platemaking method, and a novel polymerizable monomer. A lithographic printing plate precursor has a support, and an image recording layer disposed thereon and containing a radical polymerization initiator and a polymerizable monomer that has a sulfonamide group and at least two ethylenically unsaturated groups; a lithographic printing plate platemaking method uses this lithographic printing plate precursor; and a polymerizable monomer has a sulfonamide group and at least two ethylenically unsaturated groups.

A method for producing a planographic printing plate is provided, which includes: subjecting a planographic printing plate precursor to image-wise exposure, wherein the precursor includes plural recording layers at least one of which contains (A) an infrared absorbing agent on a support, the upper recording layer contains (B) a water-insoluble and alkali-soluble polymer compound having a repeating unit containing a fluoroalkyl group or a siloxane structure; and developing the precursor using an alkali developer containing (C)an ammonium salt compound of Formulae (C-1) to (C-3), wherein Rrepresents a methyl group or an ethyl group, Rand Rrepresent a hydrocarbon group having 3 to 20 carbon atoms, Rrepresents a hydrocarbon group, A represents an atomic group which forms a nitrogen-containing aliphatic ring with N, B represents an atomic group which forms a nitrogen-containing aromatic ring with N, and Xrepresents a counter anion. 

Method of producing a planographic printing plate

Provided is a method of producing a planographic printing plate, including: subjecting a planographic printing plate precursor, to image-wise exposure; and developing it using an alkaline aqueous solution which contains a specific compound and has a pH of from 8.5 to 10.8, in this order. The recording layer has: a lower layer containing a water-insoluble and alkali-soluble resin and an infrared ray absorbing agent; and an upper layer containing a water-insoluble and alkali-soluble polyurethane resin and a polyorganosiloxane. The specific compound is a nonionic or anionic surfactant, or at least one compound represented by Formula (1) or (2), wherein R, R, and Reach represent an alkyl group; Rrepresents an alkylene group; and Rrepresents a single bond or a divalent linking group containing a hetero atom; and R, R, and Reach represent an alkyl group. 

A lithographic printing plate precursor in a positive-type with an infrared-sensitivity, having a support and an image recording layer provided on the support, the support having a hydrophilic surface, the recording layer having a particular resin, an amphoteric surfactant and/or an anionic surfactant, and an infrared absorbing agent, wherein the particular resin being at least one of resins selected from the group consisting of a polyurethane resin, a poly (vinyl acetal) resin, and maleimide resin A.

A negative-working lithographic printing plate precursor is disclosed that can be developed on the press without going through a development processing step, and a method of lithographic printing is also disclosed that uses this negative-working lithographic printing plate precursor. Also disclosed are a negative-working lithographic printing plate precursor that can be developed by a water-soluble resin-containing aqueous solution and a method of lithographic printing that uses this negative-working lithographic printing plate precursor. A negative-working lithographic printing plate precursor is provided that exhibits an excellent fine line reproducibility in nonimage areas even when printing is performed using ultraviolet-curing ink (UV ink). Also provided is a negative-working lithographic printing plate precursor that exhibits an excellent combination of fine line reproducibility and printing durability and that resists the production of scum during on-press development. The negative-working lithographic printing plate precursor has a support and has thereon a photopolymerizable layer that contains a polymer compound that has the urea bond in the main chain and a hydrophilic group and a carboxylic acid content less than 0.05 meq/g. The method of lithographic printing uses this negative-working lithographic printing plate precursor.

Negative-working lithographic printing plate precursor and method of lithographic printing using same

The invention provides a planographic printing plate precursor comprising: a hydrophilic support; and an image recording layer that is provided on the support, the image recording layer comprising: an infrared ray absorbing agent (A); a polymerization initiator (B); a polymerizable monomer (C); and a specific polymer compound (D) having an alkyleneoxy group in its molecule and having, in a side chain thereof at least one specific group. The invention further provides a printing method using the planographic printing plate precursor, wherein no specific development process is required for performing printing.

Planographic printing plate precursor and printing method using the same

The invention provides a planographic printing plate precursor having at least: a support; and an image recording layer that is provided on the support, the image recording layer comprising: an infrared ray absorbing agent (A); a polymerization initiator (B); a polymerizable compound (C); and a compound (D) represented by the following Formula (I). In Formula (I), at least one of Rto Rrepresents &#x2014;(CHCHO)&#x2014;R, while the remainder of Rto Rrespectively independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or R&#x2014;COOH; Rrepresents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; n represents an integer of 1 to 20; and Rrepresents an alkylene group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms. The invention further provides a printing method using the planographic printing plate precursor and performing on-press development.

A negative-working lithographic printing plate precursor is disclosed that can be developed on the press without going through a development processing step, and a method of lithographic printing is also disclosed that uses this negative-working lithographic printing plate precursor. A negative-working lithographic printing plate precursor is provided that exhibits excellent on-press developability, nonimage area fine line reproducibility and printing durability and that resists the production of scum during on-press development. The negative-working lithographic printing plate precursor has a hydrophilic support and has thereon a photopolymerizable layer that contains at least one selected from the group consisting of a polymer compound that has an ethylenically unsaturated bond in the side chain position, a hydrophilic group and a sulfonamide group and a polymer compound that has an ethylenically unsaturated bond in the side chain position, a hydrophilic group and a cyclic structure derived from a maleimide. The method of lithographic printing uses this negative-working lithographic printing plate precursor.

An image forming method in which a planographic printing plate precursor having, on a support, an image recording layer containing (A) a polymerization initiator, (B) a polymerizable compound, and (C) a binder polymer, and having photosensitivity in a wavelength range of 250 nm to 420 nm, is subjected to exposure using laser light in the wavelength range of 250 nm to 420 nm, and a one-pixel drawing time is one millisecond or less, a planographic printing plate precursor having the image recording layer which further contains (D) a compound having a polymerizable group and a support adsorptive group, or (F) a filler, and a planographic printing method including development-on-machine, are provided.
