A sparkle contrast correcting method includes a step of acquiring a first sparkle contrast that is caused by an anti-glare layer that is disposed on a surface of an electronic display and information that represents a first measurement condition, the first sparkle contrast being used as a comparison standard and being measured in the first measurement condition by using a first imaging lens that images emitted light from the anti-glare layer and a first two-dimensional image sensor on which the emitted light is imaged, a step of acquiring a second sparkle contrast that is caused by the anti-glare layer and information that represents a second measurement condition, the second sparkle contrast being used as a comparison target and being measured in the second measurement condition that differs from the first measurement condition by using a second imaging lens that images emitted light from the anti-glare layer and a second two-dimensional image sensor on which the emitted light is imaged, and a step of correcting the second sparkle contrast, based on a ratio between the first measurement condition and the second measurement condition for comparison with the first sparkle contrast.

An optical laminate is provided, which prevents the occurrence of interface reflection and interference fringes at the interface between a light transparent base material and an antistatic layer has been effectively prevented. The optical laminate includes a light transparent base material and an antistatic layer and a hardcoat layer provided in that order on the light transparent base material. The hardcoat layer is formed on the antistatic layer using a composition for a hardcoat layer including a resin and a penetrative solvent. The penetrative solvent penetrates into the antistatic layer and the light transparent base material so that the antistatic agent contained in the antistatic layer disperses into the antistatic layer or the light transparent base material.

Optical laminate

An optical laminate is provided which effectively prevents the occurrence of interface reflection and interference infringes by eliminating the interface between a light transparent base material and a hard coat layer. The optical laminate includes a light transparent base material, and an optical modulating layer and a hard coat layer provided on the light transparent base material, in that order. The optical modulating layer includes a component constituting the light transparent base material and a component constituting the hard coat layer.

An anti-dazzling film is provided, which includes a triacetylcellulose film and an anti-dazzling layer provided on the triacetylcellulose film. The anti-dazzling layer includes a coating composition including an acrylic light transparent resin, plastic light transparent fine particles, and a leveling agent including a copolymer including (meth)acrylic acid repeating units containing at least one perfluoroalkyl group having 8 or more carbon atoms and (meth)acrylic acid repeating units having at least one bornane ring. A low-refractive index layer is provided on the anti-dazzling film to constitute an antireflection film.

An antireflection film containing a transparent substrate film, a hard coat layer on the substrate film, and first and second refractive index layers on the hard coat layer. The hard coat layer has a refractive index higher than the refractive index of the transparent substrate film; the first refractive index layer has a refractive index higher than the refractive index of the hard coat layer; the second refractive index layer has a refractive index lower than the refractive index of the hard coat layer.

The refractive index of the antiglare layer is higher than the refractive index of a layer in contact with said antiglare layer on its surface remote from the layer having a low refractive index. An SiO film may be used as the layer having a low refractive index. The SiO film per se has excellent gas barrier property and antifouling property as an optical functional membrane and is an optical functional material characterized by having excellent moistureproofness, scratch resistance, adhesion to a substrate, transparency, low refractive index, dye deterioration preventive property, and other properties.

A antiglare layer 12 having a fine uneven surface is formed directly or through other layer(s) on a transparent substrate film 11, and a layer 13 having a low refractive index, which is lower than the refractive index of the antiglare layer 12, is formed thereon. The refractive index of the antiglare layer 12 is higher than the refractive index of a layer in contact with said antiglare layer 12 on its surface remote from the layer 13 having a low refractive index. An SiO.sub.x film may be used as the layer 13 having a low refractive index. The SiO.sub.x film per se has excellent gas barrier property and antifouling property as an optical functional membrane and is an optical functional material characterized by having excellent moistureproofness, scratch resistance, adhesion to a substrate, transparency, low refractive index, dye, deterioration preventive property, and other properties. A layer 13 having a low refractive index as a surface layer is formed through other layer(s) on a transparent substrate film 11, and at least one of the other layer(s) is a hard coat layer 12 of 0.5 .mu.m or more in thickness, having a high refractive index, composed mainly of a resin. The hard coat layer 12 having a high refractive index is in direct contact with a layer 13 having a low refractive index. The refractive index of the hard coat layer 12 having a high refractive index is higher than the refractive index of a layer in contact with the hard coat layer 12 having a high refractive index on its surface remote from the layer 13 having a low refractive index. For use, the antireflection film is laminated to a polarizing plate or a liquid crystal display device.
