When a connection control device determines that the connection control device is in a congested state, based on whether a usage of at least one of hardware resources necessary for call processing to establish a call connection is equal to or more than a predetermined threshold value, the CPU of the connection control device forcefully disconnects an established call connection after a connection available time elapses, and, when an INVITE message is transmitted from a terminal device, the CPU of the connection control device receives the INVITE message, calculates the wait time, creates and transmits a response message stating the wait time, and stores the message as a reserved call on a reservation list.

A file sharing system implemented on a system having a server system and a plurality of client systems connected to the server system via a network. The file sharing system includes a WWW server provided in the server system, a first storage unit provided in the server system and storing files, a WWW-server-function extension unit provided in the server system and operating in association with the WWW server to control the files based on file identifiers. An electronic mail transfer system including an information processing station and a telephone exchange system. The information processing system accommodates a plurality of terminals and has an electronic mail transmitting function. The telephone exchanging system accommodates a plurality of telephones interrelated to the respective terminals and each having an input element. The telephone exchanging system operates to monitor an input operation performed by the input elements of each telephone, and transmits information indicative of the input operation to the information processing system. The information processing system operates to control an electronic mail transfer operation based on the information indicative of the input operation transmitted from the telephone exchanging system, to transfer electronic mail destined for a terminal to a predetermined transfer destination if no input operation is performed at a telephone corresponding to the terminal and to not transfer the electronic mail if an input operation is performed at the telephone.

A call transfer system is disclosed which comprises: an information processing system accommodating a plurality of terminals each having input means; and a telephone exchanging system accommodating a plurality of telephones preliminarily interrelated to the respective terminals; the information processing system monitoring an input operation performed by the input means of each of the terminals, and transmitting information indicative of the input operation to the telephone exchanging system; the telephone exchanging system controlling a call transfer operation, based on the information on the input operation transmitted from the information processing system, to transfer a call received by a telephone to a predetermined transfer destination if no input operation is performed at a terminal corresponding to the telephone, and not to transfer the call if an input operation is performed at the terminal.
