To provide a biaxially oriented polyester film that has extremely low content of antimony, excellent hygiene, few foreign substances, excellent transparency and heat resistance, and is excellent in printability, workability, and productivity. A biaxially oriented polyester film characterized by a content of antimony in the film of 10 ppm or less, a content of phosphorus in the film of 25 ppm or more and 75 ppm or less, an intrinsic viscosity of the film of 0.51 dl/g or more and 0.70 dl/g or less, and a number of defects with a size of 1 mm or more is 1.0 or less per 1000 square meters of the film.

Biaxially oriented polyester film

[Problem] To provide a heat-shrinkable polyester film having excellent shrink finishing property due to the film's sufficient heat shrinkability and low shrinkage stress in the longitudinal direction, small change in the non-shrinkable direction of the film. [Solution] The heat-shrinkable polyester film which heat-shrinks in the longitudinal direction and satisfying the following (1) to (6); (1) having a shrinkage of 35% to 70% in the longitudinal direction; (2) having a shrinkage of −8% to 7% in the width direction; (3) having a change rate of 5% to 22% when fixed in the longitudinal direction with fixed-length; (4) having a change rate of 5% to 20% in the width direction when fixed with 10% of slack in the longitudinal direction; (5) having a maximum shrinkage stress of 5 MPa to 15 MPa in the longitudinal direction; (6) having a stress at 10% elongation, F10, of 1 MPa to 5 MPa in the longitudinal direction and 0.5 MPa to 3 MPa in the width direction.

Heat-shrinkable polyester film having longitudinal (lengthwise) direction as main shrinkage direction

To provide a biaxially-oriented polyester film roll that is excellent in transparency and heat resistance and has less defects. A biaxially oriented polyester film roll of the present invention characterized by satisfying requirements (1) a winding length of the film roll, (2) a width of the film roll, (3) an average hardness of an outermost surface layer of the polyester film roll, (4) a variation in hardness, (5) a thickness of a polyester film of the polyester film roll, and (6) an irregularity of thickness in the maximum concave portion.

Biaxially oriented polyester film roll

The invention provides a heat-shrinkable polyester-based film roll obtained by winding a heat-shrinkable polyester-based film with a shrinkage ratio of 30% or more in a film main shrinkage direction in hot water at 90&#xb0; C. for 10 seconds. The film roll has a winding length of 2000-25000 m and a width of 400-2500 mm. The film has a thickness of 5-40 &#x3bc;m. In thickness unevenness in a width direction of the film on a surface layer of the film roll, there are positions having concave thickness patterns, and in a concave portion that has a maximum thickness difference (maximum concave portion), thickness unevenness in the maximum concave portion, which is obtained from the maximum thickness difference in the maximum concave portion and an average thickness of the film is 10% or less. The winding hardness of the surface layer of the film roll is 400-800.

Heat-shrinkable polyester-based film roll

The invention provides a heat-shrinkable polyester film roll containing a paper tube and a heat-shrinkable polyester film wound around the paper tube to form the heat-shrinkable polyester film roll, wherein (1) the film winding length is 2000-20000 m, (2) the film width is 400-2500 mm, (3) the film thickness is 5-30 &#x3bc;m, (4) unevenness in thickness in the film widthwise direction in a film roll surface layer part is 12% or less, (5) the paper tube has an inner diameter of 3 inches, a difference in clearance of the paper tube in a widthwise direction after removal of the film from the film roll is 0.5 mm or less, and a flat compressive strength of the paper tube after removal of the film is 1700 N/100 mm or more, and (6) the average value of winding hardness in the widthwise direction in the film roll surface layer part is 500-850.

Heat-shrinkable polyester film roll

The inventive label is prepared from a polyester with an intrinsic viscosity of 0.58 dl/g or more. The label has a base film with a thickness of 8-30 &#x3bc;m and a difference in specific heat capacity &#x394;Cp between temperatures lower and higher than Tg of 0.2 J/(g&#xb7;&#xb0; C.) or more. The label has a tensile elongation at break of 5% or more in both a main shrinkage direction and an orthogonal direction. A difference between the absorbancy ratio (absorbancy at 1340 cm/absorbancy at 1410 cm) in the main shrinkage direction of the label and the absorbancy ratio in the direction orthogonal to the main shrinkage direction of the label is 0.2 or more. The label has a difference between a maximum value and a minimum value of a length in a vertical direction of the label of 3 mm or less.

The present invention provides a void-containing heat-shrinkable polyester film which has satisfactory shrinkage finishing properties and printability even if productivity is improved. The void-containing heat-shrinkable polyester film is a multilayer structure having a non-foamed layer on both outer sides of the foamed layer, and by controlling the film thickness, density, and number of moles of the amorphous component on both outer sides, specific heat shrinkage characteristics and gloss can be improved.

Void-containing heat-shrinkable polyester film

The invention provides a heat-shrinkable polyester film in which the differences in physical properties in the width direction are reduced even if the film has a small thickness. The heat-shrinkable polyester film has a main shrinkage direction in a width direction of the film and has (1) a thickness of 6-27 &#x3bc;m; (2) a maximum value of the molecular orientation angle of 5 degrees or less; (3) a hot-water shrinkage at 90&#xb0; C. in the width direction of the film 40-85%; (4) a difference between a maximum value and a minimum value of the hot-water shrinkage at 90&#xb0; C. in the width direction of the film of 2% or less; and (5) a difference between a maximum value and a minimum value of the maximum shrinkage stress at 90&#xb0; C. in the width direction of the film of less than 0.3 MPa.

Heat-shrinkable polyester film and package

The present invention provides a heat-shrinkable polyester film with very good perforation-tear property and also very high productivity. A heat-shrinkable polyester film made of a polyester resin including ethylene terephthalate as a main constituent and containing 15% by mole or more of at least one monomer capable of forming an amorphous component in the whole components of the polyester resin, which exhibits specific heat shrinkage properties and specific mechanical properties after the heat shrinkage.

A heat-shrinkable polyester type film has a dynamic friction coefficient of at least one face with one face of another film of &#x3bc;d&#x2266;0.27 and range R&#x2266;0.05 and a weight loss of less than 0.24 g/mafter 10 reciprocation times with 400 g load using a color fastness rubbing tester comprising a friction element bearing a sand paper with #1000 particle diameter.

A film roll of a heat-shrinkable polyester film characterized in that the heat-shrinkable polyester film meets the following requirements (1) and (2). (1) When samples are cut off therefrom at an almost equal interval along the longitudinal direction, and immersed in hot water at 85&#xb0; C. for 10 seconds, subsequently in water at 25&#xb0; C. and withdrawn, heat-shrinkage percentages in the maximum shrinkage direction of all the samples are 20% or more. (2) When raw polymers used for production of the film above comprises of a major constitutional unit and one or more sub constitutional units different therefrom; and the content of the primary sub constitutional unit is determined, the content of the primary sub constitutional unit in each sample is more than 7 mole % in 100% of all constitutional units, and when an average of the contents of the primary sub constitutional unit is calculated, the contents thereof of all the samples fall within a range of &#xb1;2 mole % relative to the average.

Heat-shrinkable polyester film roll and a process for producing the same

In the heat-shrinkable polyester film of the present invention, the main shrinkage direction is the longitudinal direction. In addition, the hot-water heat shrinkage ratios in the longitudinal direction and the width direction when the film is treated in hot water at 90&#xb0; C. for 10 seconds, the refractive indexes in the longitudinal direction and the width direction and the natural shrinkage ratio after aging at 40&#xb0; C. and 65% RH for 700 hours or more are each controlled in predetermined ranges. The heat-shrinkable polyester film of the present invention is manufactured by stretching an unstretched film at a ratio of 2.5 times or more and 6.0 times or less in the width direction at a temperature of Tg+5&#xb0; C. or more and Tg+40&#xb0; C. or less, passing the film in an intermediate zone that does not execute an active heating operation, heat-treating the film at a temperature of 100&#xb0; C. or more and 170&#xb0; C. or less over a period of 1.0 second or more and 10.0 seconds or less, cooling the film to a surface temperature of 30&#xb0; C. or more and 70&#xb0; C. or less, stretching the film at a ratio of 2.0 times or more and 7 times or less in the longitudinal direction at a temperature of Tg+5&#xb0; C. or more and Tg+80&#xb0; C. or less, and subsequently cooling the film at a cooling rate of 30&#xb0; C./second or more and 70&#xb0; C./second or less to a surface temperature of the film of 45&#xb0; C. or more and 75&#xb0; C. or less.

Heat-shrinkable polyester film and process for production thereof

In heat-shrinkable polyester films, the content of 1,4-cyclohexane dimethanol is 10 to 50% by mole based on the polyhydric alcohol component and that the heat shrinkage factors of a 10 cm square sample of the films in (A) hot water of 75&#xb0; C., (B) hot water of 85&#xb0; C., and (C) hot water of 95&#xb0; C. are 30 to 40%, 50 to 60%, and 65 to 77%, respectively. The films can be produced by drawing under specified conditions.

Heat-shrinkable polyester films

To provide a heat shrinkable film that, when used as a label of beverage container, enhances the smoothness of external surface side to thereby prevent merchandise jamming in an automatic vending machine of beverage and that is fully satisfactory in solvent bonding capability and excels in processability. There is provided a heat shrinkable polyester film characterized in that (A) at least one major surface thereof is overlaid with 0.002 to 0.5 g/m, in terms of solid content coating amount of a silicone containing easily slipping layer, (B) a friction coefficient between one and the same easily-slipping layer satisfies a relationship of &#x3bc;d&#x2266;0.27, and that (C) the heat shrinkable polyester film exhibits a heat shrinkage percentage of not less than 50% in a maximum shrinkage direction, after immersion in hot water at 95&#xb0; C. for 10 seconds. Thus, there is provided the heat shrinkable film that when used as a label of beverage container, enhances the smoothness of external surface side to thereby prevent merchandise jamming in an automatic vending machine of beverage and that is fully satisfactory in solvent bonding capability and excels in processability.

The present invention provides a heat shrinkable polyester film whose hot water shrinkage along its main shrinkage direction is equal to or greater than 20% when the film is put in hot water of 70&#xb0; C. for 5 sec; 35% to 55% when put in hot water of 75&#xb0; C. for 5 sec; and 50% to 60% when put in hot water of 80&#xb0; C. for 5 sec, wherein the compressive strength of the label formed by the film satisfies a following expression (1):Y&#x3e;X&#x2003;&#x2003;(1)
