An organic electroluminescent device having a capping layer composed of material having a high refractive index, excelling in thin film stability and durability and having no absorption in the respective wavelength ranges of blue, green, and red is provided to improve device characteristics of the organic electroluminescent device, particularly to greatly improve light extraction efficiency. The organic electroluminescent device has at least an anode electrode, a hole transport layer, a light emitting layer, an electron transport layer, a cathode electrode, and the capping layer in this order, wherein the capping layer contains an arylamine compound (X) having a structure in which two triphenylamine structures are joined within a molecule via a single bond or a divalent group that does not contain a heteroatom.

Organic electroluminescent device

According to the present invention, there is provided an organic electroluminescence element including at least an anode, a hole injection layer, a hole transport layer, a light-emitting layer, an electron transport layer, and a cathode in the stated order, the organic electroluminescence element being characterized in that: the hole injection layer contains an arylamine compound represented by the following general formula (1) and an electron acceptor. The organic EL element of the present invention has a high light emission efficiency and an excellent durability, as compared with the related art, while maintaining the existing low drive voltage.

Organic electroluminescence element

Object To provide an organic electroluminescence device including, in order to improve the device characteristics of the organic electroluminescence device, particularly, to absorb light having the wavelengths of from 400 nm to 410 nm from sunlight, not to affect a material inside the device, and to significantly improve the light extraction efficiency, a capping layer formed of a material that has a high absorption coefficient, a high refractive index, and an excellent stability, durability, and light resistance of a thin film, and does not absorb light in the blue, green, and red wavelength range. Solving Means An organic electroluminescence device including at least an anode electrode, a hole transport layer, a light emitting layer, an electron transport layer, a cathode electrode, and a capping layer in the stated order, in which the capping layer includes a material having an extinction coefficient of not less than 0.3 at wavelengths of from 400 nm to 410 nm and an absorbance of not less than 0.2 at wavelengths of from 400 nm to 410 nm in an absorption spectrum of a concentration of 10mol/l.

Organic electroluminescence device

The organic EL device of the present invention has an anode, a hole transport layer, a luminous layer, an electron transport layer, and a cathode in this order, and the hole transport layer contains an arylamine compound represented by the following general formula (1): 

An organic compound having an excellent electron injection and transport performance is provided as a material for a low-power-consumption organic electroluminescent device. A low-power-consumption organic electroluminescent device is also provided by using the compound. The compound is a compound of general formula () or () having a substituted bipyridyl and triphenylene ring structure. The organic electroluminescent device includes a pair of electrodes, and one or more organic layers sandwiched between the pair of electrodes, and uses the compound as constituent material of at least one of the organic layers.

In the organic electroluminescent device having at least an anode, a hole injection layer, a first hole injection layer, a second hole injection layer, a light emitting layer, an electron transport layer and a cathode in this order, the hole injection layer includes an arylamine compound of the following general formula (1) and an electron acceptor.  In the formula, Arto Armay be the same or different, and represent a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group, a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic heterocyclic group, or a substituted or unsubstituted condensed polycyclic aromatic group.

According to the present invention, there are provided pyrimidine derivatives represented by the following general formula (1). The pyrimidine derivatives of the invention are novel compounds and feature (1) good electron injection property, (2) high electron mobility, (3) excellent hole blocking property, (4) good stability in their form of thin films, and (5) excellent heat resistance. 

Pyrimidine derivative and organic electroluminescent devices

To provide an organic compound of excellent characteristics that exhibits excellent electron-injecting/transporting performance with hole blocking ability, and has high stability in the thin-film state, as material for an organic electroluminescent device having high efficiency and high durability, and to provide the organic electroluminescent device having high efficiency and high durability using the compound. An organic electroluminescent device includes a pair of electrodes, and one or more organic layers sandwiched between the pair of electrodes, wherein the compound of general formula (1) in which a substituted bipyridyl group and a pyridoindole ring structure are bonded via a phenylene group, is used as a constituent material of at least one organic layer.

In the organic electroluminescent device having at least an anode, a hole injection layer, a hole transport layer, a light emitting layer, an electron transport layer and a cathode in this order, the hole injection layer includes an arylamine compound of the following general formula (1) and an electron acceptor.  In the formula, Arto Armay be the same or different, and represent a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group, a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic heterocyclic group, or a substituted or unsubstituted condensed polycyclic aromatic group.

Pyrimidine derivatives of the present invention are represented by the following general formula (1), wherein W, X, Y and Z are carbon atoms or nitrogen atoms under the condition that only any one is a nitrogen atom to which none of the groups Rto Rare bonded, A and B are single bonds, divalent aromatic hydrocarbon groups or divalent aromatic heterocyclic groups, Arand Arare monovalent aromatic hydrocarbon groups or monovalent aromatic heterocyclic groups, and Rto Rare hydrogen atoms, deuterium atoms, fluorine atoms, chlorine atoms, cyano groups, alkyl groups having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, monovalent aromatic hydrocarbon groups or monovalent aromatic heterocyclic groups. The compound excels in electron injection/transporting capability, features high hole-blocking power and high stability in the form of a thin film, and can be favorably used as a material for producing highly efficient and durable organic EL devices.

Pyrimidine derivatives and organic electroluminescent devices

The invention provides a light emitting layer host compound and an electron-blocking compound that have high excited triplet levels, and can completely confine the triplet excitons of phosphorescent material, for use as the material of a high-efficient organic electroluminescent device. The invention also provides a high-efficient, high-luminance organic electroluminescent device with the use of the compounds. The compound of the general formula (1) below has a triphenylsilyl group and a triarylamine structure, and the organic electroluminescent device includes a pair of electrodes and at least one organic layer interposed between the pair of electrodes, wherein the compound of the general formula (1) having a triphenylsilyl group and a triarylamine structure is used as constituent material of the at least one organic layer.

An organic compound having an excellent electron injection and transport performance is provided as a material for a low-power-consumption organic electroluminescent device. The compound is a compound of general formula (1) or (2) having a substituted bipyridyl and triphenylene ring structure. The organic electroluminescent device includes a pair of electrodes, and one or more organic layers sandwiched between the pair of electrodes, and uses the compound as constituent material of at least one of the organic layers. 

According to the present invention, there are provided an indenoindole derivative represented by the following general formula (1); and an organic electroluminescent element including a pair of electrodes and at least one organic layer sandwiched therebetween, wherein the above compound is used as a constituent material for the at least one organic layer. The indenoindole derivative of the present invention provides an organic compound, which is excellent in hole injection/transport performance, has electron blocking capability, is highly stable in a thin film state, and excels in heat resistance, as a material for a high efficiency, high durability organic electroluminescent element. An organic electroluminescent element formed using this compound is highly efficient and highly durable. 

Indenoindole derivative and organic electroluminescent element

An organic compound having a substituted acridan ring structure with characteristics excelling in hole-injecting/transporting performance and having an electron blocking ability, a highly stable thin-film state, and excellent heat resistance is provided as a material for an organic electroluminescent device of high efficiency and high durability, and the organic electroluminescent device of high efficiency and high durability is provided using this compound. The compound is used as a constituent material of at least one organic layer in the organic electroluminescent device that includes a pair of electrodes and one or more organic layers sandwiched between the pair of electrodes.
