A method of producing a stretched film comprising melt-coextruding a thermoplastic resin A and a thermoplastic resin B to produce a composite filmhaving both-end filmsof the thermoplastic resin B arranged in parallel at both end portions of the main filmof the thermoplastic resin A in the direction of width thereof, stretching the composite film, and cutting and removing both end portions of the stretched film in the direction of width, wherein a film stretch stress value of the both-end filmsis larger than a film stretch stress value of the main filmat the same stretching ratio. This minimizes an increase in the thickness at both end portions of the film in stretching the film and decreases the widths by which both end portions of the expensive resin film are to be cut and removed for producing a film.

A manufacturing method and apparatus of an organic resin coated metal sheet is provided. Temperatures of edge portions of the metal sheet and a temperature of an approximately central portion of the metal sheet are respectively measured using a metal-sheet temperature measuring device arranged directly upstream of lamination rolls. Respectively measured temperature values are inputted to a heating temperature controller, and output values calculated by the heating temperature controllers are inputted to a metal sheet center portion heater and the metal sheet center portion heater, respectively, to control the heating of a widthwise approximately center portion and edge portion, respectively, to a first and second temperature, respectively, the second temperature being higher than the first. A resin film is extruded to pre-rolls and is sandwiched and pressure-bonding to the metal sheet between a pair of lamination rolls. Resin portions projecting from both edge portions are then removed.

A method and apparatus for manufacturing a resin coated metal sheet. The method includes extruding a molten organic resin by heating from a T-die onto a metal sheet; dropping molten resin onto pre-rolls arranged between the T-die and lamination rolls, and bringing the molten resin in contact with the pre-rolls; and pressing the molten resin and the metal sheet by the lamination rolls to manufacture the resin-coated metal sheet. Electrically conductive bodies are arranged parallel to the widthwise direction of the pre-rolls, and the molten resin is dropped onto the pre-rolls in a state that an electric current is supplied to the conductive bodies, bringing the molten resin into contact with the pre-rolls by electrostatic pinning whereby an oligomer adhered to the pre-rolls is transferred to the surface of the molten resin and removed.

The preventive film exhibits an extremely small double refraction and is capable of being adhered directly to a polarizer through heating and the polarizing plate can be produced at a low cost.

The process for producing a resin-metal laminate material of the present invention is characterized by comprising providing a heating zone for a metal substrate, a die for feeding a thermoplastic resin in a film form, a pair of temperate laminate rolls for adhering the thermoplastic resin to at least one surface of the metal substrate, and quenching means for quenching the resulting laminate material, along a passage for the metal substrate, supporting and conveying a molten film of the thermoplastic resin from the die with the corresponding temperate laminate rolls and feeding it to a nipping position between the temperate laminate rolls, and fusing the thin film of the thermoplastic resin to at least one surface of the heated metal substrate by means of the temperate laminate rolls. This method can lead to the formation of a uniform and thin-film resin coating on the metal substrate at a high speed, and in addition, the formed resin film has very high intimate adhesiveness and film properties.

Process for producing a resin-metal laminate

A monodisperse spherical, ellipsoidal or plate-like vaterite calcium carbonate almost free from secondary aggregation is disclosed. The vaterite type calcium carbonate is prepared by the steps of adding 5-20 times mol equivalent of water with respect to unslaked lime to a methanol suspension of 0.5-12 weight % of unslaked lime and/or slaked lime (in case of slaked, conversion is to be made into unslaked lime of the same mol) to prepare of a mixture of methanol, unslaked lime and/or slaked lime and water, letting carbon dioxide gas through said mixture, adjusting the temperature in the carbonation reaction system to not less than 30.degree. C. before arrival of conductivity within carbonation reaction system at the maximal point on conductivity variation curve in the carbonation reaction system and adjusting the time from start of carbonation reaction to the point where the conductivity is 100 .mu.S/cm to be less than 1,000 minutes. A method for growing or controlling in shape the vaterite calcium carbonate used as matrix is also disclosed.
