A vehicular head-up display that is provided in a vehicle and is configured to display a predetermined image to an occupant of the vehicle includes: a housing that has an opening upward; a transparent cover that covers the opening of the housing; a picture generation section; and a cleaner that is configured to clean an outer surface of the transparent cover. The picture generation section includes: a picture generation unit that is provided inside an accommodation portion formed with the housing and the transparent cover in order to emit light for generating the predetermined image; and a reflection unit that reflects light so that light emitted by the picture generation unit heads toward a windshield.

An ADB lamp unit of a vehicle headlamp includes a light source constituted by a plurality of semiconductor light-emitting elements that can be turned on/off individually, and a reflector having a reflective surface that is based on a paraboloid of revolution. The reflector is constituted by a perpendicularly split plurality of partial reflectors, with the reflective surface of each partial reflector being configured such that the horizontal spread of reflected light reflected by each partial reflectors is approximately equal in a predetermined projection plane.

Vehicle headlight

A first lamp unit includes a plurality of first light-emitting elements arranged in a vehicle width direction. A second lamp unit includes a plurality of second light-emitting elements arranged in the vehicle width direction. A wiring channel of a first type lights at least one of the first light-emitting elements by supplying power thereto, thereby forming a light distribution pattern of a first type. A wiring channel of a second type connects at least one of the first light-emitting elements in series with at least one of the second light-emitting elements, and lights these by supplying power thereto, thereby forming a light distribution pattern of a second type. The position of a light-dark boundary that extends vertically in the light distribution pattern of the first type is different from the position of a light-dark boundary that extends vertically in the light distribution pattern of the second type.

Vehicle lamp

A lamp unit includes a light-emitting element array composed by a plurality of light-emitting elements, having respective individual irradiation regions constituting a high-beam light-distribution pattern and configured to be capable of being turned on individually, mounted in array on a substrate, a projection lens disposed in front of the light-emitting element array, and a reflector disposed below the light-emitting element array. Inter-light-emitting-element spacing within the light-emitting element array widens the more separated the elements are from the projection lens' optical axis.

Lamp unit and vehicle headlamp

Provided is a vehicular headlamp including an excitation light source, a phosphor excited by the excitation light source, a projection lens, and a scanning mechanism configured to receive light generated by an excitation light source array on a reflective surface of a reflector and scan the light toward the phosphor. The excitation light source is formed as the excitation light source array having a plurality of light emitting portions. Between the excitation light source array and the scanning mechanism, a lens array having a plurality of light condensing portions is provided. The plurality of light condensing portions are arranged to respectively face the plurality of light emitting portions, and configured to condense lights emitted from respective light emitting portions on the reflective surface, respectively, and arrange respective optical images of reflected lights on the phosphor.

Vehicular headlamp

A vehicular headlamp includes a plurality of excitation light sources; a fluorescent body; a scanning mechanism configured to perform scanning by directing lights emitted from the excitation light sources toward the fluorescent body; and a projection lens through which the lights emitted from the fluorescent body pass such that a light distribution pattern is formed. Irradiation areas of the lights emitted from the excitation light sources and incident on the fluorescent body are different from each other.

A road surface drawing lamp unit includes a light source module and an optical system. In the light source module, a plurality of light sources which correspond individually to drawing patterns, each of which is long in a first direction which is a width direction of a road and short in a second direction which intersects the width direction of the road and an emitting axis of the light sources, are arranged so that the drawing patterns are drawn at a plurality of locations on the road along the second direction, and the light sources are formed so as to be turned on and off independently. The optical system emits light emitted from the light sources to the front.

Road surface drawing lamp unit

Provided is a vehicular headlamp including: an excitation light source; a scanning mechanism configured to scan light emitted by the excitation light source toward a predetermined direction; a projection lens; and a phosphor provided between the scanning mechanism and the projection lens and configured to transmit light scanned by the scanning mechanism toward the projection lens. The phosphor is formed as a curved body that is curved in a direction opposite to a curved image plane of the projection lens.

A lamp unitis one for use in a vehicle lamp. The lamp unitincludes a light source mounting portion on which a light source is mounted, and a projector lensthat is disposed on a vehicle front side of the light source. The projector lens includes an incident surfaceon which light emitted from the light source is incident, a convex emission surfacefrom which the light incident on the incident surface is emitted forwardly of the lamp, a connection surfacethat connects an edge part of the incident surfaceand an edge part of the emission surface. The connection surfaceincludes, at least in a partial area thereof, a convex surface that is convex, in section including an optical axis, outward in a diameter direction.

Lamp unit and projector lens

A projection lens includes a rear face through which light emitted from a light source enters, and a front face from which the light is emitted in front of a vehicle in a predetermined light distribution pattern. The projection lens is configured such that, upon entering the projection lens, an incoming wavefront emitted from the light source is internally reflected by a first reflection region of the front face, a first intermediate wavefront generated by the internal reflection by the first reflection region is internally reflected by a second reflection region of the rear face, a second intermediate wavefront generated by the internal reflection by the second reflection region is refracted by a refraction region of the front face, and the refracted wavefront is emitted as an outgoing wavefront. The second reflection region is an optical surface determined based on the first intermediate wavefront and the second intermediate wavefront.

Projection lens and optical surface determination method

A vehicle headlamp is provided with a light emitting module. The light emitting module is provided with a light emitting portion and a frame member. The frame member surrounds the light emitting portion to define a light emitting surface. The frame member includes a first surface and a second surface in which a part of an internal diffusing/reflection light reflected on the first surface is to be projected upwardly of a cutoff line of a low-beam light distribution pattern, and a part of the internal diffusing/reflection light reflected on the second surface is to be projected downwardly of the cutoff line. A reflectance of the first surface is lower than a reflectance of the second surface.

Vehicle headlamp

A vehicle lamp has a light source having an edge extending linearly, a first reflector, and a second reflector. The vehicle lamp forms a light distribution pattern having cut-off lines at an upper end section thereof by sequentially reflecting light from the light source using the first and second reflectors. An edge of the light source is disposed so as to extend in the horizontal direction. A first reflecting surface of the first reflector is formed of a curved surface, and shaped such that, when an image of the light source formed on the first reflecting surface of the first reflector is viewed from respective points on a first reflecting surface of the second reflector, an edge portion of the image of the light source corresponding to the edge of the light source appears to be inclined with respect to the horizontal direction.

An automotive headlamp apparatus comprises: a lamp unit configured to be capable of forming an additional light distribution pattern that includes an upper area above the cut-off line of a light distribution pattern for low beam and that is divided into a plurality of individual patterns; and a controller configured to control formation of each of the individual patterns in accordance with presence of a forward vehicle. The controller reduces the illuminance of an individual pattern overlapping an area where a forward vehicle is present and increases the illuminance of at least one of other individual patterns.
