A coloring matter for black ink which is highly soluble in water-based media, and ink compositions containing the same. The ink compositions can produce black recorded images which exhibit excellent fastness and ozone gas fastness. The coloring matter consists of at least one trisazo compound represented by general formula (1), tautomers thereof, and salts of both. In general formula (1), Ris unsubstituted Calkyl or the like; Ris cyano or the like; Ris a chlorine atom or the like; Rto Rare a hydrogen atom, unsubstituted Calkyl, sulfo-substituted Calkoxy, or the like; Rto Rare a hydrogen atom, unsubstituted Calkyl, sulfo-substituted Calkylthio, or the like; A is sulfo-substituted 2-naphthothiazolyl or the like; and a to d represent the positions at which the ring is substituted with Rand sulfo. 

Coloring matter consisting of trisazo compound, ink compositions, recording method, and colored body

A water-soluble azo compound represented by formula (1) or a salt thereof, and an ink composition containing the compound or salt. The ink composition has a chroma saturation and hue suitable for inkjet recording, and enables a material recorded therewith to have high fastness in various fields, in particular high ozone gas resistance, while enabling an image recorded therewith to have excellent storage stability and the like. In formula (1), Q represents a halogen atom; x represents an integer of 2 to 4; and the group A represents an amino group represented by the following formula (101). In formula (101), y represents an integer of 1 to 3.

An ink set is provided which, when used in color ink-jet printing, can give a full-color printed image having a satisfactory hue and brightness and excellent in various fastness properties. More specifically, an ink set for ink-jet recording is provided that is an ink set of at least two colors which includes at least two ink compositions, i.e., a cyan ink composition and a magenta ink composition. The cyan ink composition contains a cyan dye which is a dye represented by the following formula (7) or a salt thereof. The magenta ink composition contains a magenta dye which is a dye represented by the following formula (6) or a salt thereof.

The present invention relates to a novel anthrapyridone compound represented by the following formula (1) or a salt thereof: wherein, Rrepresents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or the like, Rrepresents a hydrogen atom or a methoxy group and Rrepresents an unsubstituted or substituted aryl group, or an unsubstituted or substituted a heteroaryl group, respectively; and with regard to the substitution positions of &#x2014;SORand &#x2014;SOH whose substitution position are not specified and the both of which the benzene ring has thereon, one of their substitution positions is the para-position and the other thereof is the ortho-position to the substitution position of the nitrogen atom by which said benzene ring is substituted, and the compound of the present invention or a salt thereof has a hue which possesses high vividness suitable for inkjet recording, and provides a magenta coloring matter having higher fastnesses on recorded matter and excellent storage stability.

The present invention relates to an ammonium salt or a sodium salt of an anthrapyridone compound represented by the following the formula (1): and an ink composition containing these; said compound has a hue with high vividness and high brightness suitable for inkjet recording; recorded matters recorded with an ink composition containing said compound is excellent in fastnesses such as light fastness and ozone fastness, and also particularly water fastness.
