A cold cathode fluorescent lamp which makes a step dedicated to the acquisition of advantageous effects unnecessary without lowering an optical flux maintaining factor and, at the same time, prevents peeling-off of a phosphor layer in a step of bending light transmitting glass tube is provided. The cold cathode fluorescent lamp includes a light-transmitting glass tube, a phosphor layer which is formed on an inner surface of the light-transmitting glass tube, mercury and a rare gas which is filled in the inside of the light-transmitting glass tube, and cold cathodes which are arranged in a sealed manner in both end portions of the light-transmitting glass tube in a state that the cold cathodes face each other in an opposed manner, wherein the phosphor layer is constituted of a plurality of phosphor particles and a bonding agent. The bonding agent is made of aluminum oxide and boron oxide. The phosphor particles are covered with the bonding agent by coating. The phosphor particles and the bonding agent are bonded to the inner surface of the light-transmitting glass tube thus protecting surfaces of the phosphor particles with aluminum oxide.

According to one aspect of the present invention, it is possible to sufficiently perform the discharging of charge without lowering the light emitting efficiency of an organic EL device and hence, the device can exhibit the light emitting efficiency higher than a conventional organic EL device and, at the same time, can prevent the degradation of the device. As an organic EL device to which the present invention is applied, on a glass transparent substrate, a transparent electrode, a hole injection layer and a hole transport layer which function as a hole transport function layer, a light emitting layer, an electron transport function layer, and a metal electrode are formed sequentially, and a drive power sources are connected to the transparent electrode and the metal electrode. Further, from the drive power source, as an applying voltage, a voltage which is obtained by overlapping any one of a sine wave, a pulse wave, a triangle wave and a sawtooth wave having two cycles or more to a drive signal or a voltage which is obtained by overlapping a sine wave having two cycles or more to the drive signal is supplied.

A panel has a flat external surface and has a curvature on an inner surface thereof. A coating having light absorption characteristics is formed on the external surface of the panel. To the top of the coating, a film which has light absorbing characteristics and contains an adhesive is adhered. The light absorption by the coating is large at the central portion of the panel and is small at the peripheral portion of the panel. The light absorption characteristics of the film is approximately uniform on the entire surface of the panel. Due to such a constitution, a color picture tube having a flat external surface, the least brightness difference and an excellent contrast can be realized.

The field leakage preventing coating is formed by adhering a double coating film composed of a conductive first layer mainly composed of particles of one or more kinds of metal among noble metal elements of gold (Au), silver (Ag) and platinum (Pt) and a second layer mainly composed of silicon dioxide (SiO,) or magnesium fluoride (MgF,) on an outer face of a faceplate of a panel section of the color cathode ray tube.
