An ozone producing apparatus including: an oxygen atom producing portion (6) for dissociating a supplied oxygen gas at a low pressure not more than atmospheric pressure so as to produce a first gas containing oxygen atoms; an ozone producing portion (a throat 3 and a diffuser 4) for mixing the first gas containing oxygen atoms supplied from the oxygen atom producing portion with a second gas containing oxygen, and allowing the first and second gases to react with each other for producing ozone; and a low pressure feeding (2, 9) means for reducing a pressure in the oxygen atom producing portion (6) at a specified low value not more than atmospheric pressure, and feeding the first gas to the ozone producing portion in a pressure reduction state.

Method of and apparatus for producing ozone

A lateral excitation type gas laser device having a small size and high output. An anode and a cathode are arranged opposite one another with a flow of laser gas therebetween. A high DC voltage is applied between the anode and cathode to cause a glow discharge therebetween. A dielectric electrode is disposed in the flow of laser gas upstream of the anode and cathode, and a high frequency high voltage is applied between the dielectric electrode on one hand and the anode and cathode on the other for causing a silent discharge therebetween. The dielectric electrode has a diameter of 3 mm&lt;D&lt;d/2, where D is the diameter of the dielectric electrode and d is the length of the gap between the anode and cathode. The dielectric electrode is disposed in a region defined by 0.ltorsim.l.sub.1 .ltorsim.2d and 0.ltorsim.l.sub.2 .ltorsim.d, where l.sub.1 is the distance in the direction of the laser gas flow between the dielectric electrode and the cathode and l.sub.2 is the distance between the dielectric electrode and the anode.

Lateral excitation type gas laser

An apparatus for preventing biofouling caused by deposition and propagation of shellfish and algae in a cooling water system using sea water or river water for example, in a power plant, by periodically feeding ozone at high concentration to the system. An ozonizer is combined with an ozone-adsorbing and desorbing device so as to store ozone by adsorbing of an adsorbent and for a long time at lower temperature and desorbing ozone by periodically sucking at higher temperature if desired, by a water ejector.

Apparatus for elimination of biofouling

A silent discharge-type laser device in which silent discharge is established to produce a laser output by applying a high-frequency voltage across a set of opposing electrodes, at least one of the electrodes being a dielectric electrode; signals which are fed to the power source which produces a high-frequency voltage, used to modify the amplitude of the high-frequency output or to modify the frequency of the high-frequency output. According, the output voltage produced by the high-frequency power source can be increased or decreased at high speeds.

Silent discharge-type laser device

An ozonized oxygen fed from an ozonizer is passed to a reaction tower to treat an object material. In recovering non-reacted oxygen from the reaction tower to reuse in the ozonizer, zeolite is used as an adsorbent to remove impurities contained in the recovered oxygen, such as water, volatile organic materials and CO.sub.2 gas so that a raw material oxygen without containing any impurity is fed to the ozonizer to increase the ozonizing efficiency.

Oxygen recycle type ozonizing apparatus

A silent discharge gas laser apparatus has three or more electrodes arranged in axial symmetry with the laser radiation axis and supplied with voltage from a multi-phase high frequency power source to establish a continuous discharge and a higher discharge density at reduced frequencies, particularly in the central region of the discharge zone.

Multi-phase silent discharge gas laser apparatus

A silent discharge gas laser comprises an earthing electrode and a high voltage electrode whose discharge surface is covered with a dielectric and a power source for applying an AC high frequency high voltage to excit a laser gas. The power source periodically and intermittently applies high frequency voltage to turn on and off to give high peak value.

A silent discharge type gas laser device comprises a high voltage side electrode and a low voltage side electrode which are disposed through a discharge space wherein substantial surface area of at least one of the electrodes is covered with a dielectric and an equivalent diameter of the covered dielectric is less than several times the length of the discharge space.

An ozonizer comprising a pair of electrodes including a grounding electrode and a high voltage electrode, a dielectric substrate disposed between the grounding electrode and the high voltage electrode, a perforated metal substrate disposed in a gap space between the grounding electrode and the dielectric substrate, wherein the perforated metal substrate comprises first spacing means interspaced between the perforated metal substrate and the dielectric substrate for maintaining a constant separation gap therebetween, second spacing means disposed between the perforated metal substrate and the grounding electrode to maintain the perforated metal substrate in position between the dielectric substrate and the grounding electrode, wherein a uniform separation distance promoting a uniform silent discharge is maintained between the perforated metal substrate and the dielectric substrate by the first and second spacing means.

Ozonizer

An ozone generating apparatus comprises a rectangular waveform current feeding device for feeding rectangular waveform alternating current between discharge electrodes of a discharge tube of an ozone generator so that a constant current is fed by the rectangular waveform current feeding device during a half cycle period to the ozone generator which is equivalent to a capacitor. Accordingly, the voltage applied to the ozone generator has a waveform which changes in proportion to the time period. Such a voltage waveform is ideal for the ozone generator to improve the conventional ozone generating apparatus.

Ozone generating apparatus

An ozone-generating apparatus comprises an ozonizer; one or more moisture exchangers in which synthetic zeolite having fine pore diameter for inhibiting adsorption of ozone but easily adsorbing moisture, is filled as a moisture adsorbent; and switching means which switches the moisture exchangers at the inlets and the outlets thereof to alternatively repeat a moisture-adsorbing operation for drying air by passing a wet air through one of the moisture exchanger before feeding it to the ozonizer and a moisture adsorbent-recovering operation for drying the synthetic zeolite by passing the dry ozone-containing air generated from the ozonizer through the other moisture exchanger.

Ozone-generating apparatus

A moisture exchanger type ozone-generating apparatus comprises one or more pairs of adsorption towers which alternatively repeat a step of adsorption and a step of desorption by passing a dry ozone-containing air, and at least one additional adsorption tower for imparting a step of partial desorption between the step of adsorption and the step of desorption, whereby the decrease of ozone concentration at the switching from the step of adsorption to the step of desorption is reduced.

Moisture exchanger type ozone-generating apparatus

An ozone generating apparatus is disclosed which is quite compact and has a high yield of ozone and which prevents an abnormal rise of temperature in a discharge gap by recycling a liquid coolant having low electric conductivity through an inner part of a high voltage electrode tube of a silent discharge ozonizer to cool the electrode tube.

An ejector type gas-liquid mixing apparatus having a valve for feeding a gas, which does not adversely affect the main gas-liquid mixing operation, into the gas feed system thereof, when the pressure of the gas feed system decreases below a predetermined value, wherein the valve is disposed between an aspirating inlet of the ejector and the gas feeder. Thus, in an apparatus for mixing a liquid and ozone using an ejector, which comprises a first pipe system for connecting the ejector and an ozone generator, a second pipe system for connecting a reaction vessel for separating the unreacted ozone from the gas-liquid mixture fluid fed from the ejector, an exhaust ozone removing device for removing the unreacted ozone, and such check valve connecting the first and second pipe systems, any ozone leaked from the check valve is removed by the exhaust ozone removing device and counterflowing liquid from the aspirating inlet of the ejector to the gas feed system is prevented.
