A low NOx burner having a burner body, to which an electric fan for supplying air for combustion is connected and which includes an exhaust gas recirculation passage for supplying combustion gas from the burner body to air for combustion, the low NOx burner including an exclusive exhaust-gas recirculation fan provided for the exhaust gas recirculation passage and arranged to forcibly recirculate exhaust gas, and a bypass passage formed between the exhaust gas recirculation passage and a passage for air for combustion formed in the burner body.

Low NO.sub.x burner and method of controlling recirculation of exhaust

In a high-temperature regenerator of an absorption refrigerator according to the present invention, the longitudinal cross-sectional area of a portion of a combustion chamber parallel to the surface combustion plate is given a shape that is narrowed to a size equal to the surface area of the fire hole towards the downstream side from a surface combustion plate. As a result, a pipe wall of the combustion chamber protects the vicinity of the fire hole. Since this pipe wall contains absorption fluid flowing through it in the form of convection flow, it does not reach high temperatures as in the refractory material of the prior art, thereby being able to avoid the problem of increased NOx values. In addition, the problem of the prior art of inhibiting heat transfer to pipe wall is also eliminated.

High-temperature regenerator

An apparatus 9 for diagnosing failures in the combustion system to be installed in the regenerator of an absorption chiller is adapted to automatically prepare quantitative diagnosis data from a plurality of items of measurement data. The apparatus comprises an abnormality degree calculating circuit 2 for calculating degrees of abnormality serving as indexes for discriminating failures, from different items of data obtained by a combustion system control unit 1, a binary conversion circuit 4 for converting the abnormality degrees obtained from the circuit 2 to binary data representing 'normal' or 'abnormal,' a condition judging circuit 5 for discriminating types of states of failures from the binary data by driving a diagnosis knowledge base 7, and a diagnosis data calculating circuit 6 for calculating diagnosis data from the abnormality degrees and types of failure states by driving the base 7.

Failure diagnosing apparatus for combustion systems

In a compact absorption type refrigerator which eliminates an ill effect caused by the local overheating of a heating chamber in a high-temperature regenerator with a liquid pipe boiler, a high-temperature regenerator 5 heats a heating chamber 63 in which vertical liquid pipes 51 for circulating a diluted absorption solution 2a are arranged in a matrix form with the combustion surface 60D2 of a plane flame type burner 60X to evaporate refrigerant vapor 7a from the diluted solution 2a. The width 60BX of the combustion surface 60D2 within a horizontal plane is made smaller than the width 51BX of the liquid pipes 51 arranged in a matrix form, the volume of flames on the combustion surface 60D2 within the horizontal plane is made large at a central portion and small at portions on wall 50B sides, or the volume of flames on the combustion surface 60D2 within a vertical plane is made large at an upper portion and small at a lower portion so that the diluted solution 2a flows in an upward direction in flow passages 51a and a downward direction in flow passages 50a and 50b.

Absorption type refrigerator

In a high-temperature regenerator for an absorption type refrigerator in which combustion in a combustion furnace 21 for heating a working medium is completed and an unburnt gas is hardly exhausted, a group 27 of pipes 29 for passing the working medium are arranged in the combustion furnace 21, a combustion gas flow 37 from a combustion burner 31 is caused to run through the group 27 of pipes, and a first and a second partition plates 41 and 43 are disposed in a high-temperature region 39 of the combustion gas flow 37 to cause the combustion gas flow 37 to make a loop detour and stay therein, thereby promoting combustion.

A gas burner comprising a gas nozzle 4 having a flame stabilizing plate 7 and gas jet orifices 8 at its top; and a burner corn 5 provided with a flame stabilizing plate 6 having secondary air passages 10 for combustion and primary air passages 9 for combustion formed between the flame stabilizing plate 6 itself and the outer periphery of the gas nozzle 4: the gas burner being characterized in that the primary air passages 9 for combustion are disposed so that primary air may pass between the flame stabilizing plate 6 and the outer periphery of the gas nozzle and may be mixed with a fuel gas 3 jetted through the gas jet orifices 8; the stream course of the mixed gas is changed to the periphery of the flame stabilizing plate 7 by this plate 7; and a part of the mixed gas is mixed with divided secondary air.

Gas burner

An improved gas burner comprising a gas nozzle having a first flame stabilizer mounted to the front end thereof and a plurality of gas blow apertures arranged circumferentially therein adjacent to the first flame stabilizer, a second flame stabilizer having a plurality of secondary combustion air passages arranged in the circumferential end thereof and a primary combustion air passage arranged in the center thereof which is defined by the outer surface of the gas nozzle, and a burner cone accommodating the second flame stabilizer coupled to the inner wall thereof, said gas burner being improved for reducing unwanted nitrogen oxide and/or uncombusted gas, characterized in the positional relation between the flame stabilizer(s) and the gas blow apertures, the novel construction in which the shape of the flame stabilizer is designed for optimum function with association with its positional relation, the novel arrangement in which the flame stabilizer can be controlled for optimum positioning, and the improved burner head arrangement for producing a ring of separate combustion flames.

This application discloses a single effect and double effect absorption refrigerating system, in which water is used as a refrigerant and LiBr as an absorbent, for example. A refrigerating cycle is formed by connecting in an air-tight manner a high temperature generator to be heated by a high temperature heat source, a first low temperature generator to be heated by refrigerant vapor separated from a dilute solution in said high temperature generator, a condenser, an evaporator, an absorber, a first heat exchanger and a second heat exchanger by means of refrigerant lines, dilute solution lines and dense solution lines. A second low temperature generator to be heated by a low temperature heat source is disposed between one of the dilute solution lines and one of the dense solution lines so as to communicate with said condenser, whereby the supply of a solution and a fuel to said high temperature generator may be controlled dependent on the heating capacity of said second low temperature generator. Dependent on the low temperature heat source and loads, the operation mode of the absorption refrigerating system may selectively be switched to either a single effect operation, or a double effect operation, or a single effect-double effect combined operation, thereby to realize the effective use of energy and a stable switching operation.
