A display system includes an image display part displaying an image indicating a mode selected in a driving device of a vehicle having a plurality of modes. The image display part displays all images indicating each of the plurality of modes, and displays the image indicating the selected mode to be different in at least one of color, brightness, character format, and size from an image indicating a non-selected mode.

Display system

A light guide plate guides light from a light source to form an image in a space, and includes a light introduction portion and a light emitting portion. Light from the light source is incident on the light introduction portion. The light emitting portion includes a curved emission surface that emits light from the light source incident from the light introduction portion, and is bent and connected to the light introduction portion.

Display device

Parallel light traveling in a direction perpendicular to an outgoing surface having a curved surface is emitted. A light guide member according to one or more embodiments may include: an incident surface where light from a light source enters; at least one reflective surface that reflects the light having entered from the incident surface; and an outgoing surface that is formed of a curved surface and emits the light reflected by the reflective surface. The reflective surface reflects the light having entered from the light source in a direction in which the incident angle of the light incident on the outgoing surface is constant.

When an optical element is transparent, an observer is enabled to visually recognize a stereoscopic image having a stereoscopic effect. A display method for a stereoscopic image, using a display device provided with a transparent light guide plate, includes: emitting light to be recognized by the observer as a stereoscopic image (I) from an optical element; and displaying the stereoscopic image (I) on a stereoscopic image forming plane (P) not parallel to an outgoing surface () of the optical element. In the display method, the observer is able to visually recognize a rear surface side of the display device through the optical element.

A method is disclosed for manufacturing, by injection molding with use of a mold, a light guide plate in which a first region having a curvature in a first direction and a second region having a predetermined curved surface are connected. The light emitting portion includes a second light source and a light emitting region that overlaps with the first image in a vehicle front-rear direction at a position close to the first image and emits light from the second light source to the outside of the vehicle.

Optical device for presenting a stereoscopic image

A display device includes an image display unit that displays a first alert image in response to an alert at a first level, an image projection unit that displays a second alert image in response to an alert at a second level. The second image display unit overlaps the first image display unit. The first alert image appears at a position different from a surface of the second image display unit.

An optical device includes a planar-image forming unit configured to emit light that forms a planar image of a predetermined shape in a space, and an outline-image forming unit configured to emit light that forms an outline image with a light intensity different from the light intensity of the planar image at the outer-edge region of the planar image.

Optical device and method of three-dimensional display

An optical device has a light guide plate configured to guide light within a plane parallel to an emission surface thereof, and a plurality of optical deflectors arranged two-dimensionally within a plane parallel to the emission surface. Each of the optical deflectors deflects light propagating through the light guide plate, and causes the emission surface to output light forming an image in a space. Each of the optical deflectors is configured to spread the light incident thereon that has an intensity distribution corresponding to an image in a direction orthogonal to the light guide direction of the light guide plate in a plane parallel to the emission surface, and cause the emission surface to output the light which groups the light from the plurality of optical deflectors arranged along a direction orthogonal to the light guide direction, such that light radiating from the image is formed.

Optical device

A display device for head-up display forms an image with a view of an object from above in a vertical direction in a space outside the display device for an image which presents an object with a vertical direction. The object includes a reference surface that is a reference of the vertical direction. The display device forms the image so that an observer has a view from the upper part of the reference surface.

A light guide element includes: an incidence surface wherefrom light enters from a light source; a first reflection surface configured to totally reflect at least a portion of the light entering from the incidence surface; a second reflection surface configured to totally reflect at least a portion of the light totally reflected by the first reflection surface as parallel light; and an emission surface configured to emit the parallel light totally reflected by the second reflection surface.
