Provided is an absorber that removes sulfur oxide in a flue gas with an absorbent, an absorbent storing unit that stores the absorbent that has absorbed the sulfur oxide, an oxidation-reduction potential meter that measures an oxidation-reduction potential of the absorbent in the absorbent storing unit, a reducing additive supplying unit that supplies a sulfur oxoacid reducing additive into the absorbent storing unit, and a control device that controls the reducing additive supplying unit based on a measured value of the oxidation-reduction potential of the absorbent measured with the oxidation-reduction potential meter, wherein the reducing additive supplying unit supplies the sulfur oxoacid reducing additive when the measured value of the oxidation-reduction potential has exceeded an upper limit of an appropriate range of the oxidation-reduction potential.

A wet type flue-gas desulfurization apparatus includes a desulfurization apparatus main body; a gas introducing unit that is disposed on a side wall of the desulfurization apparatus main body and that introduces a flue gas; an absorbent accumulating unit that accumulates an absorbent which has absorbed the sulfur oxide present in the flue gas; a circulation line that circulates the absorbent from the absorbent circulating unit; a spray pipe that is disposed in the vicinity of the middle portion of the desulfurization apparatus main body and that sprays the absorbent, which is circulated in the circulation line, as a spray liquid from a nozzle; an ORP meter that measures the oxidation reduction potential of the absorbent; and an oxidation resistant pipe group that, in the vicinity of the interface of the absorbent present in the absorbent accumulating unit, cushions a falling liquid falling from an absorber of the absorbent.

Wet type flue-gas desulfurization apparatus and method for adjusting oxidation reduction potential of absorbent therefor

A wet type flue gas desulfurization apparatus desulfurizes flue gas existing inside an absorption tower by causing the flue gas to come into gas-liquid contact with an absorbent, and the absorbent is fed through a header pipe and sprayed through nozzles. In the apparatus, the absorbent accumulated inside the absorption tower is fed to the nozzles to circulate in the absorption tower. The apparatus includes: a bypass pipe feeding the absorbent through the nozzles from a downstream of the nozzles into the absorption tower; a tank arranged at an intermediate location on the bypass pipe; a perforated plate arranged inside the tank; and an access port opening on a side surface of the tank above the perforated plate to communicate between an inside and an outside of the tank. The absorbent that freely falls and passes through the perforated plate while scales or impurities are collected above the perforated plate.
