A secondary battery and a control section are included. An electrode of the secondary battery has a singular point at which a variation in an output voltage with respect to a capacity is singularly changed. The control section includes a detection section and a calculation setting section. The detection section changes the capacity of the secondary battery, and detects a singular point capacity which is the capacity at which the singular point appears. When the secondary battery is deteriorated, the calculation setting section calculates and sets at least one of an upper limit value and a lower limit value of the capacity by using a detection value of the singular point capacity after the deterioration so that a potential of the electrode does not deviate from a predetermined range.

Power supply system

A battery control system includes a secondary battery producing gas inside thereof when being used; and a control unit that controls charging/discharging of the secondary battery. The control unit includes a capacity measuring unit that measures capacity of the secondary battery being deteriorated with the use of the same; and a stop commanding unit that stops charging/discharging of the secondary battery, when the capacity measured by the capacity measuring unit is less than or equal to a predetermined threshold.

Battery control system

A battery control system including a secondary battery within which gas is generated with use, and a controller configured to control charging/discharging of the secondary battery. In the controller, a measurer is configured to measure a resistance of the secondary battery, and a stop director is configured to stop charging/discharging of the secondary battery when the resistance of the secondary battery has exceeded a predetermined resistance threshold.

A surface treating method of a negative electrode for a magnesium secondary battery is provided, wherein the magnesium secondary battery includes: a negative electrode capable of releasing magnesium ions during discharging and capable of precipitating elemental magnesium during charging; a positive electrode capable of precipitating a magnesium oxide during the discharging and capable of releasing magnesium ions during the charging; and a non-aqueous ion conductor for conducting magnesium ions as conduction species. A magnesium secondary battery includes: a negative electrode for adsorbing and releasing a magnesium ion; a positive electrode for producing a magnesium oxide product in a discharging process; and a non-aqueous magnesium ion conductor disposed between the negative electrode and the positive electrode. The positive electrode includes an accelerator for promoting the magnesium oxide product, which is decomposed to a magnesium ion and an oxygen molecule easier than MgO. In this case, since the electrochemical reaction at the positive electrode in a charging process rapidly progresses, the magnesium secondary battery can charge and discharge repeatedly. Thus, the battery functions as a secondary battery sufficiently.

A negative electrode used for a nonaqueous electrolyte solution battery having nonaqueous electrolyte solution containing lithium ion includes a metal carbon composite material. The metal carbon composite material has a porous carbon material having cavities, and a metal material made of metal to reversibly store or emit lithium ion. The metal material is arranged on a surface of the porous carbon material including inner surfaces of the cavities. The porous carbon material has a mass of 1-65 mass % when the metal carbon composite material is defined to have a mass of 100 mass %.
