A portable electrocardiograph having a display function and method is disclosed. In measuring an electrocardiographic waveform, an electrocardiograph () is held in position by a grip including a negative electrode () while simultaneously pressing a contact section including a positive electrode () against an electrode contact portion other than the right hand of the subject. The measurement result is displayed on a display unit () during the measurement operation. The measurement method is divided into the induction mode I in which the contact section including the positive electrode () is pressed against the subject's left hand, and the induction mode II in which the contact section including the positive electrode () is pressed against the subject's lower left abdomen. In induction mode I, the measurement result is displayed horizontally on the display (), while in the measurement in mode II, the measurement result is displayed vertically.

A portable electrocardiograph and method of use are disclosed. According to one aspect of the present invention, a portable electrocardiograph is provided which includes: a rectangular housing having at least a first outer surface and a second outer surface; a first electrode provided on the first outer surface of the housing; an electrode formation face provided on the second outer surface of the housing; and a second electrode provided within the electrode formation face; wherein the electrode formation face includes an electrode region in which the second electrode is positioned and a non-electrode region which is positioned so as to surround the electrode region.

An electronic sphygmomanometer starts from pressurization and then enters a decompression process. When measurement of blood pressure starts, only a standard pressure release rate voltage is applied to a valve from a standard pressure release rate voltage supply circuit through a decompression control circuit. The valve allows air to be discharged slowly at the standard pressure release rate. If the pressure release rate should be increased for decompression, target pressure release rate acceleration value voltage according to the position of a dial is supplied from an external control signal supply unit. The standard pressure release rate voltage is added to the target voltage and the resultant voltage is supplied to the valve via the decompression control circuit. The valve increases the pressure release rate by the amount corresponding to the external control signal voltage. In this case, even if the dial is returned to zero position, the pressure release rate never falls below the standard pressure release rate.

A method and device for supporting the repair of defective portions of a substrate when the defective portions have been discovered during an inspection process. A recorder records defective data associated with the defective portions. A data sorter sorts the defective data by grouping together defective data relating to a same type of defect. A data indicator highlights a defective location on the substrate where the defective portions were found in an order determined by defective data relating to the same type of defect or in an order determined by defective data relating to defects requiring the same type of repair. The data indicator also indicates the type of repair required and the tools to be used in the repair of the defective portions.

Teaching method and system for mounted component inspection

In a device used to inspect substrates visually, an imaging region and a magnification are specified ahead of time for every component and stored as library data in a memory. The memory also contains CAD data, which include the class of each component on the substrate and its location. During initialization, a control unit links the location data for a component extracted from the CAD data to corresponding library data and specifies a field of view and a magnification for every component on the substrate. Using this data, the control unit creates on the substrate a number of viewing zones to be inspected at various magnifications and stores the data specifying these zones in the memory. When a substrate is to be inspected, the control unit uses the data specifying these zones to control the position and magnification of an imaging unit to collect image data from each zone successively and display them on a monitor.

Method of and apparatus for inspecting printed circuit boards

An electronic thermometer includes a temperature sensing assembly incorporating a temperature sensor element, and a measuring and processing unit for determining and displaying the temperature, wherein the temperature sensing assembly and the measuring and processing unit are physically separable from each other. The temperature sensing assembly includes a code for recording information of the temperature characteristic or the like of the incorporated temperature sensor element. With the aid of the code, the measuring and processing unit is capable of correcting nonuniformity in the characteristic of the mutually exchangeable temperature sensing assemblies, to thereby assure a correct reading.

Electric thermometer

A doze detector detects when the user begins to go to sleep, by detecting the blinks of the user's eye, regardless of the position of the iris, using at least two reflection type sensors. A blink is determined to have occurred only when both light detecting elements detect a blink. The number and/or duration of the blinks is then used to determine whether the user is beginning to doze. An alarm can then be produced to prevent the user from going to sleep.

An electronic clinical thermometer which computes a predicted body temperature value from a series of temperature data generated during a given time period, displays the predicted value for a given time in the course of body temperature measurement and, then, has the predicted value display superceded by a measured temperature display. This clinical thermometer comprises an alerting means for alerting the user at displaying of said predicted value to the fact that the value to be displayed is a predicted body temperature value, a time for terminating the predicted value display long before measured temperature values reach a steady state, and a display shift means which compares the measured value at determination of the predicted value with the measured value at completion of the predicted value display and supercedes the predicted value display with a measured value display on condition that the measured value at completion of the predicted value display is at least equal to the measured value at determination of the predicted value.
