One way clutch has an inner ring, an outer ring and torque transmission members between the inner ring and the outer ring. Each torque transmission member can shift between a torque transmission position and a non torque transmission position. The one way clutch further has biasing members that bias the torque transmission members respectively toward the torque transmission positions, and a retainer that retains the torque transmission members and the biasing members. The retainer includes first and second mount portions that retain the torque transmission members and the biasing members corresponding thereto. Each of the first and second mount portions has a securing portion that secures one end of the biasing member, and the torque transmission member is pressed by the other end of the biasing member. The biasing force that the biasing members retained by the second mount portions exert on the torque transmission members corresponding thereto is larger than the biasing force that the biasing members retained by the first mount portions exert on the torque transmission members corresponding thereto.

One way clutch

In a roller type one-way clutch comprising: an outer race; an inner race that is apart from the outer race on an inner diameter side in a radial direction and concentrically arranged to allow its relative rotation; a plurality of rollers that are arranged between the outer race and the inner race and transmit a torque between the outer race and the inner race; and a plurality of block bearings that are arranged between the rollers and between the outer race and the inner race, the roller type one-way clutch is characterized in that a curvature in a circumferential direction of a bearing surface of the block bearing facing an outer peripheral surface of the inner race is higher than a curvature in the circumferential direction of the outer peripheral surface of the inner race.

Roller-type one-way clutch

In a one way clutch shipped and transported in a sub-assembly state in which one of inner ring and outer ring is assembled in a later stage. The retainer has pockets radially passing therethrough at predetermined intervals and columns between the adjacent pockets. The circumferential length of each column is so designed as to cause the biasing members, each having a spring force that allows reduction of drug, to exert a biasing force that is so strong that the torque transmission members are prevented by biasing by the biasing members from being dislocated in the sub-assembly state. The circumferential width of an engagement projection of a block bearing is smaller than that of a groove in one of the rings. When a torque greater than a predetermined level is input, the retainer shifts by a distance equal to a gap between the engagement projection and an end of the groove.

A oneway clutch supporting structure comprises a oneway clutch which comprises a stationary race element and a rotational race element to be fitted in a rotational member, the race elements respectively having peripheral surfaces separated from each other in the radial direction to face each other, a plurality of bearings for coaxially retaining the race elements and disposed inside an annular space between the stationary race element and the rotational race element with separated from each other at a predetermined angle, torque transmission members disposed between the peripheral surfaces of the stationary race element and the rotational race element, and a stationary member for supporting the stationary race element. A clearance between the stationary member and the stationary race element is smaller than a clearance between the rotational member and the rotational race element.

Oneway clutch and mounting structure thereof

In a oneway clutch apparatus, block bearings for maintaining a space between an inner race and an outer race, each is formed in a tapered-shape with the circumferential width expanding toward a cylindrical surface side. A retainer comprises, in a retaining portion of the block bearing, bearing retaining pieces respectively enlarged from the cam surfaces along the both end surfaces in the circumferential direction of the block bearings. A bearing retaining piece has a latching portion for latching and retaining the block bearing at the tip end thereof.

Oneway clutch apparatus

An annular end bearing for a oneway clutch comprises a sliding-contact flange interposed between an inner ring and an outer ring of the oneway clutch and brought into sliding contact with the inner ring or the outer ring when it is operated, a fixed flange substantially fixed with respect to the inner ring or the outer ring, and a web for coupling the sliding-contact flange to the fixed flange. The end bearing is formed of a metallic plate by press forming and said web is provided with a bending part in the vicinity of said sliding-contact flange.

End bearing and oneway clutch apparatus

An end bearing, a one-way clutch device and a method of manufacturing the end bearing, capable of preventing abrasion or scorching of the end bearing while improving the productivity. The annular end bearing which is interposed between an inner race and an outer race of the one-way clutch device and is in a slidable contact with the inner race or the outer race when it is operated, wherein a recess having the depth of 5 to 30 &mgr;m is formed on a slidable contact surface with inner race or the outer race. The method comprises a blanking step of blanking an annular blank from a metal plate, a recess forming step of forming a recess in a predetermined portion of said blank, and a drawing step of forming a flange on said blank by drawing, wherein the above recess forming step is executed before or after the blanking step, or at the same time with the blanking step.

End bearing and one-way clutch device

Disclosed is a rotor supportable at a side surface thereof by a needle bearing. The side face includes a bearing face with lubricating oil grooves formed therein, and is to be brought into contact with the needle bearing upon assembly. The oil grooves are arranged in a positional relation ship with needles of the needle bearing such that the oil grooves and the needles of the needle bearing do not completely overlap each other along an entire circumference in a direction of rotation. The rotor can be a bush for a one-way clutch, an inner peripheral portion of a stator of a torque converter, or an outer ring of a one-way clutch, said outer ring also serving as an inner peripheral portion of a stator of a torque converter. Preferably, the oil grooves may each be provided with a groove part extending substantially in a direction of a tangent to a raceway circle for said needles.
