An aqueous dispersion of polyamide rubber elastic body, which contains an aqueous medium and a polyamide rubber elastic body emulsified and dispersed in the aqueous medium in the presence of a surfactant. The surfactant is used in an amount of 1 to 20 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the polyamide rubber elastic body, and is for example at least one member selected from the group consisting of a polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether sulfate, a dialkyl sulfosuccinate, a fatty acid salt and an ethylene oxide/propylene oxide copolymer. This aqueous dispersion can produce a molded article having the characteristics of the polyamide rubber elastic body, particularly a molded article which hardly suffers from bleeding of the surfactant and is excellent in transparency.

Aqueous dispersion of polyamide rubber elastic body and method of producing the same

It is an object of the present invention to provide an aqueous ethylene-vinyl alcohol-based copolymer dispersion which is excellent in long-term storage stability and in film-forming properties even when subjected to low-temperature or short-time drying or applied to give thick coats and can give coatings showing high gas barrier performance. Aqueous ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer dispersion

The present invention provides a method of producing, in an industrially advantageous manner, an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer aqueous dispersion which has a high concentration and is excellent in long-term storage stability and in which the resin particles in the aqueous dispersion obtained are small in particle diameter. The method of the present invention relates to producing an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer aqueous dispersion, which comprises: (1) a step of dissolving an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer in a mixed solvent comprising 5 to 65% by weight of water and 35 to 95% by weight of a water-soluble organic solvent, with heating, (2) a step of cooling a solution obtained in step (1) to precipitate the ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer, (3) a step of reducing a concentration of the water-soluble organic solvent in the mixed solvent to a level lower than 35% by weight relative to the total amount of the water and water-soluble organic solvent by adding water, and (4) a step of distilling off the water-soluble organic solvent.

Method for producing aqueous ethylene/vinyl alcohol based copolymer dispersion

The aqueous dispersion of polyamide resin of the present invention comprises dispersed polyamide resin particles, basic material and water. The dispersed polyamide resin particles have a weight-average diameter of 0.1-10 &mgr;m. The ratio of end carboxyl groups to end amino groups in the polyamide resin is between 60/40 and 100/0. The amount of said basic material added is 0.2-3.0 mol per mol of end carboxyl groups. Such an aqueous dispersion of polyamide resin can be manufactured by adding the polyamide resin to an aqueous dispersion medium containing 0.2-3.0 mol of basic material per mol of end carboxyl groups in the polyamide resin.

Aqueous polyamide resin dispersion and process for producing the same

A heat-fusion bonding adhesive is prepared by heating a thermoplastic resin to a temperature of no less than the softening temperature of the resin and then dispersing the resin in the softened state in an aqueous medium. Dispersing the thermoplastic resin in the aqueous medium is conducted, for example, by applying a shear force to the aqueous medium by stirring. In this case, stirring of the aqueous medium is preferably conducted till the thermoplastic resin is divided into particles with a weight-average particle size of 0.1-20 &mgr;m.

There are disclosed a frost-coating composition, which comprises (i) a hydrophobic silica particle or further comprises (ii) a polymer particle, in addition to a photocurable compound; and a frosted glass container coated with such a composition. The frosted glass container coated with such a composition is excellent in alkali resistance, or excellent both in alkali resistance and in impact resistance.
