To be able to connect and mount a rack mount device having a rack loaded device loaded thereon to a rack easily, and to be able to release and detach the rack mount device easily from the outside of the rack. The rack mount device has a pair of mount kits for holding the rack loaded device arranged to oppose to each other, which are detachably connected to four mount angles configuring the rack. Each mount kit is configured with a front mount and a rear mount, which are freely slidable with respect to each other in the longitudinal directions thereof. A kit connecting mechanisms for connecting each mount kit to the mount angles are provided to both ends of the mount kits, respectively. A connection releasing mechanism for releasing the connection between the mount kits and the mount angles is provided to each of the kit connecting mechanisms.

For providing a detachable disk drive unit mounted in a magnetic disk sysyem of a high reliability and a practical use which enables miniaturization of the magnetic disk system with high packaging density, the chassis of the disk drive unit consists of a printed circuit board supporting a disk drive and a power circuit and their accessaries. The printed circuit board with a plug-in connector is fitted in or removed from a rack of the magnetic disk system with a lever provided at its front end, and the plug-in connector is joined with a connector at the bottom of the rack when the disk drive unit is mounted in the rack.

A socket with a plug locking mechanism has a socket body having an opening formed in a specified position. Plural receptacles for supplying electric power are exposed at their top face from the opening of the socket body and are electrically and mechanically connected with plural terminals projectively formed on the top end of a plug. Plural projecting parts are integrally formed with the same material as the socket body as keeping a specified interval between them on both sides of the opening. Each of the plural projecting parts has at least one hole. A spring has a locking part formed to be engaged with the rear part of the plug in its middle part, and is set in the plural projecting parts so as to be freely turned by inserting each end part thereof into each of the holes which are formed in each of the plural projecting parts.
