A method of manufacturing a rack bar includes: a rolling die abutment step of bringing a pair of rolling dies into abutment against an intermediate portion of a workpiece; and a ball screw groove forming step of forming a ball screw groove in the workpiece by moving the workpiece relative to the pair of rolling dies so that a region of the workpiece against which the pair of rolling dies is brought into abutment is moved from the intermediate portion toward a first end portion of the workpiece.

Method of manufacturing steering shaft

A spring steel-made clip () has an arc-shaped first inserting part forcing portion () and an arc-shaped second inserting part forcing portion () facing the first inserting part forcing portion (), a first axial direction connecting portion () connecting one ends of the inserting part forcing portions () and a second axial direction connecting portion () connecting the other ends of the inserting part forcing portions (). The axial direction connecting portions () have connecting end position stoppers () protruding from their inner edge portions () toward an opening (). The connecting end position stoppers () elastically contact position stopper contact portions () of tubes (A,B), then a relative movement of the tubes (A,B) in a direction in which connecting end contact surfaces () separate from each other is stopped.

Power steering device

A rack housing () is provided with: a cylindrical main body () for movably accommodating a rack bar (); and a stroke limiting section () annularly protruding from the cylindrical main body () toward a first end (). The inner peripheral surface () of the stroke limiting section () is located offset radially outward from a support surface (), i.e. the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical main body (). The inner peripheral surface () and the support surface () are connected to each other by a sloped section () which is sloped circular conically. The sloped section () is provided at a position overlapping the cylindrical main body () when viewed radially. The sloped section () is sloped so that the inner diameter of the cylindrical main body () of the rack housing () increases toward a first contact section ().
