A functional film having a particular organic film and a particular inorganic film is produced. The functional film is consistently produced and exhibits the intended performance. The functional film production method includes forming an organic film on a surface of a substrate, handling the substrate having the organic film formed thereon so that no member comes in contact with an organic film surface in vacuum until formation of an inorganic film, and forming the inorganic film by vacuum deposition on the organic film surface.

Method for producing functional film

In a web winding method for winding a plurality of cut webs in rolls while pressure is applied thereto from rider rollers, among a web grouping, which is constructed by aligning the plurality of webs in a sideways direction, two or more first divided rider rollers are disposed in a widthwise direction with respect to left end and right end webs, and together therewith, individual second divided rider rollers are disposed with respect to webs apart from the left end web and the right end web, and the plurality of webs are wound.

Web winding method

The method for producing a functional film includes a step of forming an organic film on a surface of a substrate and a step of forming an inorganic film by vacuum deposition on a surface of the organic film to produce the functional film. Prior to forming the inorganic film, a member contacts the surface of the organic film in a vacuum chamber at portions where the organic film does not exhibit its functions.

A light-shielding packaging for a roll of continuous photosensitive web wound on a core having on its each end a light-shielding flange disc has at its leading end a light-shielding leader sheet. The leader sheet is composed of a longitudinal light-shielding base sheet and two heat-shrinkable light-shielding strips, in which each of the light-shielding strips is tearable predominantly in its longitudinal direction and is fixed onto a surface of each side of the light-shielding base sheet under the condition that the light-shielding strip is aligned in parallel with the side of the longitudinal base sheet to project its portion from the side of the base sheet.

Light-shielding packaging system for photosensitive web roll

A light-shielding packaging for a roll of continuous photosensitive web includes a tubular core having on each end a light-shielding flange disc; and a roll of a continuous photosensitive web wound on the core, which has a diameter identical to a diameter of the flange disc. The photosensitive web has at its leading end a light-shielding leader sheet which has a length larger than circumferential length of the flange disc and a width larger than a width of the photosensitive web, whereby each side portion of the leader sheet extends beyond the periphery of the flange disc to reach the outer surface of the flange disc. An adapter of rigid resin is provided which includes a hollow cylinder member having at its one end a flange member and which is attached to the core by inserting the cylinder member into the tubular core.

A light-shielding packaging for a roll of continuous photosensitive web wound on a core having on its each end a light-shielding flange disc has at its leading end a heat-shrinkable light-shielding leader sheet having a thickness of 30 to 200 &mgr;m which shows a heat shrinkage ratio at 50&deg; C. of lower than 1% both in the longitudinal and width directions and a heat shrinkage ratio at 100&deg; C. in the range of 5% to 30% in the longitudinal direction and a heat shrinkage ratio at 100&deg; C. of less than the heat shrinkage ratio in the longitudinal direction by 1% or more in the width direction. The leader sheet has a length larger than the length of the outermost convolution of the roll and a width larger than the distance between the outer face of one flange disc and the outer face of another flange disc, and each side portion of the leader sheet is light-tightly attached by heat shrinkage to the outer face of the flange disc at least at a portion adjacent to the periphery of the flange disc.

Light shielding packaging system for photosensitive web roll

A trimming processing device automatically processes trimmings generated when a running wide web is slit in the running direction of the web into a plurality of strips having desired widths. A trimming cutting unit movable in the transverse direction of the web cuts the trimmings in the transverse direction of the trimmings, and a trimming conveyor unit movable in the transverse direction of the web conveys the trimmings away from the web. The positions of the trimming cutting unit and the trimming conveyor unit are controlled according to the position of the trimmings which varies according to the width of the web and the width and the number of the strips to be slit from the web.
