A server for controlling an image forming system according to an embodiment includes an interface that receives, from a user device, document data and instructions to print the document data. A storage section stores the document data. A controller determines a printing mode of the document data based on property information included in the document data. The controller selects for printing the document data, only one of a non-erasable image forming apparatus and an erasable image forming apparatus based on the determined printing mode. The controller controls a display device to display a screen for selecting an erasable printing mode designation if the printing mode is determined to be a non-erasable printing mode.

An image forming apparatus according to an embodiment includes an image forming section having a cartridge detachably mounted thereto. The cartridge holds a color erasable material which is erasable by heating to a color erasing temperature. The cartridge includes a housing configured to hold the color erasable material and a temperature sensing unit configured to detect a storage temperature of the housing. The apparatus includes a display unit and a control section. The control section receives a maximum storage temperature of the housing, and determines whether the received maximum storage temperature is greater than the color erasing temperature. The control section controls the display unit to display a message indicating whether the received maximum storage temperature is greater than the color erasing temperature.

Cartridge, image forming apparatus and quality determining method of cartridge

An image forming apparatus according to an embodiment comprises a first image forming section configured to form an image on a recording medium with a non-erasable material, and a second image forming section configured to form an image on the recording medium with an erasable material. The image forming apparatus further comprises a control section configured to separate image data according to attributes of the image data into first image data to be printed on the recording medium in the first image forming section and second image data to be printed on the recording medium in the second image forming section.

A decoloring device according to an embodiment includes a decoloring unit that erases a first image formed with erasable colorant on a first side of a sheet and a second image formed with erasable colorant on a second side of the sheet. A reading unit reads the first and second sides of the sheet and determines whether the first side and the second side are reusable. A single-side reusable paper tray stacks the sheet if the reading unit determines that only one of the first and second sides is reusable. A marking unit adds a mark to the one of the first and second sides that is determined to be not reusable when only one of the first and second sides is determined to be reusable.

Decoloring method and decoloring device

According to an embodiment, a decoloring device is disclosed. A decoloring unit decolors an image formed with decolorable colorant on a sheet. A reading unit reads a surface of the sheet to determine whether the surface of the sheet is reusable. When the surface of the sheet read by the reading unit is determined to be not reusable, a marking unit adds a mark to the read surface. A first tray receives the sheet on which a mark is added by the marking unit.

A facsimile apparatus according to an embodiment includes a communication interface that receives facsimile data, a data storage device, a non-decolorable printing section, a decolorable printing section and a processor. The data storage device stores, prior to the facsimile data being received, a plurality of facsimile transmission source information. The data storage device also stores the received facsimile data. The processor controls printing of the content of the received facsimile data in one of the non-decolorable printing section and the decolorable printing section based on whether a detected transmission source information is determined to be included in the previously stored plurality of facsimile transmission source information.

A decoloring device according to an embodiment comprises a decoloring unit configured to erase a first image formed with erasable colorant on a first side of a sheet and a second image formed with erasable colorant on a second side of the sheet, and a reading unit configured to read the first and second sides of the sheet and determine whether the first side and the second side are reusable. The decoloring device further comprises a single-side reusable paper tray configured to stack the sheet if the reading unit determines that only one of the first and second sides is reusable, and a reversing unit configured to reverse the sheet and discharge the sheet to the single-side reusable paper tray so that the one of the first and second side determined to be reusable is stacked on the single-side reusable paper tray in a predetermined orientation.

An image forming system according to an embodiment comprises a data creation section configured to create document data, and a print instruction section configured to send instructions to print the document data.
