A pulse photometry probe includes: a light emitter having a first face from which light is emitted toward a living body; a light receiver having a second face which receives the light from the living body; a surface sheet which faces the first face of the light emitter and the second face of the light receiver; a cover sheet in which at least one slit is formed; and a lead wire which includes: a first lead wire connected to one of the light emitter and the light receiver; a second lead wire connected to the other one of the light emitter and the light receiver; and a basal portion at which the first lead wire and the second lead wire are bundled. The second lead wire includes at least one slack portion between the basal portion and the other one of the light emitter and the light receiver.

Pulse photometry probe

A sensor main unitis axially split into three sub-segments. A light-emitting elementis attached to one end portion, and a light-receiving elementis attached to the other end portion. A respiratory flow pathis formed so as to penetrate through the center portion. The sensor main unitis attached to a position on the face below the nostrils, and respiratory gas from the nostrils is guided into the respiratory flow pathand is caused to cross over the optical axis connected the light-emitting elementand the light-receiving element, thereby measuring a carbon dioxide gas in the respiratory gas.

A probe adapted to be used with a pulse oximeter is disclosed. A flexible first housing is adapted to be brought into contact with at least a nail of a finger or a toe of a subject. A flexible second housing is adapted to be brought into contact with at least a top of the finger or the toe. A flexible connecting part connects the first housing and the second housing, and is adapted to cover a tip end of the nail. A light emitting element is provided on one of the first housing and the second housing. A light receiving element is provided on the other one of the first housing and the second housing.

Probe adapted to be used with pulse oximeter

In an adaptor for a flow sensor, a tubular body is adapted to allow respiratory gas to pass through. At least one fluid-resistant member is disposed in the tubular body. At least two pairs of first passages are formed in the fluid-resistant member and adapted to lead out pressures at two positions in the tubular body which are to be detected by the flow sensor.

Adaptor for flow sensor

In a sensor for detecting a carbon dioxide gas in an expiration gas of a living body, an airway case is adapted to be disposed below nostrils of the living body, and formed with an airway passage extending across an optical axis of a light beam emitted from a right emitter of the sensor. A mouth guide is adapted to be disposed in front of a mouth of the living body so as to define a space communicated with the airway passage. The mouth guide is pivotably supported on the airway case. A retainer is adapted to retain an oxygen supply tube on the airway adapter body in such an attitude that an oxygen gas supplied from prongs of the oxygen supply tube is not directly injected into the nostrils.

A light emitting portion and a light receiving portion are separately formed, and firmly interposed between tape members and and between tape members and , respectively. Those tape members are attached, by sticking, to the opposed locations of a surface of a finger in a state that the optical axes of the light emitting portion and the light receiving portion are coincident with each other. The outer surfaces of them are covered with tape members and , whereby the probe is attached to the finger

Biological sensor

An airway adaptor formed of a tubular member is narrowed in diameter at its central part in an axial direction to form parallel faces and the parallel faces are formed with optical windows on a same axis. An adaptor fitted in the airway adaptor is formed with parallel faces at positions respectively facing with the optical windows leaving determined slits therebetween and provided with a through hole on a same axis as the optical windows

Respiratory gas sensor

An endoscope for endotracheal intubation includes an elongated insertion section having a handle operation section, a bending operation mechanism and a bending mechanism for bending the insertion section, the bending mechanism including a long elastic member having one end positioned near the distal end portion of the insertion section and the other end fixedly coupled to the bending operation mechanism, a push-pull member having one end positioned near the distal end portion of the insertion section and the other end connected to the bending mechanism, a hollow member for coupling together distal end portions of the elastic member and the push-pull member so as to cause the portions to oppose each other along a bending direction, wherein the distal end portions of the elastic member and the push-pull member, which are coupled together with the hollow member, are provided integrally so as to provide a free end.

Endoscope

A method and apparatus for applying infrared radiation to a respiratory gas and detects a signal associated with the quantity of transmitted radiation for measuring the concentration of CO,in the respiratory gas. The capnometer detects a maximum value of the detection signal from the thermal detector during the present inspiration phase, stores the detected maximum value in RAM, performs the first approximation, Kalman filtering or some other suitable method to compute a corrected value that is valid for the time being until a maximum value is detected in the next inspiration phase, and determines a density signal by calculating the difference between the corrected value and the detection signal.

Capnometer

A transparent sheet,for transmitting an infrared ray therethrough is formed by laminating a PET sheet,on which a anti-fogging layer,can be formed easily and a PP sheet,with good infrared ray transmission property, thereby to make the thickness of the transparent window larger.

Airway adapter for non-dispersive infrared gas analyzer

Windows,which allow infrared light to be transmitted therethrough are opened at opposed positions of side walls of a flow tube,, respectively. A hexagonal frame,is air tightly attached to each of the apertures. Each frame,is protruded from the inner face of the flow tube,. A transparent window on which an anti-fogging layer,is formed stretches on the inner face of each of the frame,, so that waterdrops flowing through the flow tube,are caused to flow along both the sides of the frame,, thereby preventing the waterdrops from flowing over the anti-fogging layer

Airway adaptor for measurement of gas concentration

A movable mechanism (3) moves a first housing (1) having a light emitting element (4) mounted thereon and a second housing (2) having a photo sensing element (5) mounted thereon in a state that those housings are parallel to each other. The movable mechanism (3) includes a pair of knobs (15A and 15B) and a spring (11) urging those knobs to move apart from each other. When the knobs (15A and 15B), while resisting the force of the spring (11), are pressed so as to make a mutual approach of those knobs, the first housing (1) and the second housing (2) are moved apart from each other. At this time, a finger of a patient is placed between the housings, and an operator gradually lessens his force applied to the knobs (15A and 15B) and reduces the force to zero. Then, the finger is held between the first housing (1) and the second housing (2). In this case, the orientations of the axes of the light emitting element (4) and the photo sensing element (5) are variable irrespective of the thickness of the finger.
