A vehicle display device includes a displaying part configured to emit, as display light, display information to be viewed and recognized by an occupant in a cabin as a virtual image, a reflection member configured to reflect the display light emitted from the displaying part to project the display light on a projection target part in the cabin, and a controller configured to control the display light in accordance with a detection eye box representing a detection result of an eye box representing a range of an eye point of the occupant and allowing the virtual image to be viewed and recognized.

Vehicle display device

The head-up display device includes a light source; a condensing lens; a lens array diffusing light from the condensing lens; a liquid-crystal display unit emitting light from the lens array as display light; and a reflecting member reflecting the display light emitted from the liquid-crystal display unit and projecting the display light on a windshield. The lens array has, in an emitting surface, a plurality of lens surfaces projecting toward the liquid-crystal display unit and having an aspherical sectional shape, and, in the lens surface, the curvature radius of a part emitting display light to be projected on an upper part of the windshield is smaller than the curvature radius of a part emitting display light to be projected on a lower part of the windshield.

Head-up display device

A head-up display device has a backlight unit configured to illuminate a liquid crystal panel from a back side. The backlight unit has an optical condenser configured to condense the light emitted from a light source toward the liquid crystal panel, and a microlens array arranged in an optical path between the optical condenser and the liquid crystal panel to diffuse the light condensed by the optical condenser. The microlens array has a light emission face arranged in a position optically conjugated with an eyebox to emit the light incident from the optical condenser.

A backlight unit has a light source, a light collecting member that collects light emitted from the light source, and a micromirror array that has a concave reflecting surface and reflects light entering from the light collecting member toward a liquid crystal panel by the reflecting surface, a polarizing plate that folds back, between the micromirror array and the liquid crystal panel, an optical path of light reflected by the micromirror array toward the liquid crystal panel, and a diffusing plate disposed on an optical path between the polarizing plate and the liquid crystal panel. In the micromirror array, the reflecting surface is composed of a plurality of micromirrors. The polarizing plate transmits light oscillating in a first direction orthogonal to an oscillating direction of light transmitted through the liquid crystal panel and reflects light oscillating in a second direction intersecting the first direction.

Backlight unit and head-up display device

A backlight unit includes a light source; a condensing unit that condenses light emitted from the light source; and a diverging unit that diverges the light entering from the condensing unit and that emits the light toward an image display unit of a light transmission type in a head-up display device. For example, the diverging unit is a lens in which both surfaces of an incident surface into which the light from the condensing unit enters as well as an emission surface from which the light is emitted toward the image display unit, are concave surfaces.

A backlight unit includes a light source, a light collecting member that collects light emitted from the light source, and a concave reflecting surface, and includes a micromirror array that reflects the light incident from the light collecting member toward a liquid crystal panel by the reflecting surface and a diffusion plate that is arranged on an optical path between the micromirror array and the liquid crystal panel. In the micromirror array, the reflecting surface includes the plurality of micromirrors. One or more groups of the plurality of micromirrors are arranged in the reflecting surface in an X direction and a Y direction. Each micromirror includes a convex or concave curved surface.

In the backlight unit, the polarizing plate causes light oscillating in a direction orthogonal to the reference oscillation direction transmit to the quarter wavelength plate among beams of the light incident from the light collecting member, with the oscillation direction of the light transmitting through the liquid crystal panel as the reference oscillation direction, and reflects light oscillating in the reference oscillation direction from a side of the micromirror array toward the liquid crystal panel. The quarter wavelength plate converts the light incident from the polarizing plate side and transmitting to the side of the micromirror array into the first polarized light, and converts the first polarized light reflected by the mirror array and transmitting toward the polarizing plate into the second polarized light oscillating in a direction identical to the reference oscillating direction.
