A thermotropic resin composition containing (A) 100 parts by weight of a thermotropic polyester, a thermotropic polyesteramide or a mixture thereof, forming an anisotropic molten phase and (B) 1 to 200 parts by weight of a graphite having a fixed carbon content of 98% or more, a crystallinity of 80 to 95%, and an average particle size of 1 to 200 .mu.m.

The present invention relates to (A) 100 parts by weight of a liquid crystal polyester and/or liquid crystal polyesteramide capable of forming an anisotropic melt and (B) a liquid crystal polymer composition containing 5 to 300 parts by weight of a potassium titanate whisker having a pH of 6 to 8, wherein, the melt viscosity of the composition is 12 to 300 Pa.multidot.sec, and the weight average fiber length of the potassium titanate whisker in the composition is at least 4.5 .mu.m, the liquid crystal polymer composition having low anisotropy as well as balanced properties of superior dimensional stability, lubricating property (wear resistance), thin-wall moldability, heat resistance and mechanical properties, thereby allowing it to be useful as electrical and electronic parts, automotive parts, audio parts and various types of machine parts, and particularly as bearing and wear applications required to have lubricating property (wear resistance).

A high modulus polyester molded article is obtained by molding an aromatic polyester which comprises at least one structural unit selected from the following structural units (I) to (III), the structural units (II)+(III) being less than 10 mol % of the structural units (I)+(II)+(III), and which is capable of forming anisotropic melt: ##STR1## wherein X represents at least one group selected from ##STR2## Y represents at least one group selected from ##STR3## and Z represents at least one group selected from ##STR4##
