A cable includes a conductive wire, preferably of copper, and an insulating sheath, preferably of synthetic resin, covering the wire. The conductive wire has, for example, a rectangular cross section. The cable can be pressed into a slit of a cramping terminal with an improved operability and a temperature increase of the conductive wire,can be suppressed.

Electric cable and connector for use with a cramping terminal

A connector provided with a half-fitting prevention function has a simplified configuration. A spring,is provided with a spring member,located to the posterior of a spring pressing member,which is pressed directly by a female housing. This spring member,is compressed when it receives a pressing force. The spring pressing member,and the spring member,are formed in a unified manner from plastic. The spring,is housed within a spring housing chamber,of a male housing,If the fitting of the two housings is halted part-way through the operation, the spring member,which has been compressed is released, the force which has been accumulated thus far is released, and the female housing is thereby caused to move in a direction of separation.

Electrical connector

A pressure-contact terminal is formed by punching and bending a metal plate. A base portion has a pair of sandwiching pieces extending from it, to form a slot for accommodating an electrical cable. A pair of bent-up reinforcing portions extends along the outer edges of the sandwiching pieces. The distance between the outer faces of the reinforcing portions is substantially equal to the outer diameter of the electrical cable. A pair of coating-peeling portions projecting beyond the ends of the sandwiching pieces extend from the reinforcing portions. The gap between the coating-peeling portions is smaller than the outer diameter of the electrical cable and greater than the outer diameter of the conductor of the electrical cable. In this way a terminal of small width is obtained, permitting an electrical connection box containing such terminals to be compact.

Pressure-contact terminal and electric connection box containing pressure-contact terminals

This invention relates to a phone holder. The phone holder includes a holder main body with an outer box, and a holder connector which is connectable with a mobile phone when the mobile phone is inserted in the holder main body. The position of the holder connector along a direction normal to a connecting direction with the mobile phone is adjusted by bolts and nuts (fixing means). Further, the holder connector is selectively set in the holder main body in a state that a top thereof is oriented upward or downward.

Electrical connection box

This invention relates to a phone holder. The phone holder includes a holder main body with an outer box. The holder main body is provided with movable members such as side walls which are movable in a direction orthogonal to a direction of inserting a mobile phone. The position of the movable members is adjusted by a position adjuster such as a screw shaft.

The connector is structured such that a spring piece member 30 supported by a male side connector housing 10 can be compressed in the two directions of the sliding motion of the connector when the connector is mounted and removed, a seesaw type lever piece member 40 disposed so as to be seesawable in the sliding direction of a female connector housing 20 can be inclined forwardly and backwardly into engagement with the two end portions of the spring piece member 30, and the seesaw type lever piece member 40 can be inclined according to the fitted state of the connector by a waiting side guide projection piece 17 and a movable side guide 45 respectively provided in the male side and female side connector housings 10 and 20. Thanks to this structure, resilient forces respectively to pull back and push out the two connector housings in a half fitted state can be obtained from the same elastic member, that is, the spring piece member 30, and engagement and disengagement between the seesaw type lever piece member 40 and the spring piece member 30 can be achieved within a small operation range, which makes it possible to realize a compact and half fitted connector.

Connector device having spring mechanism

A shield layer 13 of a shielded cable W and a metal shell 30 are electrically connected via a connection member 40. This connection member 40 is tubular and includes a receiving portion 41 which is insertable under the shield layer 13, a shield layer fastening portion 42 for fastening the shield layer 13 to the receiving portion 41, and a contact portion 43 to be brought into pressing contact with the inner circumferential surface of the metal shell 30. The portions 41 to 43 are integrally or unitarily formed. With this construction, if the shield layer fastening portion 42 is fastened after the receiving portion 41 is inserted under the shield layer 13, the shield layer 13 is tightly held between the receiving portion 41 and the fastening portion 42. As a result, the shield layer 13 and the metal shell 30 are connected electrically even if the rigidity of an insulation layer 12 is reduced.

A phone holder for detachably holding a mobile phone in an automotive vehicle is provided with a holder main body including an inner casing having a phone accommodating portion, a phone urging device having a phone actuating roller and the like for urging the mobile phone being inserted into the phone accommodating portion in a direction opposite from an inserting direction of the mobile phone, and a phone locking device which can be switched between a locking state where the mobile phone is locked in a specified accommodation position in the phone accommodating portion against a urging force of the phone urger and an unlocking state where the locking is released. The phone locking device is switched to the locking state as the mobile phone is inserted into the phone accommodating portion. The above locking is releasable by moving the mobile phone in its locked state in the inserting direction.

An electrical connection box includes a casing having an upper casing (10) and a lower casing (11). Terminal holes (19, 20) are formed on the outer wall of the casing. An insulating plate (12), mounted in the casing, has a several of wiring grooves (13) formed on at least one of its opposite faces (12a, 12b). Terminal driving portions (24 and 25), obtained by increasing a width of the wiring grooves (13), are provided at predetermined locations in the wiring grooves (13). Wires (14, 15) having first and second diameters are inserted into and held in the wiring grooves (13). Pressing contact terminals (16, 17) includes a pressing contact portion (16a, 17a) and an input-output terminal portion (16b, 17b) formed at its opposite ends, respectively. The pressing contact portions (16a, 17a) are driven into the terminal driving portions (24, 25) to connect through pressing contact to the wires (14, 15) held in the wiring grooves. The input-output terminal portions (16b, 17b) project out of each of the terminal holes (19, 20) to connect to an external circuit. The pressing contact portions (FIG. 46) may include notches (117g, 117h) that bite into the wiring groove as the pressing portions engage the wires and expand outwardly. Small-diameter wires 14 may engage shorter pressing contact terminals 16, while large-diameter wires 15 engage longer pressing contact terminals 17.

An upper casing and a lower casing together form a casing of an electrical connection box. An insulating plate is provided within the casing. A first space is thereby defined within the casing between the insulating plate and the one of the upper and lower casings, and a second space defined within the casing between the insulating plate and the remaining one of the upper and lower casings. A first circuit, formed by bus bars, is disposed in the first space. A second circuit is formed by wires and pressing contact terminals in pressing contact with the wires. Wires of a portion of the second circuit are shifted to the first space, and wires of the remaining portion of the second circuit are disposed within the second space.

Opposed inner surfaces of lower and upper casings making up a connection box are flat, and wire arrangement grooves are formed in the inner surfaces. Insertion holes communicate with the wire arrangement grooves in specified positions and are open to the outer surfaces of the casings. A wire is laid into the wire arrangement grooves and is pressed into the slots of the cramping terminals mounted in the insertion holes. The tabs on the cramping terminals project from the outer surfaces of the casings. The casings are held together by nuts and bolts or other devices after the flat inner surfaces are in contact with each other.

A wire assembly is formed by insertion of a wire into a wire guide including a wire guide which is either a receiving groove or pairs of guide projections in or on an insulation substrate. Cramping terminals may be connected to the wire, and the wire may be cut in desired positions to separate it into a plurality of circuits. A retainer is provided which is at an angle to the leading end of the wire guide at a starting position. The wire is inserted into the wire guide after its leading end has been introduced into the wire retainer.

Wire assembly and method of production thereof

A terminal main body 3 has a supporting member 2 that clamps the periphery of a battery post P, and a pair of clamp arms 7. Each arm 7 has two angled bolt through holes 6. When a bolt 4 is attached, the attachment axis L and the attachment axis M of the post P are inclined at an angle thus increasing access possibilities for a wrench 15.
