An anesthetic dispensing device () includes a measuring unit () for determining an anesthetic concentration in an area of an outlet () of the anesthetic dispensing device. The measuring unit is configured to measure a first parameter () of a gas concentration-dependent characteristic between a mixer unit () and a second parameter () of the gas concentration-dependent characteristic in a second gas branch () or in an area of a breathing gas feed () of the anesthetic dispensing device by at least one sensor element (). The measuring unit is further configured to determine the anesthetic concentration between the mixer unit and the outlet and to output a corresponding concentration signal () as a function of calibration information assigned to the second parameter and of the first parameter.

Anesthetic dispensing device with a measuring unit

A control system controls fresh gas dispensing for an anesthesia device, with a patient gas-measuring unit, an anesthetic-dispensing unit, a user interface, and a fresh gas regulation unit. With a transition from deactivated assistance mode to activated assistance mode, a processing unit receives a measured signal, a fresh gas signal and an assistance signal and calculates an end tidal anesthetic concentration over time based on a current volume flow, a predefined volume flow and on a current end tidal anesthetic concentration and stores this as a preset curve. A fresh gas correction signal is output upon the determined current end tidal anesthetic concentration leaving a surrounding range of the preset curve. A predefined volume flow curve is changed as a function of the correction signal. The volume flow of fed fresh gas is increased when the surrounding range is undershot and is reduced when the surrounding range is exceeded.

Control system and process for controlling the dispensing of fresh gas for an anesthesia device

A dispensing device for dispensing anesthetic in a breathing gas stream includes a flow duct () for an anesthetic-containing breathing gas stream, a control unit () and a first temperature sensor (). An anesthetic feed device () has an evaporation surface () arranged in the flow duct (). The first temperature sensor () detects the temperature of the evaporation surface () and sends a first temperature signal (T) to the control unit (). A second temperature sensor () detects the temperature of the breathing gas stream in the flow duct () and sends a second temperature signal (T) to the control unit (). The control unit () is configured to determine an anesthetic concentration based on the first and second temperature signals (T, T).

Dispensing device for introducing an anesthetic into a breathing gas stream

A device, for dispensing an anesthetic into a gas stream, has a gas inlet, via which gas to be enriched with anesthetic and coming from a gas source flows in and with a gas outlet, via which gas enriched with anesthetic flows out to a patient port. A heating element, for heating the gas stream, is arranged upstream of an evaporation chamber, for dispensing an anesthetic into the gas stream, between the gas inlet and the gas outlet. The heating element is actuated by a control unit such that heat is fed to the gas to be enriched with anesthetic for evaporation of the anesthetic located in the evaporation chamber as a function of at least one status parameter of the gas to be enriched with the anesthetic and/or of the gas at least partially enriched with the anesthetic.

Device and method for dispensing an anesthetic into a gas stream

A gas heater () and gas heater method heat a carrier gas flow. The gas heater includes a gas inlet () a gas outlet () and a connecting gas channel (). A heating system (), arranged in the gas channel, includes a heat exchanger () surface. The carrier gas at least partly flows over the surface to heat the carrier gas flow. The gas channel includes a first section (), arranged upstream of the heat exchanger in a flow direction, and a second section () arranged downstream of the heat exchanger. A respective sensor (), for detecting a pressure value, is in the first and the second section or directly adjacent thereto. Pressure values are transmitted to a control and analysis unit () which ascertains a mass and/or volume flow of the carrier gas in the gas channel based on a pressure difference between the two pressure values.

Process as well as gas heater for heating a carrier gas stream

A method and device, for enriching a gas flow with an anesthetic, include a gas mixer (), with gas inlets () and one or more gas outlets (), and an anesthetic dispenser () connected to the one or more gas outlets. The anesthetic dispenser at least partially enriches the gas flow to provide a breathing gas flow enriched with anesthetic at a patient connector (). A control valve () is arranged fluidically in series with the anesthetic dispenser (). The gas outlet is connected to the patient connector () via a gas channel (), arranged fluidically parallel to the anesthetic dispenser () and in which at least another control valve () is arranged. A control unit () actuates at least one control valve as a function of a desired value for an anesthetic concentration in the breathing gas flow to change anesthetic concentration at the patient connector ().

Device for providing a breathing gas flow enriched with anesthetic

A devicefor providing a breathing gas stream, which contains a therapeutically active substance, for the mechanical respiration and/or mechanical breathing assistance of a patient, wherein the devicehas at least one first line, through which a first gas streamflows during the operation of the device, and wherein the devicehas at least one second line, wherein the first lineand the second linehave a common section, and wherein the first lineand the second lineare connected to one another by a water vapor-permeable membranein the area of the common flow section, the present invention provides for a second gas streamto flow through the second lineduring the operation of the device.

Device and method for providing a breathing gas stream

An anesthetic gas intermediate storage unit is provided having a first gas duct for passing through inspiration gas, a second gas duct for passing through expiration gas and an adsorption material (), which can be influenced electrically, for an anesthetic, which is carried by a gas. The adsorption material is arranged in at least one gas duct for passing through breathing gas, and with a device for admitting expiration gas and inspiration gas alternatingly to the adsorption material (), at least at an identical area for the intermediate storage of the anesthetic from the expiration gas to the inspiration gas. The device has openings, which divert the expiration gas and inspiration gas flowing in and out such that expiration gas and inspiration gas are admitted to the stationary adsorption material () alternatingly at an identical area.

Anesthetic gas intermediate storage unit with adsorption characteristics which can be influenced electrically

A device for adsorbing and desorbing anesthetic shall be improved in respect of the anesthetic supply. A sampling device () for removing a gas volume of the breathing gas and an anesthetic dispenser () are connected to the breathing gas line () between the adsorption filter () and the patient () in such a way that the gas volume removed and the gas volume supplied are compensated.

Device for adsorbing and desorbing anesthetic

A device is provided for adsorbing and desorbing anesthetic has good control of anesthetic dispensing such as in an anesthetic system. An adsorption filter is provided with adsorption beds (), which can be pivoted between an inspiration line () and an expiration line (). The anesthetic is dispensed in the expiration line () on the incoming flow side of the adsorption bed () arranged there.

A liquid evaporator includes a liquid reservoir () with a liquid to be evaporated, a heater () and an evaporator tube (). The evaporator tube () has a first porous element () having a first porosity and with an area in contact with the liquid in the liquid reservoir () and a second porous element () with a second porosity and with an area present on an evaporator side () used to dispense the evaporated liquid, and an area outside the liquid reservoir heated by the heater () which is not directly in connection with the liquid. The first porous element and the second porous element are in contact in contact areas with the first porous element forming a wick delivering liquid from the reservoir to the contact area.

Liquid evaporator

A device and a process for mixing at least a first gas component with a second gas component is suitable for mixing gases in a portable respirator. The gas mixer device makes it possible to bring about the particularly necessary concentration of the first gas component at different volume flows of the gas mixture generated. The gas mixer device has a plurality of ejectors ( ) of different sizes, which are designed according to the principle of a venturi nozzle. The ejectors have respective propellant gas connections ( ) for feeding the first gas component from a propellant gas container ( ) and suction channels ( ) for feeding the second gas component from a mixing chamber ( ), as well as gas outlets ( ) to a respiration connection ( ). An evaluating and control unit ( ) evaluates the signals of two volume flow sensors ( ) and correspondingly actuates proportional valves ( ) arranged in the propellant gas connections ( ) for feeding the first gas component. For small respiration flows, the proportional valve ( ) in the propellant gas connection ( ) for the smaller ejector ( ) is actuated by the evaluating and control unit ( ) for opening, the proportional valve ( ) in the propellant gas connection ( ) for the larger ejector ( ) is actuated for opening in the case of medium respiration flows, and both proportional valves ( ) are actuated by the evaluating and control unit ( ) for opening for high respiration flows.
