A feeding and picking device having a rotating feeding device that is rotated about a vertical axis. The device is able to work in fields not planted in rows and is designed to grasp plant stalks and feed them into a picking device. The picking device comprises a snapping channel formed by snapping bars under which is located at least one snapping roll. The feeding device comprises a disc having fingers that overlap the snapping channel. The feeding device is therefore designed to transport the plant throughout the effective length of the picking device.

Row-insensitive feeding and picking device for an agricultural header

An intake and plucking arrangement comprises a rotatable intake device that grasps a standing plant and directs it to a plucking gap. The plucking gap is located above parallel first and second stalk rolls that pull the stalk of the plant downwardly so that the plucking gap can separate the useful parts of the plant from the stalk. The upstream end of the first stalk roll is provided with a lower screw conveyor. A conveyor element is drivingly connected to the screw conveyor. The conveying element comprises an upper screw conveyor that is located above the lower screw conveyor. Both screw conveyors are located upstream from and above the inlet end of the plucking slot. The conveying element working in conjunction with the rotatable intake device direct standing plants into the plucking slot.

Intake and plucking arrangement

A gathering and picking device comprising a picking gap, which is used to separate fruits from plants standing on a field. The gathering and picking device is provided with a first feed element operating at a first feeding speed and a second feed element operating at a second feeding speed. Both feed elements are located adjacent to the input region of the picking gap. The second feed element is arranged above the first feed element. Both feed elements cooperate to convey the plants into the picking gap. The second feeding speed is higher than the first feeding speed to slope the plants rearward as they engage the feeding elements.

Gathering and picking device

A feeding and picking device is provided with a rotating feeding device defining a feeding radius. The feeding device is rotated about a vertical feeding axis. The picking device comprises a snapping channel formed by snapping bars under which is located at least one snapping roll. A chopping device is located beneath the picking device. The chopping device defines a chopping radius that overlies the feeding radius of the feeding device. The chopping device is rotated about a vertical axis.

Agricultural header with chopper

A harvesting header for a self-propelled harvesting machine comprising a center portion and two side portions. The center portion and both side portions are provided with forwardly extending crop processing arrangements. A transversely extending auger is located behind the crop processing arrangements. The crop processing arrangements can be moved between an operating position and a transport position by pivoting them about a transversely extending horizontal pivot axis. In this transport position the center of gravity of the harvesting header is moved rearwardly towards the harvesting machine. The side crop processing arrangements can be pivoted about forwardly extending pivot axes to reduce the width of the harvesting header in its transport position.

Foldable harvesting header

The invention pertains to a machine including several transversely spaced feed and mowing devices for mowing stalk-type crops. A transverse conveyor channel, through which the harvested crop can be conveyed at least approximately transverse to the forward driving direction, is provided on the rear side of the aforementioned feed and mowing devices, and a feed channel, through which the harvested crop can be fed to a chopping device, is arranged on the downstream end of the transverse conveyor channel. Provided and an intersection of the transverse conveyor channel and the feed channel is a deflector element that is mounted for deflecting downwardly and/or rearwardly plants that protrude out of the transverse conveyor channel such as to prevent them from becoming jammed in front of the feed channel.

Crop deflector for machine for mowing stalk-like crops

A forage harvester header includes a plurality of intake and mowing arrangements disposed side-by-side across the width of the header and adapted for being driven about respective upright axes. Located behind the intake and mowing arrangements and leading to a centrally located discharge channel is a transverse conveying channel having upright conveying drums associated therewith to aid in moving the harvested crop stalks toward the discharge channel. A table is provided across the top of the center two intake and mowing arrangements and mounted centrally in the table is a conveyor arrangement which operates to gather and deliver rearwardly any crop stalks which emerge from the transverse conveying channel and go across the table in the vicinity of the conveyor arrangement.

A gathering and picking unit for a harvesting assembly having a plurality of picking units. Each picking unit is provided with at least one picking roll. The picking rolls are rotatably mounted to the outer portion of a moving element that is rotated about a second vertical axis. Each picking roll is rotated about a first horizontal axis. The picking units can be arranged radially or tangentially on the moving element.

Gathering and picking unit for a harvesting assembly

A self-propelled forage harvester is equipped with a header including intake and plucking arrangements which, in the case of corn, separate the ears from the stalk and conveys them in different streams to the harvester. The harvester has a conventional cutter drum that receives the stalks and cuts them into short lengths, and has a hammermill which receives the corn ears and chops them into small pieces. The corn stalk pieces and the chopped ears can be recombined and discharged from the harvester into a trailer as whole plant silage, or can be delivered in separate streams to separate trailers or separate containers of the same trailer.

Intake and plucking arrangement as well as a harvesting machine

A harvesting device for the harvesting of ears of corn or of similar grain crops for mounting on a self-propelled agricultural harvesting vehicle, in particular a combine or a chopper forage harvester, equipped with a picking device for ears of corn. The picking device consists of an ear holding device with at least one picking gap and at least one picking cylinder, located below the picking gap, for the purpose of pulling of the corn stalks in a downward direction and ripping the ears of corn off their stalks. The ear holding device is formed by at least one picking disk that rotates around a vertical shaft and features at least one picking gap that runs in the rotation direction and is open at the outer periphery of the picking disk. A covering device, which partially reaches over the topside of the picking disk, forms at least one conveying channel for the transport of the ripped-off ears of corn to the harvesting vehicle.

Harvesting device for harvesting ears of corn and similar crops

A machine for mowing and chopping corn and similar stalk-like harvested crops has a number of drawing-in and mowing drums which rotate about a vertical axis and which are provided with protruding driver gear rims. The drawing-in and mowing drums are disposed in the transverse direction on either side of the vertical longitudinal center plane of the machine centrally ahead of a chopper which has an insertion duct which takes up the cut, harvested crops. The insertion duct is bounded above and below by two insertion rollers disposed at a height from one another and laterally by two conveying drums which are at a transverse distance from one another. The conveying drums transport the cut, harvested crops along and rotate about vertical axes. Each of the two lateral guiding drums is divided transversely to its vertical axis into a lower and an upper drum body, each with its own axis of rotation, and the two axes of rotation of the drum bodies are offset relative to one another in the transverse direction in such a manner that the upper drum body can be brought into a working position in which the crown circle of its driver gear rims is at a larger distance from the center of the insertion duct, which coincides with the vertical longitudinal center plane of the machine, than is the crown circle of the driver gear rim of the lower drum body.

Machine for mowing and chopping corn and similar stalk-like harvested crops

A machine for mowing corn and other similar stalk-like harvested crops independently of rows, has a plurality of feeding and mowing drums which, in an arrangement of mirror image symmetry on either side of a vertical, longitudinal median plane of the machine, are disposed centrally in front of a chopper with insertion rollers for the cut harvested crops. For a rotational movement about essential vertical axes of rotation, the feeding and mowing drums are driven by a driving mechanism, which can be connected to the central power train of the chopper and comprises two individual shaftings which are disposed on either side of the vertical, longitudinal median plane of the machine and in each case drive a group of feeding and mowing drums. The two shaftings are bridged by a connecting shaft, which can be connected to the central power train of the chopper and comprises a device which can be activated for a time-offset initiation of the rotational movement of the two shaftings when the machine is started up for the harvesting operation.

Machine for mowing corn and similar stalk-like harvested crops

In the case of a machine for mowing and chopping corn and other similar stalk-like harvested crops, independently of rows, with at least two drawing-in and mowing drums disposed on either side of the vertical, central longitudinal plane of the machine, the cut, harvested crops are supplied to a central chopper over conveying ducts comprising vertical guiding walls. Towards the chopper and in plan view, the guiding walls have the shape of a wave traveling at right angles to the longitudinal, central plane of the machine. As seen in the driving direction, in each region of the wave crests between two adjacent drawing-in and mowing drums, a transverse conveying drum with protruding driving teeth is provided. Through opening slots in the guiding walls, the driving teeth intervene in the conveying duct for the cut, harvested crops.

Machine for mowing and chopping corn and similar stalk-like harvested

A machine for the mowing and chopping-up of maize or the like should be able to operate independent of the distance between rows and the direction of the rows of the material to be harvested, and should also be able to pick up in a perfect manner stalks that have been flattened. To this effect one or several rotating drawing-in and mowing devices (6, 9) are arranged in front of a chaff-blower (1) with feed rollers (3), which drawing-in and mowing devices (6, 9) each comprise several cutting points (15;56) with adjacent working widths distributed over the front operating range. The drawing-in and mowing device positioned closest to the feed rollers at the same time acts as a transfer element for the harvested material coming from the cutting points arranged further away.
