Self-cleaning non-drip iron

A water reservoir for a clothes pressing iron, the reservoir being composed of two plastic parts, and a method for fabricating the reservoir by: simultaneously molding the two parts of one reservoir in a first injection molding step in two impressions of the same mold; and assembling the two parts together while, in a second injection molding step, injection molding a joint of plastic material between the two parts to connect the two parts together in a fluid-tight manner, wherein the two parts are assembled together and the second injection molding step is performed before complete crystallization of the two parts.

A steam iron with an electrically heated sole-plate, which has numerous steam holes that open in ball-like depressions. The sole-plate has a recess, which is open on the ironing-surface side and is surrounded by the ironing surface. Further steam holes open on the bottom of the recess.

An electrically heated steam iron has a soleplate in which are arranged an electrical heating element and a vaporization chamber, and a soleplate liner which consists of a different material from the soleplate and which is fixed thereto. The soleplate is provided with steam escape holes which communicate with respective openings in the soleplate liner, each such opening having a steam distribution groove on the ironing surface of the soleplate liner. The soleplate has recesses each congruent to a respective steam distribution groove and the longitudinal axes of all the grooves are directed towards the center of gravity of the ironing surface of the soleplate liner.

An element guard for an electric toaster is formed from a sheet metal blank and has at least one grid formed by extending a slotted area of the blank. The guard defines a toasting chamber within the toaster and the grid has openings therein so that heat radiated by a heating element of the toaster can toast bread in the toasting chamber.
