A method for compounding a plastic material is provided, wherein the following steps are carried out: a) providing at least one ethylenic polymer; b) addition of at least one cross-linking agent to the ethylenic polymer; c) at least partial cross-linking of the ethylenic polymer by the cross-linking agent; d) addition of at least one propylenic polymer to the product obtained in step c); and e) at least partial cross-linking of the propylenic polymer with the product obtained in step c). Further, a plastic material producible by this method, and a plastic product made out of it are provided.

Method for compounding a plastic material, plastic material and plastic product

A device for removing an oblong burr from a molded part including an energy source that introduces energy into the burr for removing the burr by heating. The energy source includes an infrared transmitter that irradiates the oblong burr with infrared radiation, a sleeve for receiving the infrared transmitter with an inner face facing the infrared transmitter and an outer face remote from the infrared transmitter, and an outlet region through which energy may be transported in the direction of the burr. The sleeve has an outer coating with a surface facing the outside, and an inner face facing the infrared transmitter which at least partially encloses the sleeve. Infrared radiation emitted by the energy source is concentrated by a radiation-forming element, so that only the burr is irradiated by the infrared radiation. The radiation-forming element may be formed by a gap in the outer coating.

Device and method for removing an oblong burr from a molded part

An airbag covering cap including a support layer and a covering layer of different elasticities, having at least one tear-off line along which the airbag covering cap tears open when the airbag is deployed. The covering layer is weakened by a groove in the region of the tear-off line and the support layer extends into this groove. The covering layer has a section adjacent to the section of the support layer, which extends into said support layer. The edge between the sections of the support and covering layers, each extending into the other layer is configured as a tear-off edge.

Airbag covering cap comprising a support layer and a cover layer of different elasticities

A covering device for air-bag-collision-safety systems, including a cap formed of a frame and a cover. The cover is provided with predetermined tear lines forming cover sections, whereby the cover sections are connected in a hinge manner with the frame. The covering device is injection molded of a foamed thermoplastic material, especially an elastomer. Areas of various layer thicknesses lying in the gripping area of the user, such that the surface layers lying in the gripping area of the user, as well as the areas of the covering device used for attachment have a lower pore volume and correspondingly a higher density and hardness between 50 Shore A and 75 Shore D. A layer having a characteristic foamed structure is formed under the surface layers lying in the gripping area of the user, whereby the thickness ratio between the thicker surface layer and the foamed structure is 1 at the most. The foaming takes place while the volume of the mold is stepwise or continuously increased, whereby either the mold halves are separated on a preset path while the pressure in the mold is correspondingly reduced, or parts of the mold are drawn back in the cavity at certain preset points while the pressure in the mold is correspondingly reduced.
